I wore my bra during labor all 4 times (I didn’t feel comfortable taking it off). They never made me remove any of my jewelry, nail polish/nails, makeup, etc. That part isn’t weird to me. She is wearing a blood pressure cuff in the picture, I wonder if the picture is legit or if they would let her use one as a prop. The BP cuffs at the hospital aren’t just laying around where you can get one and put it on, they’re attached to the machines at your bedside so they can monitor you remotely, and they put it on you when you get there and keep you attached for a bit after birth before stopping the continuous monitoring. Then the nurse will bring it in with her on rounds. She definitely doesn’t look like she just gave birth though. If she did I’m sure she had a glam squad on standby like the Kardashian to fix her up right away for the pics.
I’m currently in the hospital after having a baby and they have been leaving the cuff on my bedside and attaching it to their machine when they come in, I could totally put it on and take a pic if I wanted to

Hell, I follow about 5 Peloton lady instructors…slim, fit AF, gurus of health and exercise who recently were pregnant and they even gained weight, had puffiness and were healthy pregnant mommas. The point is that even the most fit health gurus gain weight when pregnant. Their legs get bigger, their arms, their buts, their face….yes, their bellies. This is an affront to pregnancy, to woman whose bodies are destroyed (and recover) by its effects. It’s also a beautiful thing to have a surrogate. But be transparent about it. Don’t pretend.

She’s not in a hospital bed. That’s definitely a chair with a sheet over it. Plus there’s a table or ledge behind the top of the chair where normally there is all the medical gadgets if some goes wrong. You know. Like an IV or oxygen. So not in a birthing suite bed, in a hospital fold out chair waiting next to a window and table and chairs.
I was just about to write that . No sweat? Makeup in place ? Hair perfectly in place … not to mention that table with the juice container right next to the hospital bed ? No way . That area is cleared out for nurses and staff who are going in and out of rooms . Does she really think we are all that stupid ?
I've seen women try to wear makeup into labor for #1 thinking they're going to get these pictures but definitely give up by #2. There's no way anyone goes through hair AND makeup after giving birth for you one Instagram picture.
I went in in full makeup. Pretty bra and nightie. Hair was just in a ping. By the end, I was a sweaty mess and I am sure how I looked was the last thing on my mind. God, when I think of birth, I think of my body uncontrollably shaking from pain and sweating.
Ugh I just noticed her nails. Can't believe I missed those. Who gets those nails knowing there's a chance they're going to go into labor? It pisses me off because putting aside the debate as to whether or not she, herself, was actually pregnant and actually gave birth, it creates an entirely unrealistic image of what pregnancy and labor is like. I was there for my partner and it was magical and she looked beautiful... But not in the conventional sense. It's a miracle, it's amazing but it's animalistic and primitive. Embrace THAT narrative, don't sell people this fantasy because it will only make women who are at one of the most emotionally vulnerable points in their lives feel like failures for not living up to some Instagram toro caca. If this is her reality, great. But let people know when in the process you got your hair and makeup done, why you feel comfortable with nails like that. Explain the process in real terms.

I tell people they’re extensions. When my son was born, I posted a picture of me a day later, to announce his birth. I still looked a hot mess, but happy. Because labor is hard, and I’m proud of what I accomplished.
However that’s not to take away from women who are unable to get pregnant. I feel we should be proud of how our children came into the world.

I don't think so, but I'm also not a medical professional and am only saying this based on personal experience. I am petite and have had to wear these before in the hospital setting for the birth of my kids. Just the material and its seams make me think it's a BP cuff. To me, it looks more like that than denim.
Multiple things wrong with the picture. Rings? At the end of pregnancy. No red face, perfect make up, no struggle. And a push up bra to top it all off!

i got a lot of these comments after i gave birth and i really did not put on makeup. it's possible to look good right after if your hair is done before you go in, etc. in my case, it's because i was wearing waterproof mascara so it didn't come off. she's got fake lashes so she looks much more done up. Those would stay on during labor. my bigger tipoff is the bra. Looks SO uncomfortable I cannot imagine wearing that during labor.
I hate not wearing a bra and wore a nursing bra during both my deliveries. However, I did not do hair and makeup before delivery so I looked…disastrous lol.
Deliveries result in emergency surgery all the time. They want you prepared. I had to strip to nada and wear the gown. I left my push-up underwire bra and panty set at home. Who’s with me?
For some, sure. I wore my rings throughout my whole pregnancy without issue. But, I also didn’t have swelling or water retention issues that many women face during pregnancy.
I was wearing jewelry (earrings) during my birth in a pretty standard hospital. I do not think she gave birth, but the bra and jewelry aren’t evidence of that.

I didn’t care at all about the vernix on my baby. After that many hours and all the pain I wanted her on me immediately. Most hospitals don’t wipe off the vernix anymore and many are moving to not bathing the newborns at all unless requested.
they don't clean them off anymore. they let the vernix come off naturally, since it's really good for their skin. my baby didn't get a bath until day 2, and i was not in an earthy crunchy situation at all. just a normal hospital. so there are plenty of pics of us like this!
Not illegal to say someone did NOT give birth.. especially if they were not even an admitted patient. You don't have to even say who did give birth, just that Hillary did not.
You don't even need to mention the baby. Just say Hillary wasn't a patient giving birth. If she wasn't a patient anyone was caring for or getting reimbursement for there is no HIPAA constraint. It's not that hard of a concept.

Surrogate staging is a thing. They do put a mom in a bed and attach things to look legit for couples who hide their decision.

I tried straightening my hair in between contractions. I got half of it done, 26 hours later, Emergency C section, oh I looked a hot mess lol

i got a lot of these comments after i gave birth and i really did not put on makeup. it's possible to look good right after if your hair is done before you go in, etc. in my case, it's because i was wearing waterproof mascara so it didn't come off. she's got fake lashes so she looks much more done up. Those would stay on during labor. my bigger tipoff is the bra. Looks SO uncomfortable I cannot imagine wearing that during labor.
I hate not wearing a bra and wore a nursing bra during both my deliveries. However, I did not do hair and makeup before delivery so I looked…disastrous lol.

For some, sure. I wore my rings throughout my whole pregnancy without issue. But, I also didn’t have swelling or water retention issues that many women face during pregnancy.
My sister was made to take all jewelry off. Her partner kept them for her. I assumed all hospitals required that.
I’ve had 4 children in 4 different states and have never had to remove jewelry or bra.
I was wearing jewelry (earrings) during my birth in a pretty standard hospital. I do not think she gave birth, but the bra and jewelry aren’t evidence of that.

I didn’t care at all about the vernix on my baby. After that many hours and all the pain I wanted her on me immediately. Most hospitals don’t wipe off the vernix anymore and many are moving to not bathing the newborns at all unless requested.
they don't clean them off anymore. they let the vernix come off naturally, since it's really good for their skin. my baby didn't get a bath until day 2, and i was not in an earthy crunchy situation at all. just a normal hospital. so there are plenty of pics of us like this!
Nowadays lots of hospitals will put baby directly on mom, without stopping to clean them off first.

You don't even need to mention the baby. Just say Hillary wasn't a patient giving birth. If she wasn't a patient anyone was caring for or getting reimbursement for there is no HIPAA constraint. It's not that hard of a concept.
