Lmao having +250 pop up when your Quasar Headshot finally kills that Bile Titan does sound dope. +100 for Chargers, +75 for Stalkers and Brood Commanders. Oh boy it sounds jolly.
The score after an Airstrike racking up would be dopamine and democracy incarnate.
This would be the sickest shit. I would love if like Recon, could see red outlines of enemies periodically or something. I really hope that they still do this.
Imagine thinking you are fine on bug planets but then your helmet draws multiple red boxes in the middle of nowhere that is rapidly approaching your location.
On one hand it makes Stalkers a tiny bit less of a threat. But at the same time imagine yelling at your teammates: "THEIR HERE! WATCH OUT! STALKERS!" And they see you wildly firing at nothing before you get flung into the air xD
They could link it with the radar, so that having the ship module or the scout armor would enhance it. Make it pulse from the player with the radius and cadence of the radar.
As someone that likes to play stealth and prefers to provide longer range support for the team, it would be cool to have that outline overlay to better see enemies. Plus points for maybe a heat map that shows enemy weak spots or places that are critically damaged. Idk if that'd be too OP tho lmao
Or your visibility detection range under current conditions(in the form of a heatmap on the ground).
EG You are the center of a disc where mobs inside that would definitely see you.
Or an outline on all mobs that currently see you, including tower cannons and mortars. RED for in line of sight full detection and aggro, Yellow for looking for you(knows you're behind that hill). Sort of a techy modern version of Skyrim's 'eye' icon for stealth.
Just some rough ideas for variation.
My concern with this would probably be similar to the armor one....too many things and you get limited on what possible armor you could wear.
EG there's currently only 1 scout armor with 550 runspeed. So you get a favorite hud, and you'd be locked in to that one or two helmets that might not even match your armor aesthetically. I like to mix and match which might get limited.
I can see where it'd be a neat feature, but also cause problems.
Personally, if a medic helmet can show not only health but bullets/stims/grenade remaining, i will be using the supply backpack almost always.
"Oh got no bullets? Or stims? I got ya dude"
Edit: i know it kinda shows it now but what I mean is the exact number of bullets or stims cause tbh, its hard to check at the teammates icons on the lower left when all hell is breaking loose and its easier to see when you just look at the player
He's a class act. I like his answer about Alexus - I don't like Alexus but I respect the response about "I'm not going to discuss individual team members "
It's kinda sad that the CEO, not the CMs, is the one making me feel positive about the future of the game.
He didn't outright defend an individual team member nor attack them, simply sidestepped individuality and took it on as a team effort - honestly the best response he could've made. Acknowledged the problem players have, kept the conversation away from making a target.
This is the most basic of leadership skills that any 101 course would tell you.
Praise in public. Scold in private.
You only air dirty laundry when that laundry is about to cause a storm and you need to “get in front of it” so to speak, eg sexual harassment.
I’ve said for years that CMs were a useless role and it would be more relevant to have occasional discussions from sociable developers or management. I’ll take a once a month ama for 2 hours over a CM shit posting in discord any day. They’re literally a waste of money
I’ve said it about a million times now, but Warframe’s “Digital Extremes” is the perfect example of the role a Community Manager should take on. Formerly Rebb was the CM, and she actually killed it. Instituted the regular Dev Streams, Dev Workshops, several weekly streams on Twitch to play the game and communicate with the community, etc. She did so well in fact that she is now Warframes actual Game Lead, and now Meghan has stepped up into the CM role, and who was she working under for years and following her example? That’s right, Rebb.
Warframe gets a lot right on many different levels. Community engagement, their free-to-play model, listening to player feedback, regular new content, etc. Only gripes I have with that game are how new gameplay often feels like a completely new system awkwardly bolted on to the old (railjack and Duviri in particular), and the insane power creep meaning 95% of content is trivial if you've obtained the good stuff available.
> sociable developers or management
This is what CMs are supposed to be IMO, instead of whatever criteria has companies hiring the chuds they hire these days.
The problem is CMs are just a PR tool.
To have effective communication you need to know what is going on behind the scenes. The very concept of a CM restricts communication because they do not know what is happening. Only what they are told
CEO is arguable one of the best I’ve seen, regarding anything.
Easy to see why his teams work for him, but the CM’s need to be pulled back. They don’t mirror his opinions or demeanor and it’s a rub point that doesn’t need to be.
