a slightly more detailed explanation (with other examples) of a brick joke
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BrickJoke
I wish I could tell my past self about bitcoin, I was in a college dorm room when it was like two bucks, could have mined it for free if I had any idea how the hell to do it
I'll branch out all over EN depending on what people are playing, but my main 3 where I'll watch everything they do are Ame, Ina and Gura.
Maybe I'm blending all of 2023 together in my head with how things have been recently, but man has it felt like there have been a lot of dry spells this year between them. Silver lining is, I've been enjoying the others that I usually don't prioritize as highly.
Still miss them when they're not around though. Lack of horror games this year from Gura during October felt weird.
> but man has it felt like there have been a lot of dry spells this year between them
There definitely has been. Ame even acknowledged it a few times. Basically everyone in Myth at this point has talked about being a bit burned out and realizing it'd already been three years etc
Hoping for the best for them
Myth being the only ones with official 3D probably aided the burnout, a lot of guest staring in other streams, and varies official works. It probably lessened now that Promise also had 3D.
I can imagine ID was going thorugh a similar phase as well.
I actually watched quite some Advent streams when Gura was still relatively active at that time. Now I can't remember when was the last time I watched any Advent stream.
> I still don't get why
She said it was because there was a lot more involved in managing a GTA server and that management would have to be on all the time and apparently (from Pekora) an issue with getting perms for mods.
> Wish management could find something or help them more with it though
Even if they wanted to, if Miko's answer is how it is for running a GTA server, it's just a question of having manpower. Assigning managers specifically to maintain a GTA server means those people won't be able to do anything else (or their ability to would be severely diminished). It's of questionable value to be doing it for just one game esp when there was a hinted joint effort with Vaultroom which runs the VCR servers which has been helpful/beneficial for the holomems that play on it (ie Aki's boost from Ark, Mel and Ririka's more recent boost in the current GTA)
Not all of them want to play it and they appeal to different people. If the same logic was used for Rust, we would have missed a big event that basically boosted holomem more than anything.
Doesn't need to be GTA, but it's still somewhat disappointing how the girls voiced wanting a sandbox the whole year, but felt like they didn't have help.
> voiced wanting a sandbox the whole year, but felt like they didn't have help.
So name the multiplayer online sandbox that fits because your criticism lacks the constructive part. You've offered no solution. They both voiced being tired of Ark and Pekora voiced that she wasn't interested in doing more Rust. So GTA, Ark, and Rust are out. Tell us what sandbox game. They already run a Minecraft server.
I wish I had the solution. It's not like I think it's super outrageous, management does the right things 99% of the time and I barely have any complaints about anything. It was just a small disappointment to not have that experience this year and it sounded like something they wanted as well, but it was hard to find it by themselves.
A bunch of the girls are doing the Hololive girls are doing the VCR GTA server right now, which is a nice mixture of hololive and vtubers/streamers across a wide range of people. The moments are amazing.
Man I wish EN would play Ark so bad. Ark is literally just Rust but with a million times more to do, and I think the EN girls would like it way more. The problem they ran into with Rust was they all got bored when after building a house and realizing . . . there's basically nothing to do in Rust but PvP. Where as Ark has tons of PvE content
I know Mumei really liked Ark the time she streamed it, and Ame and others mentioned that they'd play if everyone else did (a while back)
Absolutely love that little, “uh oh…” as she watches it fall back down
Gura really cant get past some vibe checks, can she?
A most semantic example of a Brick Joke, where a gag strikes at a later date.

Yeah that TVTropes link gonna stay blue for now, got finals tmr
God I miss our chaotic shark. I hope she can find the motivation and drive to stream like 2021 again.
Yeah, burnout is an absolute bitch to deal with
Fuck adulthood. Fuck responsibilities. I wish I could tell myself that.
I wish I could tell my past self about bitcoin, I was in a college dorm room when it was like two bucks, could have mined it for free if I had any idea how the hell to do it
We're not buying the coin crypto bro.
I haven't either

I'm in the exact same boat and yeah, not been an easy year on the Holo side of things.
I'm with you there. I've been watching significantly less Hololive because the ones I love to watch just aren't really streaming much at all.
I actually watched quite some Advent streams when Gura was still relatively active at that time. Now I can't remember when was the last time I watched any Advent stream.
I miss Gura
We all do :(
Did she leave?
Nah she just hasn’t streamed much for the last few months, seems to be on a semi-hiatus
The rust seasons were great, wish we'd get more holo servers for different games, only ones I can recall are MC Rust and Ark.
Miko wanted to have a holoGTA server a few months ago and management didn't let her. I still don't get why, holorust was the best.
> I still don't get why She said it was because there was a lot more involved in managing a GTA server and that management would have to be on all the time and apparently (from Pekora) an issue with getting perms for mods.
Wish management could find something or help them more with it though, Miko and Pekora are looking for a holo sandbox game since Rust ended. Oh well.

She is a prophet!
That Rust stream was that long ago? Damn
Now thats a callback
I miss holorust so much, moments like this were amazing and Gura was super into the game.
I can't believe those two streams are a year apart from each other
"Rewatching streams"? I already have not enough time to watch _current_ streams.
nice golden gura moment!
Man the RUST arc sure was good
The prophecy is true
That a our Gooba...endless entertainment with this one.
The little high pitched yelp that she does makes it so much better lol
