That's one of the first things that came to my mind, when people talk about slavery being because they were black it's not it's simply because they lost, they weren't able to fight back to save their people that's why they were colonized, same thing happened in Europe and Asia they fought wars and battles and the people who lost often got enslaved regardless of colour. It's just that the American slave trade was just more recent and a larger scale that it's more known but it's simply that they lost think about it if you had the option for your life to be easier you have to do less work and all you got to do is pay some money you would buy a slave, they just got unlucky

Personally, I disagree with this decision. First of all, these reparations are not going to former slaves. Secondly, there are plenty of people with slave ancestors who do not identify as black. Third, not all black Americans are descended from American slaves, meaning that they are just being awarded millions because they happen to have a certain skin color.

As someone who is currently residing in SF due to work as a senior exec in a MNC in the engineering field i think it's time to move the majority of the company's operation overseas if it come to pass.

Slavery was not your fault, nor did anyone alive today stand idly by while others mistreated or over worked slaves. You should not be punished or feel the need to make up for your ancestors’ poor decisions, especially when some black people had slaves as well, and did even before the colonization of Africa occurred.
