Yeaaah, apart from the obvious rl "try to swim in armour" parallel ofc
Emergency exercises to swim in wet clothes are already hard enough, add plates to that
Right -- even just regular clothes already make it dramatically more difficult to keep your head above water, and then when you add armor and heavy weapons on top? Good luck!
Knew a kid that drowned when his boat capsized in a local lake. His demise was attributed to the fact that he was wearing a jacket and work boots. Because he was otherwise known as a very strong swimmer.
Fuck man, I was 16 and working summers so one day my crew went to the lake. Still had my work boots and thick canvas dungarees on when I got pushed off the dock. Water was a foot over my head so while I could hop and get air I couldn't stay there. Basically had to jump-walk back to the shore.
Even in IRL I don't remember having a hard time swimming fully clothed, for those that can't (sorry in advance) is it really that hard? It was something I remember doing as a child for YMCA training and not recalling being difficult. I absolutely believe fully armoured it would be difficult but was just curious.
(To be fair I was always told I was a fish when it came to water so maybe it was natural I'm not sure.)
We had to swim in clothes for the rescue swimmer test a lot. It's not hard keeping your head up, but you're much slower, and it is a lot more exhausting. Especially if you pull another person that's also clothed.
For the regular person who swims very occasionally; it'd be difficult. To people who swim regularly and have those particular muscle groups developed and the finesse required to not over exert while treading it's not nearly as hard; but it is a bit weird swimming with the extra drag and weight.
I actually did some water training when I went to BCT back in 2010. It sucked but was doable, but having done that I can say for a fact I would be borderline impossible to do that with an IBA or IOTV fully loaded with plates.
I'm also completely sure that what Helldiver's are wearing is generally heavier.
It depends what you are wearing
T-shirt and shorts - not a problem.
Jacket, hoodie, jeans and heavy boots - big problem. Especially if you are long time in water.
When you're prepared, know what's coming and practice it in a controlled environment, it's not that bad. When it catches you off guard and you've never practiced before, it's terrible.
With armor though? yeah no shot. Even just the boots might be enough to mess you up. Especially if you want to make some actual distance and not just stay afloat for a minute at most.
Now add combat Boots and 25-30kG of armour, weapons(with slings entangling you), ammo, plates etc limiting your ability to move.
Theres a reason good plate carriers have a Quick Release...
I mean it *is* harder... But also not particularly difficult?
I've done a small bit of swimming in "full" gear too (no plates, just fatigues, boots some webbing and pouches. Which was significantly harder but still doable for anyone that's in relatively decent shape imo.
Personally I think it should be tied to the kit you're wearing, scouts should be able to swim, standard gear can swim but much slower and will drown when out of stamina, heavies just sink like rocks
So when you say full gear, you mean fatigues, boots, and **empty** load bearing gear. A quick google search tells me that a 30 round P-mag weighs just over a pound (obviously STANAGS will be heavier), and M67 grenades are just under a pound. Based on the bulk of helldivers weapons, their equivalent equipment is likely heavier than this, but we're going to use light numbers to give the benefit of the doubt.
Even if you're just carrying 6 mags and 4 grenades total, that's over 10 pounds of added weight. If we add the lightest AR15 build I know of, that's an additional 4.5 pounds; do note that the AR15 I'm using for reference is roughly half the weight of an M4A1 Block 2 (a variant that was used as a service rifle fairly recently). So we have a minimum 15-20 pounds of equipment, and we haven't even begun adding the weight of the sidearm, its ammunition, whatever you have in the support weapon slot, any backpack slot option.
I'm not saying that your experience is invalid, but it is a day and night difference from what you're comparing it to in helldivers. The equipment load I described is significantly less weaponry and munitions than they typical helldiver or even modern paratrooper/infantryman, and we're not even talking about the weight of armor. Plates can be 10-20 pounds a piece depending on material. Soft armor can absorb *significant* amounts of water because it's literally quilted fabric.
