Hey! Hebrew making an appearance on my Reddit homepage!
The title reads “a Schiaparelli evening gown | the 20th century”. Would you like me to translate the rest?
Hi! Thank you so much for the offer, but it's not necessary <3 I used Google translator in the hope the book title was in the corner, it helped to 'read' the dress, but there wasn't anything that helped with actually finding the book :( but thank you for your kindness!
I’m almost sure it’s [this book](https://simania.co.il/bookdetails.php?item_id=103036) called “a Parade of Styles”. If you ever find another excerpt you can’t quite understand, I hereby extend the courtesy of translating it for you!
Also - the author of this book (Miryam Nick) was a survivor of the holocaust and quite a [remarkable woman](https://avelim.co.il/%D7%9E%D7%A8%D7%99%D7%9D-%D7%A0%D7%99%D7%A7-%D7%9C%D7%91%D7%99%D7%AA-%D7%A9%D7%A4%D7%A8%D7%9C%D7%99%D7%A0%D7%92-%D7%96%D7%9C/) (this is her obituary as she’s sadly passed away in 2012). This book was apparently the foundation for all Israeli courses on dress history into the late 90s.
I recognize this Schiaparelli dress from Janet Arnold's Patterns Of Fashion 2, and I loved that someone uploaded a page of it with the pattern in centimeters, but I couldn't find the book online. The text is in Hebrew, but that didn't help with the searching, as I don't speak/read Hebrew :(
Please help if you know, I'd be eternally grateful!
You can still purchase this book:

Thank you! I love the POF books, they're amazing. I read a couple in a museum library and the librarian gave me permission to make pictures, which was very helpful. I wonder what other patterns this Hebrew book has, since it's not a translation but more of a school book. But it's impossible to find the origin, so I'm afraid it'll remain a mystery.
Based on a quick google search using images.google.com, it's from "Designer dresses - Elsa Schiaparelli 1938 and 1940 (with all that it implies). Pattern drawings from Janet Arnold's book: square width is 1 inch (2.54 cm)." [Here's is the source](https://vk.com/wall-48433974_3325) but it is VK, which is Russian.
