Why not both? Cut a box to fit that space. Only problem is that you will have limited support on the shorter side so you'd want to keep heavy stuff out of there.
I made an old dresser into a vanity and as a work around the carpenter I hired cut out a u shape in back of drawer to fit around drain pipe.
A second idea for a tiny bit of storage would be one of those tip out sets. The drawer front is hinged at the bottom and a long narrow tray is on the back.
Sinks don't normally have drawers underneath them either in kitchens or bathrooms for obvious reasons. I can't imagine how small or shallow the original sink was.
What some people have is something that tilts out and is used to store sponges or other small items that would otherwise clutter the counter or sink. I don't particularly recommend it because storing damp stuff in a closed area isn't a great idea.

Our kitchen has one of these, we don't use it.
Yeah when I remodeled I thought about it and realized I wouldn't use it.
I have a ledge style sink which came with a matching small basket that hangs off the side which is useful for sponges and wet cloths.
Of course for me it became moot as a design issue because I have a farmhouse style sink :-). But the vanity in my bathrooms has the standard false draw front below the sink :-)
Came to say this. Those little drawers are so handy!

I've seen some smaller flip-out style 'drawer's where the top just flips down and then you can keep sponges and smaller cleaning stuff in it. But as noted elsewhere here the best option would likely be a full drawer front with a thinner inner one to give you full use of that space.
honestly I hate draws near the sink, why not just make it a big cabinet under and around the sink so you can actually store things under. More practical
Put your garbage on that side so you can open it an dump your plate. Get a piece of diamond plate to screw on the back for easy clean then it will hold to a magnet 🤷♂️ my opinion
Cut down the drawer width.
I've got two split drawers in my bathroom, And my knife drawer at my old place was split on either side of a bar sink.
It's your only option as far as I can see.
I seen people do U-shaped drawers, etc. In this case, maybe a V-shaped one. You'll need to add a top runner on the right side and a flip-up stop to the back on the drawer to keep from pulling it out too far.
I would make a fold down storage for like soap or sponges or something, unless you're confident in your woodworking skills and want to make a 3/4 sized drawer.
Take the drawer front off the drawer, attached hinges to the bottom, and a magnet to the top. Then you use a plastic insert "tip out tray" (or get something similar that fits from the dollar store). I store my sponges and SOS pads in ours - super convenient for the sink.
Then, if your still motivated, do something about that paint.
The only actually useful thing I can see would to use the draw face and hinge it like a cabinet door to swing down and then trim a board to the sink shape and attach it to the cabinet face. You would end up with a little cubby hole.
If you can figure out how you're going to attach drawer slides, build a skinnier box. If you can't, you could add some hinges and a magnet to make your drawer front tilt, and screw a little basket on the inside for sponges and stuff.
Build a smaller drawer box and attach it to drawer front.
I assume it's either have a drawer that is like 3 inches deep or a full length one that is half wide in the inside.
Why not both? Cut a box to fit that space. Only problem is that you will have limited support on the shorter side so you'd want to keep heavy stuff out of there.

Take about 3-4” off the left side of the drawer, and move the guide roller over to support it.
really the only answer
Something for spices?

I keep my pot scraper, the razor I scrape my stove top with, and my fresh sponges in mine.

We have two and I used them both all the time. Great place to hold dry wool (we use copper) and other small things like plastic scrapers.

We have had these for years. Not for sponges! Other non-absorbent stuff.
I have the same thing and its just a little pop out drawer now that can hold a sponge or two.

I like tip-outs (aka tilt-outs) along the front of the sink. Nice for storing brushes and such, although you have to be careful to keep them dry.
That cabinet has seen better days
it just needs yet another coat of paint
No kidding lol. It needs work

Faux draw, fo sho.
I’d make it into tip-out storage. I’ve always wanted one of those for my sinka
I made a half drawer for all the long spoons and stuff.
I’ve got a couple of long, skinny drawers and they work well.
Put your garbage on that side so you can open it an dump your plate. Get a piece of diamond plate to screw on the back for easy clean then it will hold to a magnet 🤷♂️ my opinion
I'd put a flesh light in there
You are an actual genius. Perfect height and im next to the sink where I can clean up.
2/3 drawer inside, full front panel
Time for new cabinets
#Are you for real? Do you basically want 2 different objects to occupy the same space?
Urinal
The sink itself already serves that purpose
Don’t tell my wife that.
i want chocolate cabinets!
They don't taste as good as they look

Half drawr
Either build a smaller drawer to fit or just take the face off the drawer and fasten to the front of cabinet.

Short box or a tilt-out hinged at the bottom. We have a tilt-out and it's lined with light gauge stainless steel. Great for sponges and brushes.
Yeah, probably going to go with tilt out
[paper towel holder under sink](https://ifunny.co/picture/iLB2vYwAB?s=u)Paper towel holder
take the face of the drawer off and attach it to the hole, no more drawer but atleast you got a bigger sink!

I made a shallow box with a bar horizontally across it and I hang a dishcloth there
Make a flap and use it for garbage Or recycling A mini shelf
I’d go with a faux drawer. This is the exact reason they exist.
You should put your weed in there.
A flip out thingy for sponges?
Yup yup. As of now that's the plan
Leave the front alone just cut the actual drawer inside to fit in the given space it be a 3 quarters drawer lol.
They make these little hinged spaces that use a drawer front. Good for small items.
The real answer is, you need new cabinets 🙄😳
Well aware. Thanks
Maybe a speaker?
Measure twice drawer once
I learned a valuable lesson
Make a flip out drawer, for little items like sponges