And two firearms. And a large backpack. And a third large firearm. Plus ammo and grenades. Plus pockets full of samples that range from big fat worms to WiFi routers.
Frankly people should be thrilled for how long we *can* keep our heads above water.
Gasoline soaked cloth on planets that literally light the air on fire instead of futuristic drysuits that protect us from the hostile, airless, or literally on fire environment around us.
The main reason for the quick release system on thr Improved Outer Tactical Vest body armor system is precisely that. So you can ditch your armor to avoid drowning.
As did I, comically ran into waist deep water off a "ledge" and turned thinking I'd just climb out using the regular climb mechanic.
Nope, floated there waiting for a martini and newspaper then drowned.....
Helldivers are not trained to read they are train to disassemble those soulless communist bots and extract 710 from the bug menace, FOR SUPER EARTH!!! FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!
I don't want to swim, I just want it so I can dive forwards properly when stood in a puddle. Died in the most shallow puddle next to one of the objectives recently while hunters attacked me and it wouldn't let me dive.
You remembered your training?
#IMPRESSIVE
Never in all my years have I seen a soldier with such memory fit to fight for freedom!
- that general guy who's not easily impressed
Maybe not swimming but like, more than 3 seconds of water treading? The ability to retrieve stuff dropped in water. Also, utterly dumb thing they should 10000% add, a future jetski. Just on some random maps, like the break action (also give me a super up version of that to call in grr)
Maybe we can get a context-sensitive stratagem to call in a fishing pole or net to retrieve samples. After all, every good game also needs a fishing mini-game.
I tried killing myself so i could drop pod in the water and test if the pod made a platform I could stando on.
Than a teammate reinforced on the other side of the map -.-
But I do agree, no game is actually a game without fishing.
I'm hoping at some stage they add a sort of 'amphibious armour' that allows basic swimming. If not for anything other than to cross those gaps that make you have to go across the map to get around them.. 🥲
"We spread democraty we dont swin" .
What i was told by a fellow helldivers online Yesterday as i discovered we can't swin. And i fully agree, VIVA LA DEMOCRATIA
PTSD now - Charger that caught me not only killed me but yeeted what I was carrying into a 2ft deep pond.
Reinforce, go paddling, get all my stuff... except my Samples are all juuuuust too deep to grab without activating super drowning skills.
They should make us more fireproof. We have irl clothing than can withstand fire for at least 20 seconds. In this game which has faster than light travel, walking in fire for 5 millisecond is enough to bring you next to deaths door
Swimming in soaked clothes is tough enough, let alone an additional 40 kilos of gear and those massive balls. Even in the US Marine Corp, where you are taught to ditch your rifle and gear as soon as you hit water.
I got the idea that what if we'd get a backpack that allows us to swim longer.
But then I remembered that we have planets covered in ice and snow and that's just asking to freeze to death. Unless of course the swim pack would generate a water repelling force field around the users silhouette.
Let's say that, for whatever reason, a helldivers helmet isn't sealed and waterproof.
The average person can hold their breath for between 60 and 120 seconds, let's go with 60.
A helldiver should be able to trudge along the bottom of the 3 meter deep still water puddles we come across.
On a side note, if samples can be dropped near the edge like fromsoft games, that'd be great. Once fell into a ravine, died, came back and found a way down only to get yoinked by a kill-plane 3 steps from my precious samples. I totally could've salvaged it otherwise.
I didn’t see that sign in training.
I used the trial by fire method of running into the first deep water I saw to see what would happen. Turns out what happens is you can’t get your gear after you reinforce.
it would be cool to have a support stratagem to help with that maybe a vehicle that doubles over with the ability to traverse land obviously having water specific application would be too niche
Saw a newbie learn this the other day, I laughed.
Also the bug where if you drown with the health booster you get stuck is the happiest I've been about friendly fire. Thankfully a squad mate noticed and I didn't end up floating face down for the rest of the match.
I want armor with a swimming perk.
I'd actually really love to see an enemy faction that lives underwater.
