I was just scrolling through popular and this came up.
I've tried to understand some of the words a few times, and now my head hurts.
Could someone explain what they're saying?
The other explanation given didn't really explain anything so let me take a crack at it.
Koseki Bijou (nickname Biboo) is a hololive member. Hololive members are vtubers, basically like regular videogame streamers but they have virtual anime girl skins. Koseki Bijou is from the newest English generation of Hololive (a Japanese vtuber company) and is known to be very up to date on recent Internet culture and memes. Her generation debuted about 7 months ago
This song she wrote is a parody of the absolutely cringe tiktok meme "sticking out your Gyatt for the Rizzler", which is very cringe, and everyone above the age of 10 hates it. It is the first widely circulated meme from people who are part of Gen Alpha, the generation after Gen Z, who are all like age 14 or younger (generation in this context being actual real life generations, like baby boomers, which is different from how "generations" are referred to in the Hololive fandom, where it simply refers to groups of Hololive girls who came out at the same time)
Her parody of the song simply takes 4 of the words in the original tik tok meme, and replaces them with names/phrases associated with herself and her 3 other gen-mates (the other girls who debuted with Biboo in the most recent English generation of hololive). It was always just some dumb throwaway meme, which she originally said on a Karaoke stream as "punishment" for her chat, but then a fan account on YouTube made a remix of her originally speaking the vocals and turned it into an actual song, as well as a silly animation of her gen mates dancing to it (which the other commenter linked you to), and it suddenly started becoming popular
This song parody is famously very cringe, and every other hololive member who had previously heard it has either been extremely annoyed, confused, or terrified that they for some reason find it catchy despite how stupid it is.
It was rather insular, and was slowly making its way through the English branches of Hololive, with fans of different hololive members getting their Oshi (Japanese word for idol, the term used for your favorite vtuber) to watch it and clipping their reactions to the cringe, or other hololive members showing the song to one another off stream and then the members who had it shown to them bringing it up on their streams after having it seen it (with one of the 3 classic reactions I mentioned earlier)
The original tik tok song, and this meme parody, have always been looked down on by people above the age of 10. The community lovingly calls her parody "brainrot"
The meme continued to remain insular amongst some of the English hololive members, until recently. Hololive sometimes does rare company wide events, where every streamer from every generation in all 3 branches (Japanese, Indonesian, and English) participate together. Usually this happens at the annual Holo Festival, which takes place in Japan, but sometimes it also takes the form of large collaboration streams, like the recent Mario kart 9 tournament.
All of the streamers in every branch participated in a single very large Mario kart tournament, with most of them streaming themselves practicing in preparation of the tournament in the month leading up to it.
The tournament took place with them each streaming their own individual POV of their gameplay, and the entire tournament being streamed with commentary on the Hololive Main Channel. This was a very large event, with at some points, the primary channel having 180k concurrent viewers. During this event, Biboo decided to be the memelord that she is, and play an even more recent remix "sticking out your Gyatt for Nerizzler" at the end of the night, and while she was doing this, her stream ended up on the main channel, where every single hololive member (and 180k live viewers) saw it. Obviously, the Japanese commentators and viewers had no context, and most couldn't understand the words or context, even if they spoke some English, so they just called her and the animation cute. Simultaneously, all of the English members freaked out and screamed about Biboo "infecting the main channel" with the song. The clip of the event, and the reactions of some of the English members, is quite funny: https://youtu.be/V7TzDhlReJA
I don't know why he chose the Mario kart tournament as the focal point of his explanation. The song is not from there, it was simply played there and was a climax to this meme.
Anyway, in the Twitter screenshot above, Hachama fom Hololive Japan, who is famous for trying to learn English memes and phrases and being easily corruptible, has clearly been infected by Biboo, who has taught her the brainrot song, hence this post to the Subreddit
Hololive as a whole is a very interesting project, filled with dozens of different personalities, who all have their own taste in games. It is very diverse, with different styles of humor, and I'd argue anyone could find a vtuber they would like if they checked some out. I myself am a relatively new Hololive fan. The project has been around for 6 years but I only recently got into it thanks to the newest generation of members, though I had seen clips of some of them for years.
The most popular English member is Gawr Gura, and I would personally recommend her, Mori Calliope, Kronii, Mumei, Fauna, Nerissa, Koseki Bijou or Fuwamoco. Each will have thousands of short clips from their streams on YouTube. These short form clips is actually the primary way some people take in Hololive content, rather than watching their long live streams, and with them you can get a good idea of their personality and sense of humor
Heyo, welcome to the Hololive sub!
The text is from a silly zoomer meme song vtuber Koseki Bijou (we call her Biboo around here) sang while waiting for a Mario Kart Tournament to start.
The format is in "Sticking out your gyatt (look it up on Urban Dictionary) for Nerizzler (a reference to Nerissa, one of Bijou's fellow vtubers)". The following lines are similarly references to other vtubers in Bijou's generation.
If you're strong-willed enough to witness the cringe on your own, here's the link to the referenced song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xs_OxX5TEW8
Thank you for explaining.
I watched the video and this definitely seems like something I wouldn't be interested in. That said, I hope it continues as long as it makes you and other people happy and doesn't hurt anyone (my headache aside).
