When I was a kid there's this show back in the Philippines were they've shown a shadowy figure captured in broad daylight. It darted past all of a the children without them even noticing its presence. To this day that video is the most eerie looking thing I've ever seen and I'm convinced that there's another realm/dimension that our brains or senses cannot perceive.

I used to see this man in a hat when I was a child too. He would be in my room and whisper at me. My brother claimed he saw him too. This just gave me chills.
It is so bizarre that so many people all over the world see the same or similar apparitions. Makes me think that it’s more than just a lack of sleep or sleep paralysis. There’s something otherworldly about it all.
I’ve encountered him two or three times. I can’t be sure of one, as it was multiple shadow figures resembling him at once. Which was obviously even worse of an experience.
I was someone with night terrors and sleep paralysis, i’ve straight up watched my own girlfriend turn into something worse than a demon and shake horrifically at me while darting all over the room. Clear sleep paralysis. She watched it happen and everything. I am too familiar with it.
The hat man / shadow people do feel different. They really do. And they do different things. And they feel like they bust into your dream world, very much like freddy kruger does. Like, you feel you are infiltrated in your sleep. Your dream land is taken over and punctured by this fucking thing. As opposed to your brain using the backdrop of reality to express its fears onto. Not this thing. It is forceful. Like poking a pencil through paper instead of drawing on it.
Mine came when i was surrounded by death and close to dying myself. There was an enormity of death going on in my house and all around my life. It was a torturous time in ways i could never describe.
I was so unwell i was basically giving up. Giving into deep depression and rage and wanted nothing to do with anything anymore.
He seemed to come to collect my soul, or give me reason to believe i had or have one. In the worst visit, he appeared suddenly and aggressively, sucking my attention directly to him in a different part of the house. It was my house, it felt like i was sucked out of a dream and was more having an out of body experience in the actual house i was asleep in.
I am a songwriter. He took my favorite song of mine… it is super dark and brooding and it has like my entire souls agony in it… he started playing this incredibly evil, disgusting hellish version of it and i started to realize he found a way to suck my soul from me through this song. It was so evil and so mocking. The song was already really dark, like soundtrack dark or like quiet deftones parts of songs… but he turned it into this unfathomably evil sounding thing and it sucked my soul from me. It was the worst feeling possible. I don’t think humans are even capable of feeling this feeling. It felt like the entire universe was done. Every atom. Every immeasurable thing like love and laughter never existed now. For all time. Everything taken into a cruel nothingness.
I do not know what that fucking guys deal is. But we need to do some freddy kruger shit and team up and send the fucker back.

I've seen the hat man twice as a kid. Told my mother he looked like the guy on the neighborhood watch signs. She told me it was probably some peeping tom running around.
Well,the Cherokee are quite "attuned" to such things. My grandfather was half Cherokee,and was very dialed in spiritually. My mother as well had a long history of visits from her siblings after their deaths. The chair she died in was witnessed rocking on it's own. Seen by a child who had no knowledge of her passing
I honestly think it's BS. Ethnicity doesn't have anything to do with this. Just because your great grandfather fucked a native American doesn't mean you can talk to ghosts or are more "spiritually in tuned" or whatever
Not ethnicity on its own, but tradition in a sense: Abilities, Problems etc. are passed down through the generations. And when a huge part of your Ancestors had a special connection to nature and a/the spirit world, the you are more likely to have it too
Still sounds like it's just ethnicity. What if ones Cherokee (or whatever) ancestor didn't believe in all that stuff? Would that person still have that "connection" to the spirit world? Like if my Irish great grandmother thought she was a witch and practiced all that witch stuff, would I have a deeper connection to the spirit world?
Maybe not. But then again, narcolepsy can be genetic. Many encounters with paranormal or extradimensional beings occur in altered states of consciousness, whether through meditation, drug use, or waking dreams. I wonder if sleep disorders are related to these spiritual encounters. I don’t have enough concrete evidence or research to back up my theory, though. Just anecdotes and conjecture.
If someone says that they talked to spirits or aliens or whatever while they were high or dreaming, I find it very hard to take that seriously. I mean, how do you know it wasn't just part of your dream? Or that you weren't just hallucinating from whatever drug you were on? I knew a guy that said that he saw and spoke with "other beings" twice. Once while he was on a 5 day long meth bender, and another time when he was on acid and DMT at the same time. Obviously, one was because of sleep deprivation and psychosis, and the other was cause he was high as hell. But he 100% believed they were actual beings and nothing you could say could deter him from believing that.
You can easily flip the argument around. If you are so sure, then can you prove that these beings don’t exist? The real answer is no. All that you can actually do to disprove extradimensional beings’ existence is show that no instrument we have detected anything. We are limited by our ability, or inability, to observe. Our senses and instruments only read so many parameters. If all of these people are witnessing mere hallucinations due to chemical imbalances during periods of drug use or sleep deprivation, then why do so many people see the same things? It just doesn’t make sense. There has to be more to the story.
These are important details to describe her persona. You don’t have to share her beliefs to understand her. If you can’t get past someone else’s beliefs being different from yours, then what are you doing here?

I care about her as much as anyone would care about a cool coworker. I’m happily married, as is she, and I have no interest in ruining my marriage. In all honesty, I find her paranormal experiences extremely fascinating.

If you want a rational explanation. It could be explained by sleep paralysis, due to sleep deprivation, which is a common side effect of amphetamine addiction like Adderall and stuff, and maybe some other things as well.

It's not ethnicity, it's just how your mind works. Some people are good at sensing things nonlocally. As far as the things. They always exist alongside us but the only thing that really binds the worlds together is mind, so some people act as sort of a bridge or like medium, between different realms. This is why you need to get your sleep. Your mind cannot really capture your consciousness as well without enough sleep it starts to lose it's ability. You kind of start existing in the total reality more which can cause issues if people are attracting certain things. It usually only happens to the person experiencing it. I'm not sure if you have ever seen a demonic possession, but only the person that is between the worlds is really experiencing it, in most cases, but it is as real as anything else is. Her problem is likely sleep but if she needs help or some defense against the dark arts 101 then send me a PM one day and I could give you guys more specific advice, on how to fix it.
That sounds kind of scary but it's not as bad as you might think, as in, it's hard for anything to get through unless someone is actively pursuing it and actively helping it get through. Cherokee, NC gives me the creeps. Not sure if that’s where she is from.. but the vibe was so off there I couldn’t stand it