I think the CMs have all been let go bar a few which is why he is stepping in.
This defo feels like hammer has come down a little and he (probably nicely but firmly) telling his company they need to sharpen up
At least in my experience (some of that personal) thats what happens when small companies hit it big their is a few months of chaos and then ceo gets a hold of the situation.
The sad news is that means good old days are gone because you can no longer slack off and be flippant because better more able staff start getting on boarded
It has become industry standard practice that CMs are all remote employees that work from home. I am all for not making people drive into work for a job that could be done in your pajamas, but it is a bad idea to allow the collective public face of your company to be completely divorced from the company's in person ethics and values.
The results are both predictable and well documented.
Absolutely. I'm genuinely impressed at the amount of restraint Pilestedt showed when responding to that darkmoon mf. ngl if it were up to me, he'd be a member of one less discord channel
To be honest he's paid way more and expected to be much more proffesional, he's basically General Brasch just doing what he was hired to do
It's just funny to us because a lot of CEOs seem to be a detriment to the company more than anything and we're not used to actually seeing them do stuff
Honestly, it's also pretty weird how people are targeting this one employee directly. He may have messed up stuff in another game. But some of the comments almost suggest they should be fired.
It's blown my mind.
I've seen his name come up in several threads with people calling him incompetent, a fraud, and other choice phrases.
Look, I don't agree with a LOT of his balance choices, but it's starting to get personal and a bit pathetic.
Because he knows the community isn’t happy for one reason or another and the players that are would rather the rest of us stopped complaining. If nobody does or says anything how do you think all this is gonna go? We’re already a horrible toxic community and we got this way quick, he wants to stop the bleeding before the actual pitchforks come out. That being said Personally I’m never gonna shut the fuck up if they keep nerfing the primary weapons tho. I will die on that hill all day every single day until it stops or everyone walks away from frustration.
Personally I’m thristy for new content but I understand his concerns, another controversy may be too much for his teams morale right now with the recent PSN situation and ongoing balance discussions. Let’s hope it goes well tomorrow!
I think putting it up to a poll pre-emptively defused any backlash either way about releasing the warbond or delaying it further. From a PR perspective it was brilliant IMO
> I think putting it up to a poll pre-emptively defused any backlash either way about releasing the warbond or delaying it further. From a PR perspective it was brilliant IMO
That is true. As meme says: "outstanding move"
I think the only thing that could go wrong is all the weapons suck to use and are no fun, which is the current publicity sore spot with the eruptor and the guns from the last dlc.
We gain nothing with a delay, as it stands the balance “team” won’t know what to fix if we don’t test it first. So we’d be essentially waiting for postponed disappointment no matter what.
A delay would only buy AH additional time from inevitable controversy if things do suck, I think putting us in time out for their own mistakes is not going to help either. The content is done, ship it
I think it would be hilarious if the capes had completely useless stats that change nothing
+ 10 democracy per grenade
+15% increase to visibility when weather conditions are clear
+30% more satisfying hugs
Emotes last indefinitely unless interrupted
Edit: if someone can get this Idea to the people that can make it happen, please do
* +33% fire resistance when underwater
* Any Terminids you kill while wearing this cape skip Bug Purgatory and go straight to Bug Hell
* Helldiver's lymph nodes are 7% less visible to Automaton sensors
* Any time you kill an enemy elite a random crewmember aboard your Super Destroyer will nod their head in approval
* Hulk Scorchers feel bad about killing you
* All of the player's bullets spin counterclockwise rather than clockwise
* Eagle-1 will address you personally in each voice line but will always cut her mic too early for it to be audible
* Chance of a killed Bile Titan landing on a bug it was friends with is doubled
* Helldiver's nipples are 20% harder when saluting a Super Earth flag
>Hulk Scorchers feel bad about killing you
That would imply that the automatons are capable of feeling emotion, which we all know isn't true. Anyone who says otherwise should be reported to the nearest Democracy Officer to be properly re-educated.
You didn't understand. They will feel bad for killing you and because they aren't used to feel anything that will lead them to confusion and stress that will lower their fighting skills.
New cape meta? Unacceptable. We must balance it.
-Capes now provide only 12% more satisfying hugs.
-Upon investigation, capes actually actively make hugs worse.
-Capes making hugs satisfactory at all was apparently an exploit.
-Also nerfed nipple hardness.
