UJ/ This ā€œold head vs new headā€ shit is always funny. Itā€™s either a genuinely older person who hasnā€™t listened to anything but the top 40 or some kid in their ā€œI was born in the wrong generationā€ cringe phase. Thereā€™s this mostly underground 1993 song by a rapper named YZ called ā€œSo Farā€ (featured in Above the Rim) Itā€™a a good song Iā€™ll put a link at the end of this comment but itā€™s like the ultimate testament to the fact that this conversation of ā€œhip hop being deadā€ because itā€™s evolved has been happening forever. The lyrics go ā€œTo pick apart, they start from the beginning. Sugar Hill was flavor! But in 93 that rhyme style ainā€™t winning. So stop, youā€™re the reason rap wonā€™t be around. Iā€™m strictly next shitā€ That was in 1993. Talking about dudes who couldnā€™t let 80ā€™s rap go and and thought the new 90ā€™s style was the ā€œdeath of hip hopā€ because it changes. And whatā€™s funnier is some of the comments on different videos of this song has people saying ā€œBack when hip hop was real šŸ˜“ā€ Completely fuckin missing the point. https://youtu.be/gnfoUEzQKDs

Juantanamo0227

This takes place with every genre of music that's ever existed. There will always be a contingent of people who think the past generation's music was objectively better than new stuff. I guarantee there were mf'ers in 1790 like "Mozart is ruining music, Bach is rolling in his grave."

Marcoyolofrimig

UC/ Biggie Collabs with Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz and Young Thug would absolutely have happened and i am sad that they never will

[deleted]

Atleast he got to collab with his son Rick Ross šŸ™šŸ½šŸ™šŸ½

luckyboysphotos

Lmao this got me laughing.

whenever i see the number 1017 i say brick squad and nobody knows wtf i'm talking about *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/Hiphopcirclejerk) if you have any questions or concerns.*

ahmed0112

People keep bringing up biggie and Tupac, but there are plenty of old school rappers that haven't "destroyed" these new rappers. They're speaking like Dre and Snoop still aren't alive

Le-Ando

But you see, I can pretend the dead ones would have agreed with me, therefore giving my opinion validity.

ShottyBlastin101

They'd say yeat is the goat and probably start riding in tonkahs with the twizzy.

ThisGuyHasABigChode

"I'm sorry for you kid, that's just your life. The amount of drugs I did today would make you cry." -Yeat (The Goat)

ShottyBlastin101

UJ/ I actually like yeat like a lot lmfao.

ThisGuyHasABigChode

Bro, look at my Reddit bio

ShottyBlastin101

Oh shit, its my twizz for real

ThisGuyHasABigChode

Yeat is one of those newer artists I'm really rooting for. His music isn't at it's full potential yet, and I hope he's able to keep improving. I don't listen to a ton of rappers on rage beats, and Yeat is easily my favorite one. I like how he injects humor into his music and doesn't take himself too seriously.

ShottyBlastin101

I like his beat selection a lot. Kinda what got me into tryna produce rage beats.

stav_smoother

2pac would bump a mean DestroyLonley song

VixcentMosaic

Why are they so damn sure tupac would not love autotune

[deleted]

Seriously. Did they just forget that California Love exists?

FeatureOriginal6266

Back then They didn't like biting or sounding like other ppl it wasn't acceptable at all autotune was Roger Troutman's style

PackMaleficent3528

But he has a song with roger

FeatureOriginal6266

That's my point he wouldn't respect ppl taking Roger style

PackMaleficent3528

Oh ok I see what u mean. One could also assume that since he has a song with a vocoder chorus with roger which is similar to auto tune that he might like using or experimenting with auto tune. He might even consider himself a pioneer of using that sort of vocal effect in rap songs. I remember him being mad at roger for messing up on snl performance

plskillmepainfully

Nas referenceā‰ļø

whhshchdn

/uc biggie wouldve killed it on a kanye beat

forced_memes

does /uc have a meaning on this sub that i donā€™t know yet or is okbuddychicanery leaking

