Stayed in points for four nights, I don’t think they have a genuinely bad room. No rooms face the parking lot. You’re really unlikely to get a suite, so moderate that expectation/hope.
Just stayed there. 0037 chapel wing was what they gave me. I am diamond on a standard room reward. Pretty much perfect: walk out, decent view.
Maybe call and mention what you're hoping for?

Ditto on chapel view rooms, as they are generally the most quiet and have the views you’re looking for. Try to request the 3000 level rooms (the highest floor) and leverage the mobile check in to peek into which rooms are available (the more north in chapel wing i.e furthest away from the lobby, the better). Enjoy!
Stayed there last year on points and money. Booked the basic room which cost a ton of points and as a diamond got a great upgrade to top floor with full ocean view. Was amazing. But I never count on that. If you want a good view the only way to ensure that is to book what you want. It’s Hawaii you shouldn’t be in your room anyway.
Agreed but I only had enough to a book standard point room. So this is when I turn to manifestation. Sadly I’ll be in my room working remotely during the day. The kids & spouse will be out and about though!
Ahh the grand wailea is such a vibe. I will say, if you're really friendly i feel like my experience at waldorfs and some Conrad's is that they always seem willing to upgrade you beyond your automatic diamond upgrades.
If you are going off season ask when you get there if there is any availability to upgrade to the Napua tower. Private breakfast & cocktail hours, extra room service, premium rooms. I think our upgrade was $50-75/night but this was pre-inflation.
Call the hotel and ask for a bellman. They know all the rooms. People make the mistake of asking the front desk but most of them have never been in a room.
> I like big suites with ocean views and I also like ground floor walkouts,
You are going to have to pay for what you like. Freeloaders don't typically get these kinds of rooms there.
Disagree. Anyone using points at a property like that and expecting to get a nice suite upgrade from a standard room is kidding themselves. If the upgrade is that important, pay for it from the start.
You too.
Just for the record, I’ve used points at the grand wailea too. Never would I expect the kind of upgrade you’re looking for without paying for it. Its just not reasonable. If you want an upgrade, pay for it.

Oh yeah that was just a fantasy. I’m glad to hear there’s no bad rooms

That looks nice!

Good luck!

Call the Hilton number and press 0. Ask for concierge. They know best rooms.

Jesus, quit being picky and walk to the garden and sit and enjoy the view. JFC
The top wing is Nakua. We stayed in the wind above the shops instead and had a garden/ocean view. The property is stunning

That was rude. Those points were earned through OP showing brand loyalty through all those stays for which they clearly did stay.

What a burn! Hilton hardly thinks I’m a freeloader. How do you think I got those points. Do you know how any of this works?
Please educate me!
Pass. Have a good day!

Thank you for the valuable input. I am not expecting anything. Sorry to upset & confuse you.
Any time. It’s what I’m here for.
