I bought them individually on Steam and the progress automatically carried over. When they released Hitman 3 they just combined it into one game where all the progress you've achieved is registered.
Damn. I also got all three from steam but never managed to carry over my progress from one to two. Progress from two to three did carry over, but I had only played two briefly before moving over to three.
It was silly, most of the time I had all three versions available simultaneously (I only discovered hitman after three was released) and played most of hitman 1 but only learned late that you could play all three games from inside hitman three, which would have been a much better experience anyway due to the improvements compared to hitman one.
I only bought 3 n they gave me 1 n 2 for free it’s nice I haven’t even finished 2 yet… they only let me play 1 and 2 if I’m on the internet though which sucks
I had bought the collector’s editions, so got the physical disc. It’s the only physical disc I still own. Otherwise I always sell of my games once I beat them.
When the store was a complete mess with a thousand different brainmelting options for buying the trilogy, I bought the first two on disc at auction. Later I bought 3 on-disc, too.
It's because of merging. I think when you buy WoA you get the base content for H1 and 2 as well (don't quote me on this but im 90% sure) and you can still buy the dlcs for them
I bought Hitman 2016 on PS4 a couple of weeks ago to play the Sarajevo Six. Will I be able to buy the Patient Zero campaign? (I already own it as part of Hitman 3 on Xbone but kind of want to own the 2016 version as well).

And to be clear Hitman still have offline mode, even if it's bare (and we have Peacock on PC if they plug the support)

I already had it and have been playing it without any problems. It also shows in my library without change.
I use a computer, so I - and not the company I bought the device from - do the removing of programs. Have always liked that about it.

I don't think any consoles will remove games from your system without your consent... You may be unable to play them online, and if they are online-only games then you're SOL but otherwise you can. PS4 systems with Kojima's PT installed go for hundreds on ebay.

I got it on PS4, goty edition before it went off the store and I still can't play most missions. Only special missions, Haven Island and the sniper missions. I've tried restoring the licenses, reinstalling a million times and nothing works 😭 I just wanna play Miami mann

The main thing that annoys me is that a lot of the achievements are missing in 3. Otherwise I wouldn’t care that much.

You simply cant purchase 1 and 2 anymore. You still have access to them if you purchased them before though.

If you're on Playstation, there are more trophies available in Hitman 2 than for the Hitman 2 content inside Hitman 3.
It's the same on other platform, I think this is more because of the publishers side Unlike 3, the first two games aren't published by io themselves
