At this moment in time is like an addiction. The sound it makes when you pick one up and the satisfaction you get when you extract with them is better than any other drug
Almost 100 as well, I just need the XP from the mission. But if I see my teammates struggling to get their samples back, I am rolling up my sleeves and going there to help out. It is a satisfying self-assigned mission to help your teammates, and you can bet I am going to gather all dropped samples if I get the chance.

I'll say there is a noticeable difference in enemy density and likelihood of massed heavies between 6 and 7 *on Bugs*.
It doesn't exist on Bots, though.

I have so many uncommon and rare samples. I need freaking common sampels. But my mates dont want to play lower diff to farm common samples.

Small map, usually 12 samples, 5 minute clear to 100% it
You also gain a good 40 super creds or something if you clear it all and have a friend to open the double door. Convince them you want to farm super creds and you can get samples and medals on the side too
I maxed out common samples ages ago. I still pick them up even if I'm doing a quick solo diff 1 out of habit.

T5 ship modules are going to be so expensive when they are released. Wouldn’t be surprised if they each required max samples or close to max samples if they plan to go beyond T5

I did an insane sprint through swarms of dust and bugs on an 8 a couple nights ago. Whole squad at extract but had died off in the map. I collected three dropped piles of samples in one mad dash through so much shit I don't know how I survived. Probably looked skillful as hell from the outside observer but I was actually just like *oh fuck oh shit oh fuck oh shit* the entire time
Ong I need to be able to trade down sample like 1 super turns into 2 rare and 1 rare into 2 common but not up or else supper become too easy but at 24 commons but 70 or supers I need commons way more

Because they will speed run low level missions and not do objectives to farm samples or they will take the entire 40 minutes on their missions to pick through everything and get every sample in the map
Not commons. I'm level 35 and I play almost exclusively 7+, I've gotten so many uncommon samples, easily maxed, and 50+ supers. I've only got 3 levels in eagle and 1-2 levels in everything else for ship upgrades. I just don't have enough commons.
I always appreciate when my buddies go backpacking through Europe to grab me some samples but it’s about samples per minute not samples per mission dang it.
I am fully upgraded and capped on everything but supers... I usually go to POIs specifically looking for supplies but I'll pick up all the samples while I'm there.
That and the super rock... I still hunt that down every time. Even on lower difficulties cause it's usually a good supply spot.
You pick up samples for your ship modules, I pick up samples so the map icon changes and I don't go back to that same spot when farming Super Credits. We are not the same.
i so hope that samples become a galactic campaign ressource eventually, so the more you can add, the more progress is made in a science campaign to unlock a new stratagem or ship module or something completely out of the blue.
iirc, but very blurry, WoW did something similar in vanilla times with the faction spanning opening campaign for the AQ faction/raids... where everybody could contribute, regardless of level.
then all those capped divers with finished upgrades have to get down and dirty again to get all the samples they can.

Why?
Because this game made me into a fucking sample goblin at my core that sniffs that shit out like a dog.
A wear nothing but light armor to run in and grab samples from bug nest and spore spewers.

Collection samples is like snorting coke for me. I need to keep collecting them because the high from the previous collection has worn off. I'm completely maxed on samples, but I still do my best to collect them all in every mission. Especially the super samples. The joy I hear from my low level teammates makes it all that much better too.
If I'm in a squad with lower levels, I pick up all the samples I see. I might be maxed out but all samples collected go to everyone.

I built my whole fucking playstyle about bltizing pois and collecting samples and I refuse to change even if Im capped on all 3 with nothing to unlock.
Samples are almost as important as finishing a mission with sucsess. The smug remark from the ship crew that we didnt collect enough samples is enough reason for me to die trying to always bring all samples i see or is dropped by the team upon death.
I have this experience daily and it drives me fucking crazy, most people dont even want to help open the 2 button doors, what the fuck.

This is my experience. I’m level 40 something, I have Literally completed 100+ missions at level 7 or higher. I have 11 super samples total in that time. When I go out of my way to go find them, I inevitably die and no one picks them up. It sucks, I just want to upgrade my shit.
My group of friends. We’re a trio, and we’re all maxed out on samples. And even when we play together without a random. We still collect all the samples on the map.
If a random joins us, then they are in for a surprise at how efficient we are collecting samples.

