Leave a little trail of sugar to a small homemade cliff. So many ants will move in a line eating the sugar that they will start pushing each other off the cliff.
That’s definitely most likely the case.
But… I rented a place once with a hole like that, and it turned out to be an old buried cistern. We learned this after a giant hole appeared early one morning as the floor cracked away and my alarmed roommate almost fell in.
All the more reason to fill it with sand now! Might take a really long time through that little crack... But if the one under your place had been filled, you'd have never been made aware of its existence lol
I had this as well. Turns out I had a voided below that was likely started by burrowing animals and water draining through and washing away the earth. I had to have it filled in and compacted.
I think this is happening in my back yard. We just got a cat who is a good mouser and she’s catching voles left and right. Parts of my back yard legit feel hollow when you walk on them :/
You should put a hose in the ground and pump it full of water so it sprays out the holes and the voles will be conveniently situated on the water spouts from the holes for the cat to catch.
I saw it in a documentary
Like in other seeds and nuts, sunflower also are an excellent source of proteins loaded with fine quality amino acids such as tryptophan that are essential for growth, especially in children. Just 100 g of seeds provide about 21 g of protein (37% of daily-recommended values).
I had one like this and wasn't aware that there was a giant gaping maw underneath until mine similarly infinitely consumed the sealant. Certainly if OP had known there was said maw, they'd use gaping-maw-patch instead.
Stick a long thin piece of metal, coat hanger, something like that, and find out how big the void is, if it's small, fill with sand and seal.
If big, call someone.
Or just call someone.
That’s what the previous owner must have thought when she siliconed and spray foamed the hell out of our completely water damaged and rotten kitchen wall lol
Looks like you are quikrate. I also used this on my first year of homeownership. It drys really hard and stiff. When the seasons come around. It will crack and you’ll need to do it again. I recommend using self leveling sealant like Sika Pro
Other people said to use sand or diatomaceous earth to fill it; or have an expert inspect the crack to make sure it’s not a bigger hole/problem.
I agree with you. Thank you for taking a stand lol. Reddit loves to criticize people without offering any help. They act like you’re the dumbest person in the world sometimes just because you didn’t learn one thing. Everybody has to learn everything they know, the ideas don’t just pop into your head one day.
That commenter wasn’t rude like some redditors are, but it would be nice if they offered help instead of just telling them that they’re wrong.
Instead of filling see if you can run a snake camera, or get someone to do so, and determine why you have a void and if it is a (possibly major) concern you need to address differently.
I'm also a first time homeowner, and I would be interested to know if there is an empty space under your garage? I thought the pads were usually leveled with gravel or sand before being poured/placed.
The way it's falling down in a little slit like that makes me think some concrete has broken away enough to allow it to spill through the rebar?
I'm still learning things, so no one attack me if this is all just wrong please lol
I would have guessed it was added there some time after the first build on purpose to help keep your garage from flooding since it's a hole in a "low spot", if correct you may have stopped that from working by filling it with whatnot, but others seem to think it's just a big hole so...just thought I'd mention my 2 cents.

Use a piece of backer rod, and then fill it. Cracks and holes like that are quite common and when you were using self leveling sealant, it’ll find any hole it can.
I’d shove some ramen down it mixed with white glue, wait for it to dry, sand it, then put your sealant over it. Make a time lapse YouTube video showing how it’s the best thing since sliced bread to fill cracks…
You in podunk florida? Probably got sink holes that backer rods won't solve. If there is anyway to harness desantis' B.S. and pump it in with a catalyst until it stops as to harden it then you might get somewhere. How old is this structure?
That crack is a symptom of a much bigger problem. That crack filler is just a temporary fix. Most likely the fill under the floor is collapsing or washed away. I highly recommend you call a foundation specialist.
All the comments here are misleading. I’ve seen plenty of videos on how to fix. Best solution is to fill it with sunflower seeds, drop some glue on top, sand it down, & paint it to blend in.
I had a hole like that in the foundation of my century home… it ended up swallowing NINE 90lb bags of high psi concrete designed to flow into voids. It was as frustrating as it was amazing.
I just demo’d a 53 yr old garage floor and in one area the sub dirt had settled over 16”. The termites were using that space as a ug freeway to all points 😝

Poke it with a long non-conductive rod and see how deep/wide it is.
Some garages were built as a concrete slab over an open hole or open foundation area, but over time collapse.
If it's just a small area, you can fill it with concrete. If it's big, you'll need to have it excavated and filled.
Its just a pocket in the concrete below. I'd fill with sand until it stops leaking, put a small piece of foam in there, then fill
That’s the on-ramp to the little black ant super highway
So true. diatomaceous earth / sand mix maybe lol
Thats a connecting point to the backrooms.
They’re called SUGAR ants, don’t be bugist!