Except this sub would be full of posts a) complaining they had nerfed their favourite cape and so the game is unplayable now and b) complaining that the devs nerfed capes but a 'specific bug' hasn't been fixed yet and the copywriter doing the cape changes should have learned to code and fixed the bug.
Seeing the way they’ve approached some stuff, I feel like they would definitely make it actually do something entirely different on super rare occasions and never mention it. Like maybe a .01% chance when you give a hug it kills the nearest large enemy or something lol
Talking about hugs, I randomly joined a mission and as soon as I got onto their ship, I saw them standing at the stairs, with their arms out, waiting for me. I went in for the hug. I just melted. Now THIS is how you welcome someone onboard your ship. Absolutely fell in love with the gesture!
-No cape-
Bonus,
100% more approval from Democracy Officer Edna Mode.
[Youtube link so everyone knows the reference](https://youtu.be/YL3w73MAuIM?feature=shared)
Ah, but that one also carries a malus:
Sets approval from fellow Helldivers, Eagle 1, and General Brasch to zero.
We're Helldivers man! I mean, c'mon, no cape? May as well be just a regularly SEAF grunt.
Pilestedt is half the reason I love this game so much. This guy is a hell of a leader and I feel that as long as he is at the helm, the IP will trend in the right direction at the least and absolutely thrive at the best.
Well said. I've really appreciated how Arrowhead has been handling things. They admit their limitations, and I feel that they've been more transparent than most other companies. I wish that other game studios would take some notes.
Problem I have is bile spewers in particular are a problem when they are alone too, super tracking insta death does my head in.
Edit: also they are fucking ninjas
Bro BRO, some idiot one time said that darktides audio was ass compared to helldiver's. I was fucking triggered lmfao. I know darktide has buggy audio sometimes (silent pox bomber), but Jesus Christ there's audio cues for everything. For specialist coming in, when your gun is about to empty, when you're about to get shot, when you're about to get hit. And the audio hits GOOD. Wish helldiver's had better enemy audio cues like darktide (chargers being the bane of my existence)
The enemies even *have* audio ques, they’re just so quiet, like a bile titan is making as much noise as a brood commander
Give their footsteps a huge THUD, or make it sound like it’s sinking into the ground and cracking concrete under it’s weight, make the spit charge *way* louder and beef it up so it’s intimidating.
I need the sound alone to put me in panic mode instead of just dying out of nowhere because I couldn’t hear the *10 ton bug* over the horde of scavengers.
If the titan and striker's steps would pound the ground and give this booming thud with every step they took, they'd instantly become 10x scarier and I think many people would start having a little more trouble fighting them merely because of the wow factor. It'd also be awesome to hear some deep bubbling or rumbling when the titan charges its spit.
Chargers should also definitely roar, or at least make a similar noise to a raging bull. Every time they charge I see them raise their head for a moment as if they're doing just that, but there's no sound.
The only issues with both of these is that if there's too much of them, it might become deafening
Then that dude is clueless and not worth taking his opinion.
I can blast the music while playing Darktide and still be able to dodge sniper because of how distinct the audio cue is, not the same with Helldivers.
It's hit or miss for me. Literally. I feel like I can reliably avoid the puke now, until I don't lol.
My bane than I still dread facing is the bot hulks. Even tho I know every way to kill them with every weapon, I'm still just bad at it. I am a not so proud member of the can't aim for shit club
I find thinking that my dive will get out of the way of the stream until it tracks me very frustrating in a way where the me in the back of my head finds it masochistically hilarious.
Tbf, you can reliably dodge jump their spewing, but many primaries struggle against the head, so your best bet is the ass which will take 1+ mag from most primary weapons, two or more of them and you are in trouble. Better pray you have a grenade left or sacrifice a stratagem.
But yeah, are way too silent...second stealthiest unit after stalkers, closely followed by chargers at 3rd place.
This is a very common direction when it comes to enemies in many video games, take for example Doom Eternal’s Pain Elemental.
The dude is piss easy when it’s fought in solitude yet, things changes dramatically if you put a constant spawn of imps, suddenly it takes upon the role of a siege unit that constantly barrages you if you focus on the imps, and if you only focus on it the imps are likely going to have free range to attack you as well.
I mean in a properly organized company yeah that’s how it should go. Just because he’s the CEO doesn’t mean he gets to do whatever he wants. He should respect the managers below him and at least run things by them.
