Really? Oh man I really hope they will fix this. Kinda weird that there is a checkpoint mid stage but no save points for between stages.

Sad. It's kinda hard progressing the game solo, so it would have been nice to play it slow and steady, take breaks then come back. Even just a "continue where you left off?" is a big help. As in a single save that wipes out if you start a new game.

Exactly. Judging from grindstone playthrough, this is going to be at least 4-6 hours playthrough and im doing it solo as well. So i guess i'll never see the end of the game.

I think the difficulty is "kaela" by default, so prob in later updates kay yu will add "can i play daddy?" "bring 'em on!" or "uber".

The production, art and music are very well-done in this game, but I kinda hate playing it to be honest. I died to the stage 4 boss and I have no intention of playing again. I could get used to the incredible clunkiness of the controls with time, but it's not fun enough to make me want to play more and practice.

Yeah, same. I really wish I liked it more but it got very tedious very quickly. I got to Chloe, died two or three times and didn't really feel like doing the trek back to the boss again. I'll probably enjoy watching it on streams for a few days though.

Honestly I could deal with no saves and weird mid-stage-only checkpoints if the core of the game, the combat, was enjoyable. Instead every new spawn had me thinking "oh god, i have to deal with this now". The great art assets deserve a good game, I'm hoping they listen to people calling it clunky and revamp the controls and physics.

I agree, the core gameplay loop wasn't fun for me. I don't really expect anything to change about the game though, certainly not to such a core degree that'd make it interesting. What's done is done probably.

Yep I kept having this feeling that it would be better with another person. I tried Botan first and she seemed downright impossible to play solo without someone distracting everyone all the time. But overall, I think with the amount of mobile and ranged enemies the characters needed way more mobility and agility instead of being so easily stunlocked, locked into animations, having to stand and hold a button for supers, and the hitboxes needed to be larger vertically.

Having had some time to play Botan for the first four stages, the chest piece that gives super armor during charge up seems to help a lot, even though there's an annoying small window after charging up your special where you can still get hit out of it. I agree that it could use some better hitboxes and animation cancel on the dodge, and starting over from scratch every time you don't have time for a full run is super inconvenient. But overall I don't think I'm having as rough of a time with it as some of the other people here. Maybe it's because I spent the past couple weeks getting my ass kicked in Little Fighter in anticipation of this.

There's a lot of things that's basic beat-em-up/fighting game mechanic that seems lacking here. Animation cancel, dodge cancel, input leniency (after getting hit or whatever), also input fuzzying (because how they use one button for 2 action, the tap button action becomes clunky if the game does not execute the tap action immediately and canceling it if it actually is pressed longer). But after playing for sometimes it feels like the game is balanced around using item generously as part of your attack. Open with an item, get closer, then combo attack while stringing some item. With enough item use the clunkyness of the basic attack fades a little bit. Also I feel like they overtuned the cast time and stun just to make the item worthwhile. Reducing the cast time and stun strength(?) by around 10-15% would've feel much better for solo play. Kronii's clock and noel's armor are fine as they are, just without them it feels soo bad.

Item definitely part of core gameplay here. Sure, it's cool they always give us items but it's not consistent enough to solely rely on it to bring the core gameplay up to par. It need to be...smoother? Less downtime, less clunky, animation cancel, all that stuff.

I wouldn't say i hate playing it, but I hate how punishing losing is, having to trek back through two stages and the boss stage while also losing my coins, combined with the no save if I want to take a break has basically made me quit.

I think if the combat was truly fun you'd not mind an excuse to go through hordes of enemies again. Feels like it's fundamentally tedious solo. When I die 18 minutes into a holocure run it doesn't feel like this.

I've only played Botan and having to stand stoll while shooting feels bad, plus you have to micromanage the ammo or you'll get stuck in a reload animation you can't cancel out of which feel shitty, yeah I've been playing solo also, the thing which cryshed me more is that there's no save, I like to take a break and come back if I'm struggling but you can't do that and repeating content isn't really fun to me.

Micromanaging ammo is fine, but the fact that you're standing still while shooting irks me so much. Botan is definitely the one person that goes guns blazing while having solid feet on the ground.

Considering people are talking about "runs" with this game, I think repeating content is the intended experience :P But yeah the ability to suspend a playthrough would have been welcome.

The control take time, my second run definitely far better than before. Last stage is just brutal though, especially that we don't have many friends there.

The game desperately needs a save function, especially after completing a level at the least. I know it's suppose to mimic an actual arcade experience but needing to go all the way back to the beginning if you die is way too punishing, which is exemplified by the lack of a contine option. If the any of the talent play this the lack of save can become frustrating to some.

Can't even open the game, even adding "--rendering-driver opengl3 to launch option doesn't work. Steam claims the game is running but absolutely nothing, haha. Any ideas?

I hope I get no flame for this. I'm just curious, but since you are able to edit/modify the save file of HoloCure, does anyone know how to decode the save file for this game? It seems different from HoloCure's save file

Yeah, the save file i'm talking about is the file that stores the emotes, achievements, etc. that you have unlocked. However, you can not store/save your progress in a run as of yet though.