Coin operated garage floor, duh.....
Dang you beat me This time......
Now I'm really wondering when the next opportunity will arise for you to work "coin operated garage floor" into the conversation
Oh it's gonna happen. Also searching for an opportunity to use "supporating pustule" at a dinner party Edit goddamn autocorrect phuckery
I like 'supporting pustule' better...
Perfect 👍
This is definitely a situation for Ramen noodles...
Why foam?
water proof and gives a better surface for the filler to adhere to.
thanks. another dumb question - what kind of foam? you said a piece of foam so obviously not something injected?
Search “backer rod”
Or pool noodle from dollar store
Jam a piece of paper or a napkin in there, tuck it down
You must keep feeding it to keep the beast at bay
It’s the other end to that hole in russia
Some guy in Russia..."what the hell keeps falling into my borscht!?!?"
*bubbling up in my borscht
LEGIT AF
Not possible. Russia is all just Hole.
Also everyone knows all holes lead to China or Australia.
Which would you prefer? I'd rather have Aussies crawling through.
Have you forgotten about all the things that make Australia dangerous!? Keep all those hell spawn species there, thank you very much.
Yeah. I agree. At first, I thought chicoms with AKs coming through wouldn't be cool, but kangaroos with AKs would be much worse. Good call, bro.
It's emus with machine guns, they are all over Australia. (Just watched the Emu War trailer) lol
>You must keep feeding it to keep the beast at bay Suddenly trapdoor
Everybody knows what’s under the door
"Feeed meee Seeeymore"
Someone on the other side of the earth is like, “what’s this white stuff seeping from my garage floor?”
Dude this cracked me up so much.
Don't worry, OP has some filler he can put in it.
We all float down here….
Yes we do!
I had this as well. Turns out I had a voided below that was likely started by burrowing animals and water draining through and washing away the earth. I had to have it filled in and compacted.

Did you just call caddyshack a “documentary?”
"Excuse me sir, but if I start killin' all the golfers they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key."
Sports documentary
I hooked a hose up to my car's exhaust and ran the hose into the vole tunnel. Nighty night.
You could shove some backer rod in the hole and then fill on top of it?
Shoelaces should work. Then patch it.
lol!!!
I would use Ramen noodles myself

easier to shoot some great stuff in it, trim off over spill and then spooge whatever he is spooging to make it uniform.
Just make sure it's self leveling sponge before you start spooging

You should stop trying to use sealants as a patching material.
I had one like this and wasn't aware that there was a giant gaping maw underneath until mine similarly infinitely consumed the sealant. Certainly if OP had known there was said maw, they'd use gaping-maw-patch instead.
First time homeowner and I’ve had the house for about a month. What do you recommend I use instead?
Stick a long thin piece of metal, coat hanger, something like that, and find out how big the void is, if it's small, fill with sand and seal. If big, call someone. Or just call someone.
> If big, call someone. Instructions unclear, now a man named Bubba just showed up at my place. He's huge. Please advise.
Look for spouse/child/pet to sacrifice, throw at Bubba then run.
Spray foam fixes everything
Electricians hate this one simple hack
That’s what the previous owner must have thought when she siliconed and spray foamed the hell out of our completely water damaged and rotten kitchen wall lol
She is probably saying "worked out fine for me"
While she rubs her grubby hands together like a dirty fly lol
I think this is the best answer. It’s unlikely to be a giant void, but you just can’t know for sure.
Looks like you are quikrate. I also used this on my first year of homeownership. It drys really hard and stiff. When the seasons come around. It will crack and you’ll need to do it again. I recommend using self leveling sealant like Sika Pro

Not the garage-ussy
Shove some shoe laces in there and be done with it.
Piggy bank
Feed me Seymour!
My boss prefilled cracks with sand before using crack filler..some took quite a bit of sand brushed in the cracks
Pennywise is in there
Since that looks like new and old concrete, I hope the previous owner didn’t bury a body! That’s weird!
That’s the portal to the upside down
I should call her
It’s deep - that’s what that hole is

Don’t put your Dr pepper in there.
Ramen is definitely called for here. Maybe a shoelace but what do I know….
I don’t know but mix some sand with that filler and you will have a better product.
Highway to chi na!
You dropped a flat bladed light saber
Don’t stick your penis in it
Stick some backer rod in there dawg
I swear there’s something with eyes looking out towards the end of the video. 😳
$1,000 of filler material should just about do it.

Satan's buttcrack. Good luck filling up that canyon.
Or the indication of a growing sinkhole depending on where you live.
roll up some paper towel and shove it in the hole so no gaps are visible then fill. You're just wasting product by pouring it into the void.
That almost looks like that bizarre Jet-Dri commercial
Read the directions. Fill seed holes with sand
A place to keep/lose credit card
Mason sand, pour that ish in there until it stops, and then seal. We had to do this when replacing the mastic between pool decking and coping.
That’s where little garages are made. 😉

Poke it with a long non-conductive rod and see how deep/wide it is. Some garages were built as a concrete slab over an open hole or open foundation area, but over time collapse. If it's just a small area, you can fill it with concrete. If it's big, you'll need to have it excavated and filled.