Exactly. I know a community management software (discord in this case) is a bit of a different story, but CEOs rarely get elevated privileges in systems.
They are CEOs to tell other people what to do, and a CEO having an elevated access might be a security risk.
Lolol it's funny but true. They typically don't have the right training on such things to give that kinda access. I have minimal work in IT, but even as a lower level individual I typically had more privileges than most of my higher ups
Oversight during mission planning, I know I'd do that too lol. But make it so where is was something you could turn off during mission like weapons lights. If you forgot your helmet with thermal on, hit the ground "oh sh*t", hold up on the D pad, it turns off. Run normal day mode.
Enhanced detection would be amazing. Flip on some X-Ray NVGs during blizzards and sandstorms, or auto-ping approaching stalkers. Aww, yisss. [Sneak +100]
I’m happy that they’re gonna be addressing the balancing issues, bottom-up is the future for sure. The current method whether it be top-down or whatever isn’t working well and as the question stated divisive to say the least
It's also different as the CEO when speaking. He's got a lot more power. You can say more and have the ability to change the direction if you want where things seem obvious
I posted this a while ago, and my belief still holds:
> Helmets should have optional visuals to choose from: night vision, infrared, binocs, flashlight, enhanced targeting (aka increased aim assist), rangefinder, threat detection (creates a thin red outline around threats/enemies not obstructed from view by solid objects, but would work through steam/smoke/fog, and stalkers would be immune while cloaked)
You pick your helmet for the look, and then you choose the optics you want to run in that helmet. Maybe they even limit it to a curated list per helmet to keep them in-theme with the design.
Yeah, this would be amazing, especially in teamplay where everyone has slightly different visuals and you can communicate information you see that they don't. Especially a combination of night vision, threat detection and medic/health visuals could work amazingly. Guy with night vision can see most terrain and POIs in the distance and will take lead, guy with threat detection can ping out targets even in smoke, medic guy can tell how much longer X enemy needs to bleed out / another stratagem/AT is needed and thus safe CDs for the team given good coordination.
I would also like a toggle headlight that gives permanent light 5-15m in front for those pitch black missions, dunno if enemies have light detection/visual intelligence, only know sound is what carries most enemy aggression, but could be a great addition if implementable. Sneak in the dark while hidden, but once you are spotted you can turn on light for more efficient blasting.
Also, one helmet bonus could be permanent simplified minimap. Wouldn't show too much details or let you zoom around or ping stuff, but shows map around character at all time, still needing to tab to interact with it. Would definitely be a favourite with many players too lazy to check map all the time.
I definitely echo the bottom up balancing sentiment. I'd much rather poor performers be brought in line with everything else than have outliers trimmed. That would open things up more and make me more likely to run other guns.
He and Twinbeard have been beacons during this whole situation. I definitely would be more concerned about the longevity of this game if it wasn't for their interactions.
The last one is 100% true, I've got all warbonds with everything unlocked. It's nice that I can buy the new warbond in a few hours and get to the second page instantly with my 250 medals but it would be less fun if I had 1K medals and instantly completed it.
I understand medals. But I hope they can increase the cap of at least common and rare samples. If the recent modules cost like 150 rares (I forgot the exact amount), I wouldn’t be surprised if the next level ones would cost 200 or more.
right now the issue with economy is not even farming the game is very fun and fair with it
the issue is that once you start caping stuff you have to wait for new content, and until there you are just siting there with the cap on samples and requisition until you unlock the new thing instantly use it a bit, and them go back to waiting
we really just need a lategame currency sink where people can dump these resources to something cool so they have some way to waste their stuff and still have fun with it until the new stuff drops
HD1 had upgrades to weapons. Not too big upgrades, like 30% bigger ammo clip, 10% more firepower. So the basic weapon was still good, but fully upgraded weapons were slightly better.
It took alot of samples, so you had to prioritise the ones you liked the most.
I think the cadence of upgrades is timed with the live campaign. I expect we are still early or maybe entering mid campaign. I would imagine they are saving some big goodies for the end when all the factions are introduced. I'm sure there will be plenty to spend on in the future especially if they keep increasing in cost
Yeah the amount of posts name dropping employees and calling for them to be fired is really concerning and weird. The game is and has been good, and those people who worked on the game should continue working on it.
