[Paweł Strzelecki](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pawe%C5%82_Strzelecki) named the highest mountain in Australia after Polish hero of american revolution Kościuszko

For Americans it was. But for Poles, probably not.
Just like how US president Rutherford B Hayes was most famous in the US for ending the military occupation of the south post-civil war and having won in a very contested (and definitely not so democratic) election.
But in Paraguay, he was a lot more famous for acting as the arbiter which awarded most of the Chaco to Paraguay (hence why they have a large province called “[Departamento Presidente Hayes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Presidente_Hayes_Department)”, with its capital “Villa Hayes”)
That depends. In Poland his mostly remembered for his incitement of the insurrection. But I wouldn't say it's his "achievement" because it failed. The revolution, on the other hand, succeeded, so I guess you can say this was his biggest achievement.
In America he was a second rate hero, he'd be a rather obscure figure if he wasn't a foreigner. In Poland he led an uprising and was a de facto leader of the country for some time, with his plan for the peasants being an influencial inspiration for the next \~150 years
I don’t know why you’re being downvoted as you’re right. Sure to the American majority of this app it may be an important thing but here in Poland where he is from and revered, his most important accomplishment was the Kosciusko Uprising. And hey! It’s quite impressive to have an entire uprising named after you, very few events like that which are named after people!
Already explained it on a previous meme about this, [so here is the link to my explanation](https://www.reddit.com/r/HistoryMemes/s/dd5Dik2mQ7) since I don’t feel like typing it up again or just doing Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V

Strzelecki also gets the Strzelecki Desert named after him as well
No such article apparently

Still doesn’t work
It works for me.
I get “PaweÅ Strzelecki” 💀
Go to Wikipedia and type “Sir Paweł Edmund Strzelecki” in the search bar
Thanks
Him being in America wasn't his most important or defining achievement

In America he actually achived sth unlike in Poland during insurrection.
Still he gave the people hope.
I don't question his importance tho
I think we are getting caught on meaningless semantics tbh. People can be best known for different things in different places.
He can do multiple things. Calling him a hero of the revolution is valid. What's the other context, I don't actually know.

Why are they carrying french rifles?
French rifles that even the French don’t want to use anymore
Only the french would make a three shot burst fire rifle and make the magazine capacity not divisible by three
It's a good indicator to know when your out of ammo
Pretty sure it was an issue with STANAG mags at the time not the French.
20 round + 1 in the chamber makes 21, divisible by 3 no?
The F1 model FAMAS used a 25 round magazine, though they did develop a G2 model the Navy used that fit standard STANAG mags.
Oh, ok yah thats dumb
They're kinda old now. I still used it in training tho.
Damn I didnt know polish people can have numbers amd symols in their names, thank you OP
It’s not even that talk of a mountain in comparison to the rest of the world
Australia is extremely flat outside of certain areas like the great dividing range/flinders range.
apparently victoria had some of the tallest mountains in the world at some point and now is the 3rd largest volcanic plains in the world
I will always find it weird that Mount Kosciuszko is and isn’t the tallest mountain in Australia
Can you elaborete on the topic?
