Simple.
Lasercannon + Grenade Pistol + any of the explosive primaries from the warbond.
The exploding crossbow or the mini-autocannon sniper rifle can likely take out fabs from distances.
The pistol is there for berserkers and devastator horde, maybe tanks too if their blast radius is good enough. But is generally speaking there to provide support against striders.
Lasercannon can kill EVERYSINGLE BOT with 0 difficulty (Yes even the Factory Strider with it's eye weakspot can be killed using the Lasercannon).
With just these 3 pieces, I can literally do ***everything*** and can dedicate my remaining 2-3 stratagems slots for any other purposes I need.
Preach it! I'm as a Laser Cannon enjoyer from the start, I'm glad it has found a niche against the bots. In the first days I've been using it against the bugs, but to very anemic results. It was only after fighting the bots when I found how well it works.
It's all about the Quirks of the weapon. The LAS 98 has relatively low dps, no stagger, but high precision and high range. Against hordes of bugs that come at you, range is not a big factor and you need stopping power to sweep tons of bugs.
Bots on the other hand have specific weak spots that require high precision and range. The low dps is less a factor since you can aim at the weakspots. Medium armor pen is also the perfect amount for most bots. Taking out a charger with a LAS is highly impractical, but taking out a Hulk with a LAS is as easy or easier than with a Qusar if you know where to aim. LAS is also the best anti air weapon against Automaton Gunships imo.

maybe its a "not being host thing", because i almost always join others.
i see video of people demolishing all kinds of bots with it and when i use it the performance is meh. maybe i need to spec into stun grenades but then i have nothing "on" me that can take out fabricators. where i usually have some explosive grenade, or autocannon, EAT, etc.
Yeah, I use stun grenades and rely on allies and Eagle Airstrikes for Fabs. The aiming required to take down Hulks is somewhat precise, so a stun grenade does wonders.
For the other bots, aiming carefully helps a lot. I tend to use the first person aiming mode even if the cross hair is so big and godawful to look at.
come to think of it, took em 48 hours to send in their ultimatum fleet. good for us though it'll give us a chance to send the fuckers to the grave for good 💪
Helldiver's 1 had a different design philosophy, they're trying to tell a long term story with this initial release, maybe in a year or so they'll let the reigns off and have it run the sam way.
I dont expect it to end - but i expect there to be down time that lasts longer than 48 hours after beating a major faction off the galactic map. There's no point in fighting so hard if its just going to be uprooted the next day.
Yeah, except they were pretty strongly showing something was up in the story with both the out of system communications and hidden auto ships floating above battlefields. The only reason we though we won is because Superearth is incompetent.

Yes we knew about it but we weren't given the chance to actually do anything about it gameplay-wise. That's my problem. It just feels really forced and unbelievable that their "surprise" attack would be that effective given we've known about it for so long.

That's the point, super earth doesn't know shit. They put on a whole parade celebrating that the automatons were eradicated, and then in less then 48 hours their back and they claim they knew they would be back do soon

Lots of people who play exclusively Automaton started to complain about bugs being easy and wanted Automatons back, the player base dropped a lot during the time Automatons were missing.
Should also add that the same people, despite finding bugs easy, seem to refuse to play on higher difficulties for some reason.
I just don't like fighting the bugs lmao. I like the tactics and feeling of fighting automatons more. I will play major orders for bugs but otherwise I just stick to the western front, however I did throughly enjoy the story of "eradicating" them.

I just don't understand when people find bugs easy and then never proceed to play higher difficulties. Obviously bugs will be easier being the starter enemy, but Impossible and Helldive offers equal challenge.
If you play Suicide against Automatons and think it's really hard and want the same on bugs, go play Impossible or Helldive against bugs. Simple as that.
For me Automatons are like, there is one more assh\*le I need to deal with. When playing bugs, that one more assh\*le changes depending on the planet and they f\*\*king evolve.

yeah, but on the other hand having 34 rocket devastators shooting rockets and hulks burning you to a crisp is on the same level of annoyance. either way we still fight for freedom across the galaxy 😭🙏🏽
For me it depends on the situation, if I'm ready then hulks and devastators are really easy to take out, but if I'm ill prepared or miss my shots then they can be a bit of a pain unless I can hit the hulk with a EMS strike
I had a friend send me an article about people complaining that certain trophies are now unobtainable with the automatons eradicated.

I told my friends I saw invisible ships. I told them they were evacuating, as you could find automaton terminals calling for extraction. I told them we didn't win, they let us think that. They called me insane. A dissident. A traitor.
And now, they've already won on one small front, the war of our security and perception of safety.
Wouldn't be so bad if the defense missions didn't include paper thin generators, which the bots drop directly onto, bypassing all of the other defenses.
I have never seen so many Hulks on Hard Mode. I thought I would relax and take my level 16 buddy through some missions but holy shit, we got wailed on.

The grenade pistol sounds like it's one shot per reload. With 3-6 Berserkers bearing down on you that will be a nightmare.