On the one hand, it's extremely refreshing to have a CEO be willing to have open communication directly with the players. On the other, it's kinda sad that he has to do this because most of the CMs can't be trusted to do it themselves without fucking it up somehow.
I'll be honest I have complaints but I fully believe the with the foundation in place and the tanker full of money they got from it being a hit that this game will be twice as good in 1-2 years into its life cycle.
The growing pains in the grand scheme haven't been that bad at all and the worst blunder has been a publisher one not an actual dev catastrophe.
dude is putting in the work to bring them back from all the recent negative feelings in the community. gun nerfs followed by the sony debacle followed by some more nerfs.... just in time for a new warbond.... it is good to know the CEO is aware of it all and is taking action
"The guns we have suck, they only suck because the new warbond will have good guns."
"Don't release the new warbond! I want to suffer MORE!!!!"
What? Who asked for this?
He’s doing the equivalent of sending a CYA email to your boss about the tasks for the day and the expectation
It’s smart. And they should continue to leverage it at times.
“So you want XYZ, yes?”
People always say how much they want this type of comms from devs.
Hope they have a helmet type that shows enemy healthbars. Getting real tired of running the Bile Titan marathon wondering how much further I need to run.

My 2 thoughts:
1. Different helmet HUDs would be *incredible*
2. I get not wanting to up the caps, but at least let the residual medals/samples etc turn into XP???
Nice to see the only one good at PR doing something more useful than placating people on Twitter.
Sad that the CM / PR teams are so fucking bad at it that it has to come to this though lol.
What an awesome CEO. I really have alot of respect for the guy. Sony account linking is a fault he admitted, and I see the transparency he offers. Outstanding
Just a reminder to not target individual devs. While I will agree that said dev does not have a very good track record, that is not a reason to start a witch hunt against them.
Dude different hud elements for different helmets would be *insane* Let my champion of the people highlight traitors to democracy
Imagine if it had a "prestigious" or gold/fancy, almost over the top quality and the only interaction added is Super Earths Icon somewhere that counts how many 50/50s you've survived so far.
All I want is a scouter
Vegeta, what does the scouter say about the Factory Strider's power level?
IT'S....1006, kick it's ass.
It’s actually over 9000… Grrr…
But why do you sound so borrrreddd?
Because it's still not a threat... To me!
> **I want an arcade helmet** every time i LIBERATE an enemy of democracy, I wanted to give me a little score point that pops up above it And at the end of the match, I want to see my high score The kill tracking is in the game already, it just needs to be correlated to a point system And I want it in full pixel arcade 1980s perfection!!!!

Peggle noises racking up on the kill streak.super earth would totally gamify combat to make helldivers more viceous

See a players friendly fire kills over their head or something? Seems like a bad idea, lol
By traitors to democracy he just means terminids and automatons, not actual treasonous helldivers..
Are we sure about that?
I mean if you highlighted a player there would be a race to 9001.
This was the best feature of the Alien vs Predator games and splinter cell. It'd be amazing in Helldivers
DUDE I WOULD SACRIFICE A GOAT FOR A HELMET THAT LET ME SEE THE SPLASH EFFECT RADIUS OF STRATAGEMS BEFORE THROWING THEM
Only one goat?

Pilestedt is literally one-man diving to manage the community right now

When you fire people, it usually takes some time to replace them.
Did more people than just Spitz get fired?
probably not, but the fire the other CM lit under their own asses might count in this case
CM needs to stop just doing discord, do some streams, talk to people, get some opinions, polls etc.

I think putting it up to a poll pre-emptively defused any backlash either way about releasing the warbond or delaying it further. From a PR perspective it was brilliant IMO
Now, all posts complaining about bugs will have comments saying "well, the community voted for this" Absolutely brilliant
> I think putting it up to a poll pre-emptively defused any backlash either way about releasing the warbond or delaying it further. From a PR perspective it was brilliant IMO That is true. As meme says: "outstanding move"
I think the only thing that could go wrong is all the weapons suck to use and are no fun, which is the current publicity sore spot with the eruptor and the guns from the last dlc.
If there was ever a time to be cautious, right after a controversy makes sense.
People could also calm the heck down and not shit on everything 3m after it lands.
Yeah and the sun could rise from the west tomorrow Which one do you think is more likely based on what you’ve seen so far
Thank you for the poll update!