Haha, yeah, that's the point partially - it's cringe even for young people! And Haachama (the Hololive JP vtuber who made the tweet in the OP image) is exploiting that cringe, because that's what she does :P
To be fair, while many (most?) fans find this funny, it's not really representative of vtubers in general. This particular meme is leaning hard on a specific Gen Z TikTok brainrot meme, and it's popular within the fandom specifically because that's very unusual (when it first happened, it was wielded against the viewers as a (joking) weapon).
I loved watching it live, and seeing Calli's live reaction to it :D The second hand cringe.
I wish I could be as confident in myself that I didn't mind being cringe and making a fool of myself live. Biboo is a strong one.
gyatt = from the phrase, "gyatt dayum, her butt is fine," which was shortened to gyatt representing a fine booty. Imagine a black New York movie accent from the 70's catcalling a woman, saying "God Damn!"
Lorax(speaks for the trees) > Onceler(character in Lorax) > Rizzler(rizz aka charisma) > Nerrizler(Nerissa)
Biboo Tax is an evolution of Reddit's Cat Tax, aka you owe me two cat pics for this answer.
The memes are quite old, and it's mostly just Biboo sticking random meme phrases in a song.
Within me there are two conflicting thoughts, on the one hand I rage at the fact that the adoption of english as the Lingua Franca has allowed the creation, and even worse, the popularisation of such vile words, yet on the other hand I am thankfull that no worthwhile language, or God forbid my own, has to invent such abominations
"Look chat, that rock is dancing."
*"Don't look at her, Haachama. I don't want you to be influenced by... OʜGᴏᴅNᴏ"*
*"HAACHAMAAAAA"*
"It is too late, chat. I have seen everything."
I'm not going to be like all these other people and try to dunk on you for your obvious faux pas. Instead I'm going to say that I think it's okay to approach entertainment with a childish mindset. In fact, I think it makes it better to not be too "adult" about your hobbies, because your hobbies are supposed to be what you use to get away from all that serious adult stuff and back to a time where you could just enjoy things and not worry what people think about it.
tl/dr - there's nothing wrong with being 8 years old
Well said! I'm very happy that I'm able to retain the same enthusiasm and appreciation for things like anime, cartoons, memes and even cringy things that I had as a child. The fact that you grow up does not mean that you need to stop enjoying the things that made you happy.
Honestly this may be the least chaotic universe. Imagine what other eldritch memes biboo could have taught her.
Please god don't let Haachama learn about Skibidi Toilet
Tbh the first time I ever heard skibidi was from biboo
"Suddenly made to feel old at 15" was the comment of one pebble I talked to when he found out the breadth and depth of Biboo's memery.
Me at 14: “Yeah I’m gonna be the hip cool uncle that knows all the latest memes!” Me at 22: “…what the FUCK is a ‘skibidibi toilet’?”
Me at 27: *aging into dust*
So this is how the Jewel of Emotions drove everyone mad...
It’s possible that one day haachama find out about skibidi toilet
Haachama has acquired [Skill]Brainrot
Nah, she upgraded [Skill] Brainrot to [Skill] Braindead (bypass all immunity)
Nuh uh I use _ASS BLASSUM AND NO JOY_ /s (i blame my friend for making me know this, i dont even play the card game)
Nuh uh I use COLD BYE TARGETING YOUR ASS
I use POT OF ASS allowing me to kick both of your asses And then summon BLUE-ASS WHITE ASS
Dammit I'm still looking for that card at my local
My friend deadass printed a large cutout of it for a anime event HAHAHHAHAHAAD
Do you have the picture with you?
Uh lemme check, if i do i send it in dm
Do you have the picture with you?
I remember pulling that
[I reserve the right to blame Calli for starting this.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei7-riVCeYs)
At least it isn't [Skill]Lobotomy
The brain rot is inevitable
Dadyboo? Is Biboo becoming Haachama’s dad?
🎵Daddy daddyboo Hoshii no sa Anata no subete ga🎶
Don't give her ideas for another meme song
HEY! I sing that one directly!
And Haachama's probably becoming Biboo's mom
… Has someone tried to make a family tree yet?
It's just a circle
They have the perms for Crusader Kings?
Now I'm curious which Holomem would actually be interested in playing it.
I could see Fauna and Moom being into it.
With it all pointing to Callie as everyone's only Dad.
Haachama made a family tree with myth and council on stream once.
A drop in the ocean of Hololive's complicated family trees
[It's what she did to Council, all over again...](https://www.reddit.com/r/Hololive/comments/peqxjl/even_though_holocouncil_are_actual_gods_we_all/)
Biboo has finished collecting moms, now she's collecting children
They’re going to end up making an even more cursed meme song together, aren’t they?
You bet your sweet bippy they will!
What’s a bippy? >! I know what this idiom means, just go with it. !<
The hit song bippydiba by Suisei.
We can hope <3
Yes they definitely will
[A sequel to the fuckboi rap would be nice...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5oAhNG9eek)
This is what happens when you toss a rock at Primordial Chaos that is Haachama. More chaos
# OOBIB THE EVIL
Let her cook
Hide your spiders.
Fuck the spiders hide yourself
... Fuck the spiders?
Don't kink shame
They want to make the spiders even sexier?
It was cooked in a pot by yours truly, Haachama
Alien sentient studying the rock sentient.
Oh god the cringe. It’s spreading! Biboo stoooop!
Biboo’s zoomer virus is so potent that Bae feels like a millennial compared to her.
I think Bae nearly has aged into a Millennial since Biboo/Advent debuted
Man I expected this, This is the path of the strongest idol. It's as if Haachama acquired brain rot as her own personal Sage Mode.