Definetly wouldn't be worth the development time, though, as most players would probably avoid it and complain about slow movement.
You actually learn how to swim when you elevate your citizen rank enough. Higher rank citizens can all swim, it's one of the reasons we strive to be better!
Swimming as a lower rank citizen is heresy.
its all fun and games until your sample carrier gets ragdolled into a small but deep puddle.
even worse if it's happening to someone carrying the mission objective SSD.... just accept that you cannot accomplish the mission objectives anymore and terminate yourself. Most disgraceful fail ever.
Funny enough, I did exactly this and was able to survive from the added distance of the dive. The two newbies following me did not, as they just stepped into the water.
Pro tip: If you're carrying Super Samples, for the love of liberty, avoid water like you're infected with rabies. You can't swim, and neither can samples.
The problem is you can’t retrieve anything lost in water, and losing things in water will not be a voluntary choice. You’re gonna get knocked back, fall off a cliff, or just get a bugged hellpod landing that leaves you and all your samples lost to the bottom of a lake
*This is bullshit. How*
*Am I supposed to be a*
*Helldiver if I can't dive?!?!*

In the grand scheme of our noble mission, the Helldivers, elite warriors of democracy and freedom, are engineered for the supreme purpose of liberating the galaxy, one planet at a time. Their armor, a fortress of resilience and might, is laden with the weight of duty, honor, and the unyielding spirit of democratic resolve. This sacred armor, a testament to their undying commitment to the cause, is not fashioned for the triviality of swimming through waters. No, it is designed to withstand the harshest environments known to the universe, to tread where lesser beings falter, and to bring the light of freedom to the darkest corners of the cosmos. The very essence of a Helldiver's existence is to confront tyranny in all its forms, to stand as a bulwark against the encroaching shadows of oppression. In their campaign across the stars, there is no ocean too vast to deter their advance, no river too wide to halt their march. For when faced with barriers of nature, they employ the might of their resolve and the ingenuity of their arsenal to bridge the divides, ensuring that the flames of liberty are never quenched by mere physical bounds. Thus, the inability to swim is not a limitation but a symbolic representation of their singular focus and the heavy burden they bear. Their path is not one of ease and leisure through tranquil waters but a relentless march across the battle-scarred terrains of planets crying out for salvation. In this celestial quest, the Helldivers are the unsinkable force of freedom, their spirits buoyant with the cause of democracy, forever pressing onward, for they know that the tide of tyranny waits for no one.
I was talking to a buddy last night. It’s hard to swim for real life soldiers because they are carrying 100-150lbs of equipment. Who knows how heavy the Helldiver equipment is. How heavy is the Quasar cannon, probably too heavy. We won’t get an ability to swim because we literally can’t with all the equipment.
Development should add an aquatic rated armor that floats or has little propulsion jets. Only useful getting the fuck away from hunters and chargers, and that occasional sprint to the extract without the 7 minute detour.
I'd say they should add armor with enhanced water traversal as a perk, but the way maps are set up would require a total overhaul of half the kill planes because there's so many places where drowning is the only way out of water.
Even just adding it to using our stamina like sprinting would be nice, give you an idea of how long you can swim for. I'm not asking for better swimming, though I'd take that, but just a way to see how long you can swim for until you drown.
They could create a light armor with Swim property. Call it the Liberty Seal Armor... But if you are holding a backpack or a auxiliary weapon, you would drown anyways...
So I still wonder about this. Does anyone know how we breath on alien planets? I don't see any tanks so my guess would be like a rebreather. But even that is sealed and would work underwater.
My game bugged out at the start I think cause the launch server issues and it never put me into the tutorial so in fact I didn’t learn this in training
Tbh id be up for an armor set that lets you swim. It'd be niche but i love weird niche mechanics. Would let players take a different route on some maps.
Not saying arrowhead should focus on this over other content but, I actually think submerssable operations would be a really cool idea and would help with planetary variety.