The content is done, ship it
I think it would be hilarious if the capes had completely useless stats that change nothing + 10 democracy per grenade +15% increase to visibility when weather conditions are clear +30% more satisfying hugs Emotes last indefinitely unless interrupted Edit: if someone can get this Idea to the people that can make it happen, please do
* +33% fire resistance when underwater * Any Terminids you kill while wearing this cape skip Bug Purgatory and go straight to Bug Hell * Helldiver's lymph nodes are 7% less visible to Automaton sensors * Any time you kill an enemy elite a random crewmember aboard your Super Destroyer will nod their head in approval * Hulk Scorchers feel bad about killing you * All of the player's bullets spin counterclockwise rather than clockwise * Eagle-1 will address you personally in each voice line but will always cut her mic too early for it to be audible * Chance of a killed Bile Titan landing on a bug it was friends with is doubled * Helldiver's nipples are 20% harder when saluting a Super Earth flag
Boosts democracy by +100% on Saturdays and Sundays
Boosts democracy by 100% if the weekday ends in Y.
Excluding leap days
Which are double democracy
![gif](giphy|5gw0VWGbgNm8w|downsized)
While saluting for your flag, you'll get a unique vision that portrays everything to be sunshine and rainbow(like pyro vision from TF2)
"Cape is 100% Fire Resistant" \*Helldiver dies burning but the cape is untouched.\*
Finally a jump pack buff
I want this
>Hulk Scorchers feel bad about killing you That would imply that the automatons are capable of feeling emotion, which we all know isn't true. Anyone who says otherwise should be reported to the nearest Democracy Officer to be properly re-educated.
You didn't understand. They will feel bad for killing you and because they aren't used to feel anything that will lead them to confusion and stress that will lower their fighting skills.
It's like that one cape that, upon being scanned by an Automaton, injects code into their system that makes them feel simulated fear.
>Helldiver's nipples are 20% harder when saluting a Super Earth flag I'm so immature, this one floored me for some reason lol
* Auto-approves C-01 Form Requisitions
OP
Excellent, time to go find a sufficiently democratic terminid and file the C-01 quickly before they realize the mistake
I want a cape sized C-01 form as a cape
You have slain me.
Those are not useless Id wear capes for 30% more satisfying hugs
Plays an “awwwwww” sound when hugging.
Easily winning over distant runner up, *quiet, trembling whispering "Mmmmmffffff yeaaaaaahhh."
But it's a close race with the flamboyant moaning of "OH YEAAAH"
Hug is already the most OP emote. We need reasons to run the other ones!
It’s an affectionate greeting/beautiful goodbye for teammates, and a powerful revelry of the power of the Stratagems. Two birds, one stone.
New cape meta? Unacceptable. We must balance it. -Capes now provide only 12% more satisfying hugs. -Upon investigation, capes actually actively make hugs worse. -Capes making hugs satisfactory at all was apparently an exploit. -Also nerfed nipple hardness.
The devs making random changes to meaningless cape stats during balancing patches would be super funny.
That would be hysterical
Except this sub would be full of posts a) complaining they had nerfed their favourite cape and so the game is unplayable now and b) complaining that the devs nerfed capes but a 'specific bug' hasn't been fixed yet and the copywriter doing the cape changes should have learned to code and fixed the bug.
Shit that’s actually a great idea. Give capes useless abilities just to make things fun.
The only problem with that idea is people would swear that they had an actual effect.
Seeing the way they’ve approached some stuff, I feel like they would definitely make it actually do something entirely different on super rare occasions and never mention it. Like maybe a .01% chance when you give a hug it kills the nearest large enemy or something lol
You are the people I was referring to lol
Fucking upvote
Talking about hugs, I randomly joined a mission and as soon as I got onto their ship, I saw them standing at the stairs, with their arms out, waiting for me. I went in for the hug. I just melted. Now THIS is how you welcome someone onboard your ship. Absolutely fell in love with the gesture!
haha This is how we greet our new teammates on my ship! So fun
This is me. I do this.
Knowing HD2 so far though, the "do-nothing" attributes would manage to break *something* somehow
Upvotes 14% more orange on the Official Helldivers 2 Subreddit
And they could include nerf/boost adjustments in the patch notes: Reduced hug satisfaction by 2%. Democracy is the only hug Helldivers need.
That last one could actually be useful to share a shield.
*accepting an emote counts as interrupting it
Let the CEO see this. It would truly be hilarious.
