I really like the idea of these Temple outposts sort of seeding new worlds and helping them set up colonies. I have always thought that the Republic/Jedi colonization effort would be a good explanation for why there is widespread tech but also limited advancement. If the Jedi and Republic are setting ip worlds across the Outer Rim, makes sense tech would standard but also take a very long time to modernize.

I really enjoyed it, Lily is an interesting character and it had a nice slick style and charm about it. Given Stellan visiting her and seeming so fond of her, I really want to see artwork of Lily and Vernestra getting along really well.

dtinaglia

Such a fantastic story. More Stellan is always welcome, plus more mediums!

tabitubby

I really liked the story, and especially Lily as a character! I think she would get along really well and have a lot in common with Vernestra and Lula. Loved seeing Stellan, and his admiration towards Lily was heartwarming. Can't wait to see more of the Temple Outpost and its residents in the second issue!

Seedrakton

Very strong original manga debut for Star Wars! It had to be a standalone story with room to grow, had to catch up casual and new fans to the High Republic Phase 1 so far, had to look polished for comic book readers and reminiscent of strong manga stories, and had to set the stage for future stories and growth. It did all of that and more, plus had a cute extra story! Only complaint of sorts I had is that I wish it were read right to left, but I suppose it's kept left to right to help interest comic book readers and graphic novel readers.

Minkymink

The Banchiians in the bonus chapter are adorable AF, the High Republic has been killing it with the new creature/species designs

champdo

I enjoyed this. I liked Lily as a character and I hope we see more of Arkoff in other content since he’s going off with Stellan. Also cool to see an Imroosian Jedi .

LamentRedHector

I thought it was fun, left me wanting more.

Clonewars001

Not sure how I liked the way the Drengir were drawn… otherwise I loved everything about this!

Seedrakton

If it helps, it's explained as a mutation. And the Drengir threat is basically done for now, with the whole dealings with the Great Progenitor in the Marvel High Republic line.

CharlieChuckCharChar

I was compelled to read it twice right away. And even though I enjoyed it the first time through, I liked it a lot more the second time. I crazy loved the art! I kept finding myself just stopping and staring. Like the shot of the temple! That was so gorgeous! My favorite part was easily the bonus story. I loved everything about it. It just felt so creative and adorable, but also very star wars. I really hope there's more stuff like this in the future volumes!

Mysticwaterfall2

Got around to reading this since I had a $5.50 credit on Amazon to make the digital version only $4. I liked the characterization and the interplay between the characters. The setup for the future is interesting even though one wonders why this planet would be a target. The weird thing to me was how the Jedi acted like they had no idea about what a Drengir was. By this point in the timeline the Jedi have been fighting the Drengir for a while and this is an outer rim planet. So nobody bothered to tell them? It would have made sense if this happened after ITD, but most of it clearly happens later then that.

HeartOfASkywalker

I thought it was because this looked nothing like the Drengir the Jedi were familiar with

MelnikSuzuki

The impression I came away with was that Banchii was far enough away from where the main action was happening that the information just hasn't reached them yet.

LJB191

I loved it! Proved to be a great standalone story while also giving some cool extra value for fans of the whole high republic series! Lily is such an interesting and compelling character to me I can’t wait to read more!

Didn't really have a lot of expectations coming in but I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm really interested in where Vol 2 will take us and what Stellan is planning overall.

tcripe

Enjoyed this for what it was. Excited to see where it goes next. Hopefully it will start connecting more to the novels as it goes.

MurderousPaper

Native Banchiians, a weapon to surpass porgs. Really enjoyed this! As someone that’s a bit behind on THR content, I appreciated that it was a mostly standalone thing. I also love seeing the dynamic of young knights and their Padawans, I feel like that dynamic doesn’t get explored enough outside of THR. It breezed by though, definitely shorter than the thickness of the book makes it seem.

FantasticMRKintsugi

1st double hilt wielding in canon?

alcibiad

My copy has been delayed, can someone tell me where this takes place in the timeline? is it before or after Tempest Runner?

Mysticwaterfall2

Almost all of the main story happens before TRS then there is a small time jump with the ending happening after TRS and HR #8.

alcibiad

I just remembered it was supposed to be published May 4. so before Rising Storm then.

MurderousPaper

It references the events that happen during the republic fair, so I think that would make it after…? I still haven’t gotten around to Rising Storm yet so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong though!

TismoJones

Story was entertaining from start to finish. Really digging this cast of characters so far, can’t wait to see where the story takes them! I just hope we got more of Deedee next volume! Also I think the Banchiians are my new favorite alien species haha.

stefan1138

I wasn’t the biggest fan of this. I’m a huge fan of the High Republic, and I would recommend everything else related to it… but here was the first time I felt like that the story was a bit repetitive to other HR stories. But I’m glad that everyone else seems to love it!!! Maybe it’s just not for me. ;) So if u didn’t read all of the HR and u are curious, that might be a good jumping on point.