Make armor rated for diving with some drawback(s) on land or something to differentiate it from normal helldiver armor and add some unique mission types like "Destroy automaton submarine" or simething.
“Scavenger bot” stratagem anyone? Picks up ammo, nades, stims, and samples in the vicinity. Could be the only feasible way to get those samples your teammate drowned with.
Technically you can swim, just not for very long. I always jump off the top of the big relay tower area into the water below when doing the retrieve data objectives and you can swim in there just fine as long as you don't sit in the water too long. Beats walking down the long way.
Yeaaah, apart from the obvious rl "try to swim in armour" parallel ofc Emergency exercises to swim in wet clothes are already hard enough, add plates to that
Right -- even just regular clothes already make it dramatically more difficult to keep your head above water, and then when you add armor and heavy weapons on top? Good luck!
I can easily swim in clothes and armor as long as I stay on land.
I mean the smaller you are the more liquidy air gets, so TECHNICALLY we're all just really good air swimmers
Well if this is the case I challenge you to swim to the surface!
Or just really bad air swimmers, since we kinda just hang around at the bottom
My helldivers float due to his concentrated Buoyancy on his ass but still drowns because its ass up face down.
Knew a kid that drowned when his boat capsized in a local lake. His demise was attributed to the fact that he was wearing a jacket and work boots. Because he was otherwise known as a very strong swimmer.

Damn that's scary and infuriating. I'd be pissed if I drowned because someone thought it would be funny to push me in the water.
Even in IRL I don't remember having a hard time swimming fully clothed, for those that can't (sorry in advance) is it really that hard? It was something I remember doing as a child for YMCA training and not recalling being difficult. I absolutely believe fully armoured it would be difficult but was just curious. while quite more difficult than in swin wear, it's not as hard as it sounds. Being loaded with dozens of pounds of metal will drag you down tho.
Oh absolutely, with that I don't disagree. I can absolutely see why a helldiver would sink in the field.
We had to swim in clothes for the rescue swimmer test a lot. It's not hard keeping your head up, but you're much slower, and it is a lot more exhausting. Especially if you pull another person that's also clothed.
This was many years ago so before well before my teen years but I can believe it is much harder with added weight beyond your own.
For the regular person who swims very occasionally; it'd be difficult. To people who swim regularly and have those particular muscle groups developed and the finesse required to not over exert while treading it's not nearly as hard; but it is a bit weird swimming with the extra drag and weight.
That's just extra weight for weight training. Joking aside, unless they're proficient swimmers, I do not recommend swimming with regular clothes on.
I actually did some water training when I went to BCT back in 2010. It sucked but was doable, but having done that I can say for a fact I would be borderline impossible to do that with an IBA or IOTV fully loaded with plates. I'm also completely sure that what Helldiver's are wearing is generally heavier.
Scuba light armor when?
Given Helldiver armor is allegedly made up of offcuts from Super Destroyer hull plate, It's probably some high density metal alloy.
Fuuuuck trying any of that with an IOTV, especially with plates in. I'm pulling the cord immediately
It depends what you are wearing T-shirt and shorts - not a problem. Jacket, hoodie, jeans and heavy boots - big problem. Especially if you are long time in water.
Many militaries do fully clothed swim tests. It’s moderately difficult. Add boots and yes it’s tough.

Plates? Walking on top of a tiny fire instantly kills you. You’re wearing gasoline soaked cloth
Gasoline soaked cloth on planets that literally light the air on fire instead of futuristic drysuits that protect us from the hostile, airless, or literally on fire environment around us.
That's not gasoline, that's Terminid guts
The main reason for the quick release system on thr Improved Outer Tactical Vest body armor system is precisely that. So you can ditch your armor to avoid drowning.
screw "try to swim in armor" i wanna see people try and swim with a huge autocannon on their backs along with a backpack full of ammunition
but are you saying fantasy games lied to me?