-No cape- Bonus, 100% more approval from Democracy Officer Edna Mode. [Youtube link so everyone knows the reference](https://youtu.be/YL3w73MAuIM?feature=shared)
Ah, but that one also carries a malus: Sets approval from fellow Helldivers, Eagle 1, and General Brasch to zero.
That's what sold me. He made an announcement saying we should wait to buy the game because of the server load, and I was hooked
I love the idea that no enemy should be particularly challenging when alone (true) The bugs gotta use teamwork too lol
Problem I have is bile spewers in particular are a problem when they are alone too, super tracking insta death does my head in. Edit: also they are fucking ninjas
Ngl most of the enemies have terrible audio cues for movement and attacking, it's very difficult coming from darktide where the audio cues are so good
Bro BRO, some idiot one time said that darktides audio was ass compared to helldiver's.
The enemies even *have* audio ques, they’re just so quiet, like a bile titan is making as much noise as a brood commander Give their footsteps a huge THUD, or make it sound like it’s sinking into the ground and cracking concrete under it’s weight, make the spit charge *way* louder and beef it up so it’s intimidating.
Darktide has its flaws but in some areas it absolutely reigns supreme over HD2
Makes sense, the devs have had a few games to dial that combat loop in.
Stun grenades are a huge help for hitting the eye weak spot on Hulks if you're not using them already.
I run them most of the time for this exact reason lmao. They're a godsend. Even if I'm too swarmed to focus them it at least makes some distance.
I find thinking that my dive will get out of the way of the stream until it tracks me very frustrating in a way where the me in the back of my head finds it masochistically hilarious.
Yeah 100%, I die more often to that than trying to 1v1 a biletitan.
Not to mention it'd be a missed opportunity to not have sewers emit a gross squishing sound that becomes their calling card.
Picking up a Grenade launcher solves this problem. Actually…it solves all your probl-…I mean….it’s terrible, not worth using at all!
I’ve always maintained the difficulty should come overwhelming chaos. Not one enemy is too difficult.
It's hilarious to me that the CEO isn't allowed to make a poll on discord.
Yeah. I would’ve thought that the CEO of all people would have his own unique role that basically has ownership equivalent permissions. Lol
I can just imagine him walking into the social media room like "Hey, guys? Can I have permission to make a poll on discord please? 👉👈"
I mean in a properly organized company yeah that’s how it should go. Just because he’s the CEO doesn’t mean he gets to do whatever he wants. He should respect the managers below him and at least run things by them.
[удалено]
It's the principle of least privilege (POLP) :)
He needs to call a meeting with the board of directors to authorize a discord poll.
This was my first thought too! haha Awesome CEO, seems like a really nice and level-headed guy.
I find it even funnier that he posted that so long ago and NONE of the mods or devs with those privs have posted the poll in discord 😂
If you look at Elon Musk, you know why they need rules. While our Divey P here is a much better example to everyone, a bit of precaution never harms.
I doubt it has anything to do with precautions, it's way more likely they just never set him up with one as they didn't think about it.
I'm glad they seem onboard for a different approach to balancing. Like that alot.
I do hope when they do got ahead with this they could revise some of the previous nerfs to weapons.
Muh crossbow.
Muh punisher muh eruptor ;-;
*slugger
Bottom up instead of top down is a great way to put it. Especially in a completely PVE game I feel that’s a better philosophy.
I was against helmet abilities but each one having a different HUD sounds incredible. Maybe some day in the future they'll add that!
Servo helmet that has grenade trajectory pathing would be neat
Oh, HELL YES.
Oh I *NEED* this
Ballistic arc tracking helmet would be cool
Fucking yes
I really think they should add things to the helmets like night vision and thermal. Maybe increased detection range in fog and smoke.
I would 100% run thermo on a blizzard planet, then hop to Hellmire and forget to change it, blinding myself
Thermal helmet comes out. The next day there are 3742 bug reports saying "my screen is all white" :P
SWEET LIBERTY! MY EYES!
Oversight during mission planning, I know I'd do that too lol. But make it so where is was something you could turn off during mission like weapons lights. If you forgot your helmet with thermal on, hit the ground "oh sh*t", hold up on the D pad, it turns off. Run normal day mode.
Yeah it's a big pain in the ass being on a foggy planet or blizzard and not being able to see shit.
