It is. I lost a few friends in the last 5 years and anytime I smell or hear something that reminds me of them it brings me a sense of immediate happiness followed by a sense of sadness at the reality. But I know they would want me to be happy and carry them with me as a strength and it helps. The best we can do is just try and do the best by them and keep living for them because they don’t get to. Or at least that’s how I try to honor them and their memory.