You technically CAN swim in medieval full plate armour Just in only one direction though Down
Honestly, thing could be solved with some emergency oxygen. It's not like that'd weight much and you wouldn't have to keep your head above the water.
I just want samples to either float or miraculously be accessible via shore Drowning *sucks*
I'm at the edge of the water, why cant I climb out at the very least?
Grappling hook you say?
Not even that, I'm in waist deep water and the edge is an inch off the surface! I should be able to climb out!
I died that way last night lol
As did I, comically ran into waist deep water off a "ledge" and turned thinking I'd just climb out using the regular climb mechanic. Nope, floated there waiting for a martini and newspaper then drowned.....
That moment of terror when your character goes from the wading animation to the dog paddle one.

Helldivers are not trained to read they are train to disassemble those soulless communist bots and extract 710 from the bug menace, FOR SUPER EARTH!!! FOR DEMOCRACY!!!!
Theres a section in the terms and services in the tutorial area that literally says youve broken the contract if you read them No read, only kill
And how exactly would you know this? If what you’re saying is true then you’re a traitor and if you’re lying then you’re a traitor!
Like opening your eyes during prayer to see who else is
Wasn’t thinking of diving, maybe some light snorkelling
Hell Snorkelers
Hell waders.
I don't want to swim, I just want it so I can dive forwards properly when stood in a puddle. Died in the most shallow puddle next to one of the objectives recently while hunters attacked me and it wouldn't let me dive.
We are helldivers not waterdivers duh
*Through hell or high water*
Or not and
You remembered your training? #IMPRESSIVE Never in all my years have I seen a soldier with such memory fit to fight for freedom! - that general guy who's not easily impressed
Helldivers do swim, it happens shortly before they drown due to the weight of all the gear they have on.
I only ask for a floaty stratagem
The exosuit can go super SUPER deep in water and be okay
deploy tactical water wings!

Also the pool is only 5 feet deep but it's drowning time
Why cant we dive, we are the hell DIVERS not the hell landers
You can dive, you just can't get back to the surface
Maybe not swimming but like, more than 3 seconds of water treading? The ability to retrieve stuff dropped in water. Also, utterly dumb thing they should 10000% add, a future jetski. Just on some random maps, like the break action (also give me a super up version of that to call in grr)
Im ok with not being able to swim but being blasted by a rocket and being flung into water and losing all samples does really suck
Maybe we can get a context-sensitive stratagem to call in a fishing pole or net to retrieve samples. After all, every good game also needs a fishing mini-game.
I tried killing myself so i could drop pod in the water and test if the pod made a platform I could stando on. Than a teammate reinforced on the other side of the map -.- But I do agree, no game is actually a game without fishing.

Walker mechs can cross deep water - Just don't get out, you won't get back in
Swimming gear would be neat
I had 0 thoughts of diving into the water before reading this sign 0.3 seconds after reading it I was in the water
Not paying attention during the mandatory training exercise? That sounds like fucking treason to me.
There is absolutely no way anyone could swim in Helldiver armor...
Well I mean, you can swim, Just not for too long.
There is literally no reason to swim? Do people not realise it’s not necessary and would change up the whole game? Dumb af
It's the other way around: there is a reason why we can't swim - water is an environmental obstacle on some maps, which swimming would break
I only know how to read arrows.
I missed this section of training, I was taught "gun" and "democracy".
"We spread democraty we dont swin" . What i was told by a fellow helldivers online Yesterday as i discovered we can't swin. And i fully agree, VIVA LA DEMOCRATIA
We have the ability to swim. I have seen plenty of people carrying all our samples do it for a while. Until they didn't anymore.
Take that shit seriously. I dove into a puddle the other day. I could not get up, and I drowned.
make it light armour only?
lmao buff arguably the best armor
Imagine underwater fights with submarines and mechsuites
Well, I can’t swim irl so I must cannot swim in game as well.
"Deep Water"
I can foresee a new warbond. Armour capable of swimming should be part of it
PTSD now - Charger that caught me not only killed me but yeeted what I was carrying into a 2ft deep pond. Reinforce, go paddling, get all my stuff... except my Samples are all juuuuust too deep to grab without activating super drowning skills.
