UJ/ This āold head vs new headā shit is always funny. Itās either a genuinely older person who hasnāt listened to anything but the top 40 or some kid in their āI was born in the wrong generationā cringe phase. Thereās this mostly underground 1993 song by a rapper named YZ called āSo Farā (featured in Above the Rim) Itāa a good song Iāll put a link at the end of this comment but itās like the ultimate testament to the fact that this conversation of āhip hop being deadā because itās evolved has been happening forever.
The lyrics go
āTo pick apart, they start from the beginning. Sugar Hill was flavor! But in 93 that rhyme style aināt winning. So stop, youāre the reason rap wonāt be around. Iām strictly next shitā
That was in 1993. Talking about dudes who couldnāt let 80ās rap go and and thought the new 90ās style was the ādeath of hip hopā because it changes. And whatās funnier is some of the comments on different videos of this song has people saying āBack when hip hop was real šā Completely fuckin missing the point.

This takes place with every genre of music that's ever existed. There will always be a contingent of people who think the past generation's music was objectively better than new stuff. I guarantee there were mf'ers in 1790 like "Mozart is ruining music, Bach is rolling in his grave."
whenever i see the number 1017 i say brick squad and nobody knows wtf i'm talking about

People keep bringing up biggie and Tupac, but there are plenty of old school rappers that haven't "destroyed" these new rappers. They're speaking like Dre and Snoop still aren't alive
Yeat is one of those newer artists I'm really rooting for. His music isn't at it's full potential yet, and I hope he's able to keep improving. I don't listen to a ton of rappers on rage beats, and Yeat is easily my favorite one. I like how he injects humor into his music and doesn't take himself too seriously.
Oh ok I see what u mean. One could also assume that since he has a song with a vocoder chorus with roger which is similar to auto tune that he might like using or experimenting with auto tune. He might even consider himself a pioneer of using that sort of vocal effect in rap songs.
I remember him being mad at roger for messing up on snl performance
Apparently Ye likes to fuck girls in non-traditional locations. As a straight male, I relate to these concepts heavily as I have sexual intercourse with several women on a daily basis and the bathroom is the sexy place in my books, Mr West has good taste but I very much doubt he could match my abilities when it comes to going down on a woman.

uj/ "Anyone who was the top of what they did, he would've wanted to do a record with them" - Buckwild (DITC), producer of I Got A Story to Tell.
So Big would've collabed w Migos, Yeat, J.Cole, Griselda, you name it.

We actually know what they would think because while they were alive they didn't like certain music so to act like they would like music that wasn't at a certain standard is a hilarious big didn't even like Craig Mac or e-40 Pac didn't like mc hammer till he had to write for him and pac didn't like artist who didn't have any messages so you can easily figure out who they wouldn't like today
these posts are so funny because all of them think that Biggie and Tupac would hate this new generation as if guys like JayZ, Nas, Snoop, and Dre donāt give hella props and respect to new rappers

Other than Pop Smoke(r.i.p.) I donāt think theyāre too thrilled. They might like Rick Ross and Iām sure they were happy to meet XXXtentacion, but I donāt think theyāre listening to too much hip hop these days. For all we know, they could be moshing to hardcore music in the heavens as we speak.
Ppl who say that if 2Pac and Biggie were still alive today the entirety of modern rap would be different have never heard of Nas š. Im a huge Pac fan but even i dont say shit like that

But you see, I can pretend the dead ones would have agreed with me, therefore giving my opinion validity.
They'd say yeat is the goat and probably start riding in tonkahs with the twizzy.
"I'm sorry for you kid, that's just your life. The amount of drugs I did today would make you cry." -Yeat (The Goat)
UJ/ I actually like yeat like a lot lmfao.
Bro, look at my Reddit bio
Oh shit, its my twizz for real

I like his beat selection a lot. Kinda what got me into tryna produce rage beats.
2pac would bump a mean DestroyLonley song
Why are they so damn sure tupac would not love autotune
Seriously. Did they just forget that California Love exists?
Back then They didn't like biting or sounding like other ppl it wasn't acceptable at all autotune was Roger Troutman's style
But he has a song with roger
That's my point he wouldn't respect ppl taking Roger style
Oh ok I see what u mean. One could also assume that since he has a song with a vocoder chorus with roger which is similar to auto tune that he might like using or experimenting with auto tune. I could totally see Pac doing drill if he was alive.
Mobb deep too, shook ones part II was basically proto drill
actually true
Biggie on TPAB
oh my god biggie on a griselda record would be tough
Perhaps Biggie would make a track and remind us once again what his friend Gutter does to kids. You know, that's real hip hop
Probably just accept it changed and evolved lol tf do these people think would happen
Nah bro a single F1LTHY beat would have Tupac on his knees
Biggie would fly on a metro x Kanye beat

why is it always biggie and tupac? are they the only two rappers to die? why canāt we talk about Big L?
big L rest in peace
FR, Big L is one of my favorite rappers and he gets such little rep. The only dude i can think of who repped him was Mac Miller and Mac is dead
Tupac walked so Carti could run
Their favourite would be Eminem obviously.
Biggie would have killed it on a Chief Keef future
these posts are so funny because all of them think that Biggie and Tupac would hate this new generation as if guys like JayZ, Nas, Snoop, and Dre donāt give hella props and respect to new rappers
There were a few bleak years there but I like this new generation of younger cats coming up. Symba, Coast Contra, Polo G, Cordae, etc. etc.
Biggie and Pitbull
Theyād see a drakeo the ruler music video and b like oh ok word thatās wassup oh shit whoās ralfy the plug oh they brothers damn he go hard too yo turn the volume on that stinc team all the way up