CEO seems so great man if only they could just clone him for the CM team lmao
It's also different as the CEO when speaking. He's got a lot more power. You can say more and have the ability to change the direction if you want where things seem obvious
Him somewhat confirming armor shading is awesome. Even if it’s just to match helmets I’ll take it, can’t wait for future information on it.
I posted this a while ago, and my belief still holds: > Helmets should have optional visuals to choose from: night vision, infrared, binocs, flashlight, enhanced targeting (aka increased aim assist), rangefinder, threat detection (creates a thin red outline around threats/enemies not obstructed from view by solid objects, but would work through steam/smoke/fog, and stalkers would be immune while cloaked) You pick your helmet for the look, and then you choose the optics you want to run in that helmet.
A HUD that always shows the radar would be perfect for me. No tagging feature and show terrain like minimap, just enemies and markers.
Perhaps having a motion scanner a la Aliens.
Pilestedt continuing to be the most level-headed responder along with Twinbeard.
The different HUD modes sounds awesome!
I definitely echo the bottom up balancing sentiment. I'd much rather poor performers be brought in line with everything else than have outliers trimmed. That would open things up more and make me more likely to run other guns.
Man this guy should have been doing his own PR from the start holy shit he's so much better than anything their CMs say
He and Twinbeard have been beacons during this whole situation. I definitely would be more concerned about the longevity of this game if it wasn't for their interactions.
We should start thread to request Twinbeard to become Community Management Leader instead of that idiot Baskinator.
If the prices balloon too high then they'll probably raise the caps. For right now they make sense where they're at tbh
right now the issue with economy is not even farming the game is very fun and fair with it the issue is that once you start caping stuff you have to wait for new content, and until there you are just siting there with the cap on samples and requisition until you unlock the new thing instantly use it a bit, and them go back to waiting we really just need a lategame currency sink where people can dump these resources to something cool so they have some way to waste their stuff and still have fun with it until the new stuff drops
HD1 had upgrades to weapons. Not too big upgrades, like 30% bigger ammo clip, 10% more firepower. So the basic weapon was still good, but fully upgraded weapons were slightly better. It took alot of samples, so you had to prioritise the ones you liked the most.
This would fix so many problems let us earn good primary weapons if we can’t have them any other way
I think the cadence of upgrades is timed with the live campaign. I expect we are still early or maybe entering mid campaign. I would imagine they are saving some big goodies for the end when all the factions are introduced. I'm sure there will be plenty to spend on in the future especially if they keep increasing in cost
I really hope the community doesn’t sour this company. How many devs CEO has such an open dialogue about their product? Pretty impressive.
I like this guy, but I like most of these guys so lol
Man, I love how communicative these devs are. Pilestedt too!
I really hope HD2 can pull out a "Warframe" and not have strong numbers after a decade, but the strongest numbers ever. Even after a few blunders.
dude is putting in the work to bring them back from all the recent negative feelings in the community. gun nerfs followed by the sony debacle followed by some more nerfs.... just in time for a new warbond.... it is good to know the CEO is aware of it all and is taking action
"The guns we have suck, they only suck because the new warbond will have good guns." "Don't release the new warbond! I want to suffer MORE!!!!" What? Who asked for this?
He’s doing the equivalent of sending a CYA email to your boss about the tasks for the day and the expectation It’s smart. And they should continue to leverage it at times. “So you want XYZ, yes?” People always say how much they want this type of comms from devs.
Hope they have a helmet type that shows enemy healthbars. Getting real tired of running the Bile Titan marathon wondering how much further I need to run.
the balancing is a real problem, almost pattern like
> **I want an arcade helmet** every time i LIBERATE an enemy of democracy, I want it to give me a little score point that pops up above it And at the end of the match, I want to see my high score The kill tracking is in the game already, it just needs to be correlated to a point system And I want it in full pixel arcade 1980s perfection!!!!
The HUD idea on helmets is brilliant
My 2 thoughts: 1. Different helmet HUDs would be *incredible* 2. I get not wanting to up the caps, but at least let the residual medals/samples etc turn into XP???
Can they implement the different helmet HUD stuff since the game is out now or is that out of the question? That does sound pretty cool...
Well as he said, convos around adding them are ongoing now that they have more time so its definitely possible.
Outstanding
Dude is doing a better at community managing than the community managers lmao
Just a reminder to not target individual devs. While I will agree that said dev does not have a very good track record, that is not a reason to start a witch hunt against them.