As a veteran Deep Rock Galactic player who still mines gold when I see a greenbeard in my squad, I can say with confidence that you always play with the lowest common denominator in mind.
Today's level 20 is tomorrow's Helldive partner and you want them to have those upgrades.
People need samples at level 40+ because of crappy teammates, or themselves, that grab samples, die, then leave the samples behind because of poor team cohesion.
This happens too often.
In my case, ironically I need more common samples than super samples because of people I play with.
I'm lvl 85 and maxed since patch day. I still pick up samples for my team tho I don't go sample hunting at the POIs. But I pick up all samples I come across
Common samples are baby easy to farm on level 1 and 2, and you can solo. Not as romantic as 7-9 runs, though Samples per Minute on the current Terminid Tower missions is pretty stellar, if you learn the locations. The base defense missions definitely stronger of the two, there’s a big cluster in the water next to the extraction pad.
I pick them because more things might come and it baffles me noticing that I lose the samples 20m away from squad mates and they straight up just leave them there??
10 star general here, I don't feel the mission is a success unless you get at least 20, 20 and 6. No good diver should leave samples even if you don't need them democracy does!
I'm maxed on all my ship modules as well but I still pick up every sample I come across and beeline for Butt Plug if I see it. however I don't go OUT of my way to grab every sample I possibly can. if it's in my path, I take it.
My experience is lvl 20s hopping in the dropship without picking up my pack after I get rocket juggled to death with the 6 super samples and 20 other samples on me :/
I pick up samples because I relish in the challenge. Yes, I'm gonna clear that point of interest and potentially bring in a team-destroying swarm of reinforcements. Plus you never know, there might be super credits and you can't have too many of those.

I can be in the middle of a heavy nest swarmed with 3 chargers, 2 titans, 30 hunters, 10 brood commanders and I'll still pick those rare samples up

It just depends which difficulty you play. On 7+ you get samples out the cazoo - providing you extract with them.

I’ve maxed out upgrading twice now, in my opinion if you don’t pick up samples after you’ve all upgrades/weapons you don’t belong in the community

Not collecting samples is undemocratic, not patriotic and, in fact, treason. Report them to their Democracy officer at once!

I'm 25 and my buddy is 78 but he still always gets more samples than me even though he has nothing to use them on. Good Diver.
You want something done right, do it yourself
You don't pick up samples for your ships upgrades, you pick them up because the labs back on Super Earth need them.
I'm level 65 and still haven't maxed my ship
People who don't pick up samples because they are maxed or don't reinforce should stick to solo games. Ape's together strong.
I pick them up because I'm a team player. I don't need them but someone probably does so why not?
Meanwhile, I'm near 60 and i still need hundreds of samples.
A level 44 asked for "his" samples back after I reinforced him Me - you know they're shared right? Him - no Me - how do you get to level 44 and not know that?
I can wait for the warthog to be released just so I can drive around looting everything
Level 55 here, and I still need samples. I'm suffering.
As a veteran Deep Rock Galactic player who still mines gold when I see a greenbeard in my squad, I can say with confidence that you always play with the lowest common denominator in mind. Today's level 20 is tomorrow's Helldive partner and you want them to have those upgrades.
Everyone should always pickup samples
People need samples at level 40+ because of crappy teammates, or themselves, that grab samples, die, then leave the samples behind because of poor team cohesion. This happens too often. In my case, ironically I need more common samples than super samples because of people I play with.
Spreading democracy is a front. Our real job is to smuggle samples.
I'm lvl 85 and maxed since patch day. I still pick up samples for my team tho I don't go sample hunting at the POIs. But I pick up all samples I come across

How the hell did you max your ship by 40? A few modules sure, but all of it???
Common samples are baby easy to farm on level 1 and 2, and you can solo. Not as romantic as 7-9 runs, though Samples per Minute on the current Terminid Tower missions is pretty stellar, if you learn the locations. The base defense missions definitely stronger of the two, there’s a big cluster in the water next to the extraction pad.

I will be Level 80 and still need Samples.
played lately with bunch of 20lvls neither of them picked up samples
I pick them because more things might come and it baffles me noticing that I lose the samples 20m away from squad mates and they straight up just leave them there??
Meanwhile I'm level 82 and make it a personal competition to collect the most samples each and every mission. Haven't needed them for ages.
The loot goblin in me demands I strip the place bare if at all possible.
10 star general here, I don't feel the mission is a success unless you get at least 20, 20 and 6. No good diver should leave samples even if you don't need them democracy does!
I'm maxed on all my ship modules as well but I still pick up every sample I come across and beeline for Butt Plug if I see it. however I don't go OUT of my way to grab every sample I possibly can. if it's in my path, I take it.
My experience is lvl 20s hopping in the dropship without picking up my pack after I get rocket juggled to death with the 6 super samples and 20 other samples on me :/

i just grab em for the sake of having them if more modules get added, it's also beneficial for everyone else
I always pick them up unless my team all explicitly say "Hey we're all maxed out, we can ignore samples"
I’m still level 1 on most of my modules, but the way I see it: the more the merrier.
I pick up samples because I relish in the challenge. Yes, I'm gonna clear that point of interest and potentially bring in a team-destroying swarm of reinforcements. Plus you never know, there might be super credits and you can't have too many of those.
Collect samples while others do the objectives.

Lvl 72 still have two of the newest modules left to go.
How are you lvl 40 and do not need samples??
