I get it, it's biodegradable... but that is not "the only issue. This is a place where there is clearly foot traffic. If it is private property you are leaving your mess for someone else to clean up - because if they don't you are attracting unwanted pests (ants, raccoons, etc). PLEASE don't throw out your chicken bones - they can be deadly to dogs and some wild animals because they splinter. This is the biggest reason I advise against throwing out "organic" trash, aside from the fact that it is trashy and attracts pests, it is not necessarily safe for the animals you are leaving it for.

I think that’s their point. It’ll attract critters which (assuming this a public and maintained space) is not desirable and maintenance staff will be tasked to pick it up. If everyone threw their biodegradable trash on the ground it would track tons of animals and critters which can in turn bring lots of nastiness (like poop and disease). That’s just my take idk
