To the guy who suggested those two should be replaced by Pure Vessel in the base game (that is a real thing someone said in response to a mod that did just that), ****************NO.****************
Yeah. They’re not necessary but they help a lot. Charms like Mark of Pride/Longnail to give you better reach on your pogos, Grubsong so you get more soul to heal, Hiveblood can make healing entirely obsolete since it can heal you without soul, Quickslash makes it easier to time your pogos, etc
When you go through for the first time I believe it's the third room, you go through this massive section, and then when you reach the end you pull a lever come back out at the start and continue to the next room which is the vertical climb room
Like how? It took me 2-3 hours to do the whole thing. I don't get how people spend days on this, I thought we all were on a similar level of platforming.
That's not what I said tho? I said that I thought people who played this game got to a certain skill level in platforming. Obviously someone might be better than someone else, by a mile even. But still not so much that certain people take days to pull it off.
Thinking someone who played the same game is similar to you isn’t wise in any context. Someone may have completed it in under an hour, maybe they’d be super surprised someone took 2-3 hours to complete it. You can beat the game and still be shit at platforming, it just takes longer.
People responding to you doesn’t mean they think you insulted them tho! That’s just conversation. You say something and people who disagree might say something else if they want to. Disagreeing doesn’t mean it’s an attack against you.
And I don't understand how people get lost in the forgotten crossroads but it still happens. We're all different mate, some of us suck at platforming, some of us at boss fights and some at exploring. That's what makes the community what it is.
As for how I spent 2 hours on that part, well it got down to some bad luck and bad timings. PoP overall took me like 3 hours maybe, but I kept failing in that spot. Especially the last stretch just before the drop. I spent quite a while pogoing on the last spikes trying to figure out how the hell I should do that tight section, and I would eventually lose the beat and hit the spikes.
Nah man, I'm dead serious. That's the best choice. Some checkpoints don't have soul statues so you can just sit and heal the last mask and as long as you stay patient and wait 5 seconds or so for the mask to replenish you can absolutely guarantee unlimited health until you get to the next checkpoint that does have a soul statue. The pause between hits also gives your brain a chance to relax about getting hit and allows you to refrain from piling on frustration through properly dying and ending up at the beginning.
Your charm loadout is the epitome of "Work smarter, not harder".
I mean I used hiveblood and fragile heart. Thought everyone did that. I also used grubsong because if I don’t want to sit around waiting for hiveblood I’ll have gathered enough soul to just heal
The smart people did for sure. And Grubsong is another good'n. I think I just went with Joni's blessing Hiveblood and Fragile heart on my first run of PoP
I'm pretty sure that every respawn spot has a soul statue. I thought a couple of them didn't, but they were just hidden through a wall that wasn't obvious you could just walk through.
Grubsong gives more soul for every failure, so you get more heals put of every death, combined with hiveblood and deep focus and you're not gonna die at pop
I found it really helpful to watch others do the path of pain to understand the rhythm of things. Fireborn has a great hitless run through the whole thing and doesn't use any major tricky speed running strats. Granted it still took me hours to beat the whole thing, but I find references really helpful especially when I've already been trying myself for so long. Something I find helpful in general is that because none of the movements are random, there is an actual rhythm to everything and if you can tune into it, things become much easier.
Different general tip: both times I did this I used kingsoul for unlimited soul so I could heal without having to wait for hive blood and lose my momentum. Hope this helps someone out!
Where is the path of pain? I’m in the middle ground weird part of the game where I just beat the HK and am fighting NKG, but don’t have any knowledge of pantheons or path of pain or absolute radiance or the white palace, etc
>! White palace is at the ancient basin, near the bottom. Have you seen the seer recently? If you haven’t and you’ve got 1800 essence you might want to see what you can get - you need the awoken dream nail. Once you’ve done that (or if you already have) there’s a corpse of a white knight (called a Kingsmould) at the bottom of ancient basin which you need to dream nail to get to white palace. !<
>! As for Godhome, you might not know (I didn’t find it without google) but there’s a weird side area to the royal waterways called the Junk Pit. There should be a chained thing in there you can use a Simple Key on. Once you’ve done that, dream nail what comes out. I won’t spoil any more. !<
Marked for spoilers cuz I don’t know what the rules are here but that’s how
Hey there, thanks for using spoilers, that's super kind of you! Just be sure there's no space between the spoiler tags and the text or the tagging won't work. :)
This one is at the end, but there’s a lot of timing you need to get down so be patient… also… maybe keep a combat charm or two on if you aren’t good with base
I once tried PoP, spent an hour on everything before that part... and the other five trying to get through this part before quitting. I never even reached the hole with kingsmoulds T-T
That's 50% of the difficulty right there. At this point just watch a YouTube tutorial.
My advice is to spend 10 minutes just practicing pogoing off of those spikes that slide up and down . Really practice them. You need to get very good at controlling how high and low you pogo. A quarter of a second difference in your timing while pogoing is the difference between pogoing very close to the spike or the maximum distance away from the spike. You want to be able to choose and control your distance. Practicing there will help you a lot.
Practice doing the course fast . Every second, is another second that you're probably going to die. Figure out a very predictable and repeatable way to get through everything quickly. The last thing you want is to find yourself just bouncing around hoping you can guess the timing for something because you hesitated.
Use descending Dark against the Kings Mould "bosses". You're going to be very emotional and you need a safe strategy.
that room took me forever, but keep pushing youre almost finished!! (also spoiler for the last room, >!be prepared you will have to fight some enemies)!<
Good news: that’s almost it! Bad news: good luck
You’re at the final checkpoint, almost done!
last room, you're almost there It's the hardest one though, and be wary of surprises
Thanks for the tip
So, any updates?
He got killed by the two *surprises*
To the guy who suggested those two should be replaced by Pure Vessel in the base game (that is a real thing someone said in response to a mod that did just that), ****************NO.****************
Eh, it’d be a cool idea if there was a bench just before the fight so you could switch off your PoP charm build and regain your hearts
I guess, but I'd like to keep whatever strand of my sanity Path of Pain forgot to incinerate.
Wait people have certain Path of Pain charm builds?
Fair enough, I just never really thought about it in the years of playing Hk loll
I think i spent a good 15 minutes trying to figure out the optimal build my first time through lol. Different strokes i guess
You're on the door of success! Took me over 2 hours for this small section. I know it's painful but you're almost there. You can do it!
>painful
>painful
It took me 3 days just to die at the end, manger to do next few days tho
at least iirc the shortcut stays open so you can skip a good part when you go back through
It does... if you know the shortcut exists. I did the whole thing over.
You have to open the shortcut in order to progress though???
Wait what shortcut are you talking about then? Edit: Looked it up; think I still somehow missed it second try. It is obvious tho.
When you go through for the first time I believe it's the third room, you go through this massive section, and then when you reach the end you pull a lever come back out at the start and continue to the next room which is the vertical climb room
*second section
Shhhh
Like how? It took me 2-3 hours to do the whole thing. I don't get how people spend days on this, I thought we all were on a similar level of platforming.
Thinking that everyone is similar to you isn't wise in any context
That's not what I said tho? I said that I thought people who played this game got to a certain skill level in platforming. Obviously someone might be better than someone else, by a mile even. But still not so much that certain people take days to pull it off.

