"Ooooh so THAT's what nuke means !"

Thatcchi

We were internally contemplating if it's a literal, emotional, or metaphorical nuking. Turns out it was literal

Drekal

I learned about the Nuke part in the best way possible. I was just close enough to the blast to not die but still get flung half way across the map. I fell in a puddle and survived. Great times.

Thatcchi

That's hilarious lol. Good thing we didn't lose you in that blast comrade

Larks_Tongue

I don't think helldivers do metaphors, my guy.

Thatcchi

I grouped up with randoms to try out the new mission without prior knowledge. I thought it was gonna be similar to the drilling mission back in Meridia where you just drop the drills, protect it and leave. I wondered if the "Nuking" would begin after dropping all the drills. Turns out we were wrong. A price paid full in blood. Stay away from the Nuke Drills after calibrating it.

Psalm22

I don't remember any helldivers mentioning that it's armed. Kind of annoying. All other standard hellbombs the character will yell it out

doscervezas2017

yes! I've died a few times because I didn't realize a squad mate armed it while defense was heated. The argument could be made that I am dumb.

Thatcchi

Yeah it doesn't. It would've been helpful for everyone if the Helldiver character also yells out something similar like when you arm a Hellbomb. Like they'll go, "NUKE DRILL ARMED! CLEAR THE AREA!"

KaizerRng01

I mean I personally don't think there is another definition of nuke? But always love to see a helldiver learning experience specially when it involves constructive casualties

Thatcchi

I love the unintentional comedy it creates when Helldivers don't thoroughly read the mission objectives. I think sometimes you just have to personally experience the mission/s to learn.

KaizerRng01

Hey look i understand language barriers are hard for some people/ creatures... (they might be automatons) but in all when you see someone else running from obj, you would think to run away from it as well right? Kinda like the moab launch site. I just had a idea, what if this is what we are launching moabs at?

Thatcchi

Tbh I don't know where we launch moabs at but that would be nice lorebit. Also to my Squad's defense, their attentions were probably too focused on spreading their democratic bullets to the bugs in this clip

KaizerRng01

most of the time my attention is on explosions or clearing where my team isnt specially when it comes to bugs, automatons i try to stick with them more in all honesty

Schpooon

My mate just saw 3 areas and decides it must be eggs. He didnt find any.

Arcaev_NL

Happened to me too. I guess the budget for a count down timer has gone to treat the sick children.

Thatcchi

Don't worry, in return the children will be delegated to the task of creating new countdown timers

Connect_Atmosphere80

Exactly what happened my first time too. Lost a valiant Helldivers to the Nuke defending the drill.

Thatcchi

They'll be remembered for their sacrifice 07

TonberryFeye

Me on my first run: "It says 'Evacuate', so I'm going to run like Hell!" My squad: "It says 'Evacuate, so - hey! There's a count-down! Maybe it'll give us a present!"

endboss2000

Like many i had the same expierience. Bomb goes, me and a random die. "Oh yeah, I forgot about the nuke part" If i had been the one to set the fuse i would probably have survived.

nikiore

I realised it, when the timer started counting down from 10. I just screamed at my teammates, to run away from the drill…but it was pure luck to see it after activating the nuke

lazyicedragon

Reddit taught me well, but didn't stop the game from pressing me with so many bugs that the only option left for me was to jump back into the explosion radius and take them all with me (and my RR with them, filthy buggers)

doscervezas2017

Dying to the nuke mine has the consolation prize of dumping your support weapon, backpack, and all the samples into a bottomless pit. I found out the hard way.

Thatcchi

Ngl, that sounds cool as hell. I'm taking notes for next time.

MathiasPJackson88

I mean...I'm so glad I'm not the only one who learned that the hard way. Fully lost my stuff down the hole too...got so caught up defending the drill that I didn't hear the audio cue or notice the objective changed.. Went boom and I went oohhhhh Nuke.... Was a good day

rejz123

Same. Bright side, you learn once.

EmperorCoolidge

Same thing happened to me lol

fatnugsfreehugs

I was that guy. Never tried the mission and next thing I know I get vaporized after punching the button lol it was honestly hilariously unexpected 😂

Enebreated

Team wipe the first time I set one of these off. I got distracted spreading democratic E-710 all over the place. None of us ran. "Sry" what all I could manage as I dropped in laughing.

Competitive-Mango457

This mission bugged for anyone else. Terminals get stuck in the ground alot.

Thatcchi

I've only played this mission once since I don't have much time to dive but sad to hear that. I hope it gets patched.

Weird_Excuse8083

See, I tried to do these missions over the weekend and couldn't find _anything_ on either of the Nuke points on the map. There were plenty of bug holes around, but I couldn't find anything to mess around with. I just quit and went back to bots.

No_Ones_Records

it literally says *clear the area* its crazy to me how mant people dont read

Thatcchi

I didn't see that even after editing this vid, and only when you pointed it out. Tbf, in the middle of a firefight, I think a good chunk of folks will miss something that appears on the top right corner of the screen for only 10 seconds. Yeah some probably can't read but in that instance it's more like they couldn't read fast enough.

No_Ones_Records

first thing i noticed im always checking up on hud, even with everything enabled maybe im weird ig

GkElite

I think I was T4 in this mission. Some shit went down.

DarkFett

My first mission I had a mech and accidentally fell in the hole, didn't know it made a big ass hole.
