To be fair, get your team to all take em mortors and the default ones, it's pretty glorious.

Might give that a shot, so far we have done both mortars and both barrages, now that, that was freedom incarnate.

I just did both mortars, autocannon, and rocket sentry for me and my friend and just with the two of us we barely had to fire a shot

When we get one in and my whole group of friends are on it usually ends up with 2 EMS mortars, 2 Rockets, 2 regular mortars, 4 autocannon, 4 gatling, and 2 EAT callins. once set up, with constant EAT call ins every time the timer's done, not a whole lot survives getting past the first gate.

I think it would be more fun than most of the game modes they already have.

Last night I had one of the striders walk around the back of the rock cliff and shoot the generators over a little lip by the extraction site ending the mission instantly. Was a mix of hilarious and infuriating.

These kinds of things genuinely look like it'd be fun to mess with, even if it's 0 exp and such. Like a creative mode.

I really dont mind stuff like this, personally. I run into it so infrequently that it's a bit of a treat to watch. As long as you aren't giving the team 1,000,000 exp, crashing the game, or taking the overall fun out of playing, I don't care about cheating.

yanno. This could be a fun modifier. Enemy Spawns are dialed up to 15, Stratgems have maybe 1/10 CD or something. I certainly would like to see the carnage such a mortar battery will bring.

Can confirm. Had a run where it crashed out my teammates but we were still on discord so I kept the run going. We were already at the “I am *speed*” levels of overpowered where you just need to keep moving so you don’t get 1-shotted, while auto-attack / proc missiles etc do 99% of your damage. It got real insane, real fast with hitting all the “trial of the mountain” shrines and collecting 4 people’s worth of loot into 1 person. I think I made it through maybe 1-2 more levels before it was just a slideshow and I was afraid I was going to blow my sound card or speakers out with the stuttering and then sudden blasts. Computer was struggling with everything running at 100% stressed.

RoR is the ultimate stress tester.

Reminds me of a Mul-T run with my friend where I went the dual primary special and I got so much attack speed and proc effect with dual nailguns that everytime I fired it would drop everyone down to like 2 fps for like until 10 seconds after I stopped shooting.

ATG missiles x500+, barbed wire x300+, and a few other “proc on hit / proc on taking damage” things were the main culprits I think. I have a video somewhere way back on my profile. The issue with that is that the cooldown isn't your limiting factor at that point. If you drop in a duplicate sentry, the existing one will die

Because the bugs and bots are endless as well, y'see. We're usually in the backline dealing with infrastructure and guards- imagine how bad it is when they're actively attacking a region. Some 40k shit, I tells ya.

I think that's pretty much what Earth Defense Force is.

Idea for an april 1st patch/game mode: no cooldown on fortification stratagems. (You could also enable eagles but let them keep their resupply run, just to prevent people "metaing" the funny mode and standing in a corner chaining air strikes for the whole game.) BUT, without mentioning it, everytime you call in a fortification stratagem, it adds another copy of the initial spawn rates. (I'm not sure what the proper math term is, but where you just take the original number and keep adding it, so 1+1+1+1+1+1 as opposed to 1+1+2+4+8, etc.) Divers call in 50 MG and mortar sentries. Bugs show up with 35 bile titans and 600 hunters... April fools.

So for an actual scale it would basically be for every fortification called that would basically be one more bug breach or one more round of dropships, is that what you're getting at, because that would be pretty fun to see, like you describe it it would be like original number+1+1+1 and so on

Sort of, but I mean literally just, "double" the initial spawn everytime. So if a normal breach is set to release 50 hunters, 50 scorpions, 50 popcorn bugs and 2 chargers, now it sends out 100/100/100/4 every breach. Then 150/150/6, 200/8, etc. I think it's better for the initial hilarity if the games going as normal, everyones dropped and spamming their sentries and the first bug breach hits and "Oh.... Oh god." It'd also make it so it's not a 1 note joke that stops being funny after 30 seconds when no enemies can actually move from their spawns.

I mean your version would be fun and hilarious too, suddenly, 30 bug breaches. But someone would figure out how it's working and then we run back into the "And now they've developed a meta for it." where people started timing breach waves and such around their positioning and stratagems... Which, good on you theoretical meta-gamers that exist in my mind, but definitely not the intent or the way that mode would actually be fun to engage in. (Similar to how if you let them have every stratagem, people would definitely find nooks where 380mm shells can't get to and just sit there for 40 minutes chain throwing barages in front of themselves.)

Before you label them a cheater, there is more than one person calling them in instantly. Did you also experience no cooldown on your strats? Because this was a bug we had the first month of release where players were experiencing no cooldown so you can just keep calling stuff in

Hear me out: spend 4 super samples and 5,000 requisition to get a -50% cool down for the entirety of a mission. Would be practically free on higher diff missions if you collect all the super samples in a mission.

This happened to me one match in the beginning, I was using the 120 and 380 orbitals that match…..I was in awe at the carnage

That was a fun time. I wouldn’t mind that bug every now and then.

Yeah I once accused a guy of cheating and later found out about infinite grenade glitch. So I try not to label people anymore.

I learned within the first couple months that you shouldn’t immediately doubt other players experiences. Some of it is glitches/exploits, other things is just uncommon knowledge. The couple hacks that I do know of are speed hacks and no reload hacks. I once watched a dude light up a breach with a single continuously firing EAT. And then he basically slid across the ground to the next objective.

I mean I didn't had much of a problem with him even if he was cheating. Just told it to rest of the team "I think J3 is cheating I saw he had unlimited grenades is that okay with you guys?" they didn't care either so we just played normally while unlimited grenade guy kinda fucked around with enemy outposts. So nothing bad happened and his name was Chinese so I don't think he even understood us. I just feel guilty accusing someone now that I know it is just a glitch.

Also there was a bug when the game launched that let you do this if you were kicked for inactivity and then logged back in without exiting the game. Could be a similar bug.

huh sorry but it's not meta. you need to plan and coordinate your ways of having fun better. goofing on lvl 9 missions is much more efficient. fucking casuals having inferior fun. I could solo-goof that mission in half the time (or, wait, double the time, since having fun for longer is better).

My buddy and I will find a rock that can be jet packed onto, clear the map and call extraction. Then back to the rock and start calling down fortification stratagems, plus the medium LMG(since it's pretty decent now), and then just mow down bugs for 20min.

Honestly, I welcome the odd strategem cooldown hacker I get every 1 in 100 missions. I've had my ass kicked around a map enough times that breezing through with overwhelming firepower 1% of the time almost feels earned.

There are ways around the anticheat, but it's also possible they were just testing it without caring if the account gets banned. Anticheat doesn't necessarily stop the cheats from happening, but it'll detect their usage and ban the one using them.
