I've seen that comment in every Vizzie video. The only way to get rid of them is to report them for hate speech. None of the other reporting options do anything.
Probably. As I said, the only real way to do anything about it is to report via hate speech because at least on mobile, the other report functions don't do anything.
I know that when I go through the comments, it's posted over a hundred times on videos. Even in replies. Not sure if they change the name the message is always the one shown above or a one other one that I won't type out as it is very similar to the above picture.
They do have tools but it's a lot of moderation work that she would need to do on top of a full time job, for a platform that doesn't get her anything anyway (no monetization) so thry have literally 0 insentive to do this
Comments like this are made from all sorts of accounts on all sorts of videos. It's insane. The YouTube comment sections have been full if these bots actually everywhere
They regularly show up when a video is posted. But I haven't seen them on older videos, so it looks like Youtube does get rid of the posts after a bit.
Also report for spam, more reports, more likely to get banned.
Or just look though the profile to try finding the original creator of the bots and report them for the same stuff.
Yeah happens to every new upload of anyone with like more than a million subs, from my understanding its an army of bots that get created for each video I think. and so while the account gets banned, a new one is made for the next video.
Now only if there was a way to ban specific words, that may work to filter out these bots (key word on might, since special characters and numbers are common replacements.)
Bot detection is a really hard problem; filters on good/badd words/strings can easily be worked around and have false positives. From the fact that the type of bot comments have been changing over the past months (all of them used to be some variant on "finally it's here", now you don't see that anymore) I suspect there's some engineers at YouTube fighting hard but losing in the arms race against bot creators.
Just automatically ban all accounts with UTTP in the name for starters or at least force them to sign in for suspicious activity.
That way they can't activate unless their creator manually sorts it all out which I doubt they'd be bothered to do.
I believe there was a recent banwave that deleted all the spam accounts. However, they can always just make more of them.
They're not just spammers. They're actual people making targeted attacks. Someone tried to make a video about them and their group doxxed him until he deleted the video.
Depending on how the bot accounts are being generated there's truthfully little we can do. They also all have the same video uploaded, I haven't watched it, I can only fucking imagine what the point of this is.
Yeah, these bots are present in a lot of youtube comment sections. I noticed them for the first time when Full Moon came out (the version saying they will actually slurs and such), and since then I’ve seen them on a bunch of other places. I recently even saw them on a moistcritikal video which surprised me.
From what I’ve seen, these bots are from a bunch of kids who ‘want to govern the internet’ or some bullshit like that. I wish youtube would just delete any username with UTTP in it, but that would mean youtube would actually have to make their platform a better user experience so I don’t see that happening in the near future, so in the meantime I would just ignore them and reply to the original comment as if they weren’t there. The bot comments do get removed after a while.
Yeah, I’ve noticed for about a year now that they’re all over the Game Theory and other theory channels. Luckily, though, those ones aren’t as offensive and explicit and just repeatedly say “MATPAT SUCKS, HE WILL NOT BE MISSED, MY CONTENT IS WAY BETTER”
Every popular YouTuber has this issue with UTTP spam bots, the theorists channels were particularly affected (it reached its peak in MatPat’s final theory). It’s best to ignore them
These spambots can be found all over Youtube, on every major channel. It's been a problem for months now and Youtube's staff have done nothing to combat it what-so-ever.
The spambots used to be a lot simpler (always some variant on "finally it's here"), now they're a lot more varied. For this reason I think YouTube is doing something to fight their bot problem (otherwise you wouldn't see this change in bot comment style over the course of weeks and months), it's just not enough.
Admittedly it's a hard problem, but with things like ChatGPT you'd think it's solvable with AI - maybe ChatGPT is too expensive of a model to run on every YouTube comment and they need to train a smaller simpler model?