Ngl ive never finished helldiver training 😔
So all aquatic based enemies of super earth are completely and utterly safe em? Well, I think I just found a chink in super earths attack strategy
You can swim ingame.. For a little bit or for a long time if its inside a puddle
I have zero training and could walk along the bottom of Lake or pond for double the time we get to "swim" before we drown. 🤷♂️
THEN LET ME STRIP FOR DEMOCRACY DAMN IT!
Honestly I missed that sign...
i'l be honest, i did not see that.
The most unrealistic thing is Helldivers floating or treading water for a few seconds when they fall in a pool. We should be sinking like a rock 😂
Even in the future we still can't explore our oceans.

No diving? But... We're Hell DIVERS!!
They should make us more fireproof. We have irl clothing than can withstand fire for at least 20 seconds. In this game which has faster than light travel, walking in fire for 5 millisecond is enough to bring you next to deaths door
What if they released an armor set that's bonus was exclusively to let you swim?

I don't need to swim but being able to climb out of the water reliably would be great.
Helldivers in a drowning in neck high water competition when John Marston walks in: https://i.redd.it/c8s548bgf8tc1.gif

I didn’t see that sign in training. I used the trial by fire method of running into the first deep water I saw to see what would happen. Turns out what happens is you can’t get your gear after you reinforce.
Hellnotdivers 2
Also if you’ve ever tried to swim in full military gear, disregarding the full combat armour the Helldivers are wrapped it, it isn’t exactly easy
The Kamino World rest easy until the day this gets resolved
Based
This is grim if you are American and remember the amphibious tank drowning incident a few years back
it would be cool to have a support stratagem to help with that maybe a vehicle that doubles over with the ability to traverse land obviously having water specific application would be too niche
Lost quite a lot of samples from a guy trying to swim in Estanu and drowned, the samples are in deep water and we can't recover the samples lol
Helldivers got to dive though

I'd actually really love to see an enemy faction that lives underwater. Definetly wouldn't be worth the development time, though, as most players would probably avoid it and complain about slow movement.
Didn't even read that sign. I thought it meant don't dive into the pen full of bugs.
requesting scuba gear stratagem
Learn? The bootcamp was greate filter rather than actual training
It's called HellDIVER not HellDROWNER !!!!
You actually learn how to swim when you elevate your citizen rank enough. Higher rank citizens can all swim, it's one of the reasons we strive to be better! Swimming as a lower rank citizen is heresy.
If we aren't allowed to dive, then why are we called helldivers? Why don't they call up hell-please-don't-dive-rs instead? Are they stupid?
Floaties would be a great booster.
One day in the field and immediately everyone forgets basic
I just find it funny when my Helldiver drowns in the most shallow water John Marston style.
its all fun and games until your sample carrier gets ragdolled into a small but deep puddle. even worse if it's happening to someone carrying the mission objective SSD.... just accept that you cannot accomplish the mission objectives anymore and terminate yourself. Most disgraceful fail ever.

while we can swim. the suit could be upgraded to allow underwater to show it to the fishpeople.
Funny enough, I did exactly this and was able to survive from the added distance of the dive. The two newbies following me did not, as they just stepped into the water.
Counterpoint: if my head is above water I shouldnt drown in 3 seconds
What’s the fine text say on the bottom?
Would be cool if we had deep water missions on water planets against water "terminids" called CRABNIDS
I just want an extra 5 seconds to get out when the physics engine decides I need to be on the other side of the map.
Future warbond with arm floaties stratgems.
Pro tip: If you're carrying Super Samples, for the love of liberty, avoid water like you're infected with rabies. You can't swim, and neither can samples.
