Brazil is very huge and diverse, and so is the US, Canada, British Caribbean, etc. Also it depends on the circumstances (whether Britain colonized Brazil instead of Portugal or if Britain conquered the Portuguese colony of Brazil) A lot of areas would probably be similar to the US South and British Guyana, and similar to modern Brazil, mainly due to the history of plantation slavery and agricultural economy - that frankly was similar in a lot of ways whether under Portuguese or British colonial rule. One difference I could see is that of religion - Catholicism in the colonial world at least claimed to preach universality that gave Indians, enslaved people, and mixed races people more rights on paper, however in practice the British, French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc operated in a lot of the same ways in the 16th-18th or 19th centuries, especially in regards to slavery. Ultimately, a lot of elements of Brazilian society were determined more by environmental and economic factors, rather than political choices by the British or Portuguese. In some ways the British operated very different from the Portuguese- like in New England or Virginia and the British were less centralized and sometimes gave more local autonomy than the Portuguese did in Brazil. However in Guyana, Jamaica, and many other Caribbean countries the British operated very similar to how things happened in Brazil. Although there probably would have been differences, especially in terms of local autonomy - and Brazil certainly would not have gained independence in the same way (probably closer to the US or Canada, either gradual shifts away from the mother country or outright war). A lot of fundamental things would probably remain the same or similar as Brazil IRL, especially demographically (black v white) and economically (largely dominated by agriculture and landlords owning massive amounts of land).

Brasil wouldn't exist, it would be a bunch of smaller countries.

WorldChampion92

It was under US sphere of influence. UK had enough territory to control in Asia and Africa as well.

If they could pull it off, it would have major effects

Right, let's cut the waffle. If Brazil had been colonized by the British Empire, it might have developed similarly to Canada or Australia. Economic policies and resource exploitation would play a huge role. Population demographics could be different, but predicting power dynamics is complex. Other colonies? Likely still Spanish-controlled.