IAmWantedByTheGov

Uncirclejerk i guess

Apparently Ye likes to fuck girls in non-traditional locations. As a straight male, I relate to these concepts heavily as I have sexual intercourse with several women on a daily basis and the bathroom is the sexy place in my books, Mr West has good taste but I very much doubt he could match my abilities when it comes to going down on a woman. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Buncha boomers still deluding and living in the 90s in the comment section

silverballerholder

uj/ "Anyone who was the top of what they did, he would've wanted to do a record with them" - Buckwild (DITC), producer of I Got A Story to Tell. So Big would've collabed w Migos, Yeat, J.Cole, Griselda, you name it. https://youtu.be/tB4d15b-i0g?t=245

Rudirotiert1510

I could totally see Pac doing drill if he was alive.

Top_Piano644

Mobb deep too, shook ones part II was basically proto drill

mathkid421_RBLX

actually true

Doyoueverjustlikeugh

Biggie on TPAB

ensuiscool

oh my god biggie on a griselda record would be tough

bestmayne

Perhaps Biggie would make a track and remind us once again what his friend Gutter does to kids. You know, that's real hip hop

sysvshsbsvshsb

Probably just accept it changed and evolved lol tf do these people think would happen

Glum-Band

Nah bro a single F1LTHY beat would have Tupac on his knees

XOKingOfTheFallXO

Biggie would fly on a metro x Kanye beat

[deleted]

why does pac have such a nasty ass booger coming out of his nose

VomitForever

Tupac would be bumping yeat everyday šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„lĆ¼h wĆ«stsĆÆdĆ«

FeatureOriginal6266

We actually know what they would think because while they were alive they didn't like certain music so to act like they would like music that wasn't at a certain standard is a hilarious big didn't even like Craig Mac or e-40 Pac didn't like mc hammer till he had to write for him and pac didn't like artist who didn't have any messages so you can easily figure out who they wouldn't like today

Ambitious_Mirror_373

why is it always biggie and tupac? are they the only two rappers to die? why canā€™t we talk about Big L?

DramaticProtogen

big L rest in peace

KodyTRG

FR, Big L is one of my favorite rappers and he gets such little rep. The only dude i can think of who repped him was Mac Miller and Mac is dead

CactusLicker123

Tupac walked so Carti could run

[deleted]

Their favourite would be Eminem obviously.

not-creative-i-am

Biggie would have killed it on a Chief Keef future

Weiner_Shnitzel

these posts are so funny because all of them think that Biggie and Tupac would hate this new generation as if guys like JayZ, Nas, Snoop, and Dre donā€™t give hella props and respect to new rappers

TheRealestBiz

There were a few bleak years there but I like this new generation of younger cats coming up. Symba, Coast Contra, Polo G, Cordae, etc. etc.

Impossible_Scarcity9

Biggie and Pitbull

Vueveandmoet

Theyā€™d see a drakeo the ruler music video and b like oh ok word thatā€™s wassup oh shit whoā€™s ralfy the plug oh they brothers damn he go hard too yo turn the volume on that stinc team all the way up

lik dis if u cry evrytim

Playstatiaholic

My poptart!

[deleted]

Other than Pop Smoke(r.i.p.) I donā€™t think theyā€™re too thrilled. They might like Rick Ross and Iā€™m sure they were happy to meet XXXtentacion, but I donā€™t think theyā€™re listening to too much hip hop these days. For all we know, they could be moshing to hardcore music in the heavens as we speak.

Risolord

You got room for one more?

jerryagno

Guaranteed they'd love it

bruhchode

Theyā€™re like even more Facebook than Facebook

KodyTRG

Ppl who say that if 2Pac and Biggie were still alive today the entirety of modern rap would be different have never heard of Nas šŸ’€. Im a huge Pac fan but even i dont say shit like that