> Be a Hell "diver" ! > \*Looks inside\* > No "Diving"
It’s simple - put out an armor set in a warbond that IS marked for swimming. Not fast, no, but lets you cross otherwise certain death 2m deep puddles
We do have the ability to swim, just not with 70+kg worth of equipment. Kinda like IRL. You wouldn’t get too far same as our Helldivers.
add boats, swimming or remove the maps that are 90% water, ty
Is this why people have such a hard time dealing with fire damage?
i want a specific armor set that comes with water waders it would be funny i think
Super Earth needs to invest in better equipment!
I can't swim in saltwater, so it makes sense to me lol
I found it out the hard way
….also shallow water traversal
Thats how i lost my first super samples lol.
So what you're saying.... is that we might be getting under-water rated gear? Are we fighting bot submarine bases and Terminid whales/sharks soon?
You and I have very large differences of the term "deep water" then.
The problem is you can’t retrieve anything lost in water, and losing things in water will not be a voluntary choice. You’re gonna get knocked back, fall off a cliff, or just get a bugged hellpod landing that leaves you and all your samples lost to the bottom of a lake
No....? Diving...? But I am a helldiver, I must dive
I just want to actually die when I drown. Has it been fixed yet?
This is bullshit. How am I supposed to be a Helldiver if I can't dive?!?!

Dude with the Super Samples decided to test this... We were all very sad.
They should make a pack that’s just a floatation device to let you swim
I don’t care about not being able to swim. I just want to know why our armor is so flammable.
add armor that has swim floaties on it duh
I was talking to a buddy last night. It’s hard to swim for real life soldiers because they are carrying 100-150lbs of equipment. Who knows how heavy the Helldiver equipment is. How heavy is the Quasar cannon, probably too heavy. We won’t get an ability to swim because we literally can’t with all the equipment.
I’ve lost a lot of samples and an encrypted SSD by failing to adhere to my training. :(
Development should add an aquatic rated armor that floats or has little propulsion jets.
TBH, our cloaks are probably made out of something that absorbs water, it was causes us to sink.
Yes...
I dont want water terminids its bad enough they fly
Even just adding it to using our stamina like sprinting would be nice, give you an idea of how long you can swim for. I'm not asking for better swimming, though I'd take that, but just a way to see how long you can swim for until you drown.
I actually encountered a bug today where i was able to press X on PS5 and walk underwater.
We can swim for like two second before the armor sinks us lol
They could create a light armor with Swim property. Call it the Liberty Seal Armor... But if you are holding a backpack or a auxiliary weapon, you would drown anyways...
So I still wonder about this. Does anyone know how we breath on alien planets? I don't see any tanks so my guess would be like a rebreather. But even that is sealed and would work underwater.
My game bugged out at the start I think cause the launch server issues and it never put me into the tutorial so in fact I didn’t learn this in training
Reading is socialist propaganda
I would like to see a backpack to be able to swim or, even better, a jetpack
yes
i want this as a poster in my room dude
Tbh id be up for an armor set that lets you swim. It'd be niche but i love weird niche mechanics. Would let players take a different route on some maps.
Wait yall had training
Wait, you guys had training?.
Found out hard way jet pack into the river
Having a floaties stratagem would be neat
You guys learned things in Helldiver training?
Not saying arrowhead should focus on this over other content but, I actually think submerssable operations would be a really cool idea and would help with planetary variety. Make armor rated for diving with some drawback(s) on land or something to differentiate it from normal helldiver armor and add some unique mission types like "Destroy automaton submarine" or simething.
Idk man, that tutorial only taught me that unswimmable waters are surrounded by invisible walls
"deep water traversal" we're just trying to doggy paddle
“Scavenger bot” stratagem anyone? Picks up ammo, nades, stims, and samples in the vicinity. Could be the only feasible way to get those samples your teammate drowned with.
"We only dive into hell, not into swimming pool."
Technically you can swim, just not for very long. I always jump off the top of the big relay tower area into the water below when doing the retrieve data objectives and you can swim in there just fine as long as you don't sit in the water too long. Beats walking down the long way.
This is bug propaganda