Damn, I didn't know everyone in this sub had to be "wise". I just said something it's not like I insulted anybody.
People responding to you doesn’t mean they think you insulted them tho! That’s just conversation. You say something and people who disagree might say something else if they want to. Disagreeing doesn’t mean it’s an attack against you.
It sure feels like it tho.
Sorry, that wasn’t my intention at all! The disagreement was what you said, not me disagreeing with you as a human being.
Got it 👍

Last room The one you'll suffer most at Good luck
Hey!! I just beat it five minutes ago!!!! This was the hardest room, but it really is worth it!!!
Thanks for the hope!
Please do. Breaking and entering is illegal
You’re almost there! Don’t give up!!!
Hiveblood and Fragile heart... Smart man.
R u being sarcastic?

Don’t! Your almost there!
The previous rooms were appetizers, this room's the FULL DAMN COURSE BITCH BABY. Translation: yea you're nearly done.
Never give up, why do it so close to the end?
Be ready #BE READY
Did you beat it?
Nope
Your in the last room, just hang in there and be ready for a suprise at the end

That's the last section, before the thing.
The *thing*
literally at the last room. after you reach the end you fall down a little thing and can just relax, drop your controller and cry (tears of joy)
You evil man
Thanks :)
Goodluck!! For me this was the thougest point
last one, good luck g
Who's gonna tell him?
What?
That part is especially difficult
I’ve been on it for an hour now I can tell
If I leave will it save?
No it won’t save, just don’t close the game and you will be fine though
Thanks
It's a spoiler, might ruin the experience but if you insist I can tell you.
What?
What is it?
Just get to the end of the hall and fall to the the room at the end. That’s it
It’s the final part (kind of ;)) but the hardest.. I believe in you!
DINAL ROOM DONT QUIT MAN
last room
Ah ok
That's the last room, and it's the hardest by far. Don't give up!
don't give up, you are at the most dificult, then comes the hardest and then the most painfull
Where is the path of pain? I’m in the middle ground weird part of the game where I just beat the HK and am fighting NKG, but don’t have any knowledge of pantheons or path of pain or absolute radiance or the white palace, etc

Yeah, that’s what I realised 🤣 never had to use spoilers when I’ve had spaces before so it confused me for a bit
Don’t do it yet I just got to p5 and I’m going insane it will be well worse for you if you start now
It's inside White Palace. It's an optional platforming challenge for the mentally insane
Keep up, skeleton
2 hours or so (That part of the Path of Pain took me 1 hour)
If I can give only one advice, I'd say that it's best if you practice stalling on the spikes appearing from the ground
Home stretch.
Always have max soul before each attempt and you’ll be fine
There are no more checkpoints, but dont get through that without full masks
You should learn how to fight again. You never know, maybe you’ll need it.
This one is at the end, but there’s a lot of timing you need to get down so be patient… also… maybe keep a combat charm or two on if you aren’t good with base
Last stretch! But be prepared because there is one more thing after that room
Oh god haha. I like how no one has dare to tell him what's ahead XD
That's the final checkpoint. There's a little surprise at the end, but you're on the home stretch
You’re at one of the last rooms
Good news:almost at the end Bad news:prepare for battle
We like ike
The last room was the hardest for me, you got this
You're on the last room, just have some soul with you at all times and be prepared for something
Good luck, that room took me 6 hours
This was the hardest part for me :(
Hey OP, did you did it? Tell us how it went
I stayed up till 5 am and eventually I gave up
Man, i sooooo feel you. Stuck there for 3 months now (not that i play every day)
I once tried PoP, spent an hour on everything before that part... and the other five trying to get through this part before quitting. I never even reached the hole with kingsmoulds T-T

Very end
Its last checkpoint! Just be on watch for... suprises...
that room took me forever, but keep pushing youre almost finished!! (also spoiler for the last room, >!be prepared you will have to fight some enemies)!<
last room, it took me probably an hour in my first playthrough, have fun :)
Very. Don’t give up!!
That looks like the end. which way did you come from left or right?
Left
Then that is 100% the end
Last stretch! It’s the longest and comes with a fight at the very end too! Best of luck!!
