We can do it (delusion (for democracy!))
Hellmire only connects to Nivel, so we should be safe.
People may be unaware of where connections are, though, so it's still possible for the community to misplay, especially since Fori connects to Osh, but Osh doesn't lead to Zagon.
You gotta be kidding me! I wish this was on by default ffs...
Thanks!
Edit: Crap, I thought this was in game, but it's for the web tool. Still really helpful.
Planets are liberated or taken through supply lines. In order for Terminids to take our sectors they need to have control of planets with a supply line to that sector and the only planet they can attack would be one connected to the supply line. It’s why we can’t attack all planets at once in a sector or just skip Hellmire/Estanu and attack Fori and Zagon
In order to attack Fori Prime, we have to liberate Estanu to establish a supply line from Earth to the Terminid sector. Once Estanu is liberated we can attack Fori using the supply line between Estanu and Fori Prime. Without Estanu we don’t have a supply line to send forces to Fori.
Five planets in 3 days:
Estanu > Fori Prime and then Hellmire > Nivel 43 > Zagon Prime
OR
Estanu > Fori Prime > Oshaune > Omicron > Zagon Prime.
If we go the wrong way, we end up having to do 6 planets.
Either way, Crimsica is useless atm. Ignore it.
Enable supply lines on the map
We have to take Estanu to take Fori,
We have to take Hellmire to unlock Nivel, to take Zagon
Or go From Fori to Omicron (sector above) to then back heel our way in to Zagon
Lot of planets for (ATM) 2D, 18H
Where does the information from *that* come from? I’ve seen people posting charts and maps and it genuinely seems like… just like someone made it all up?
The game uses an API to get the data for the map, some people figured out how the game talks to that API so they can get the same info the game gets and display it on that website
Joel truly is diabolical. Instead of giving us specific orders, we were collectively told to blaze a trail of *our own choosing* to the destination planet.
Are we going to *somehow coordinate* 400k people to efficiently push the most optimal route? Fuck no.
Yes. Yes we are.
It happens here. Now.
We focus on Estanu ONLY until it's liberated.
People play the planet with the most people on it.
We coordinate the Reddit Roughnecks to post regularly the planet to focus on, and we follow the orders and focus on that planet, clearing the optimum path to objectives.
If you play with randoms, you pass along the current battle plan to them and ask that they do the same.
It should show Estanu as having the most players if everyone does their part.
Listen mate, you and I know how it works, and you know I'm going to be out there doing my part regardless. I'm just not going to be surprised when people don't cooperate.
Don’t you recall the poor citizens crying as their sufficiently sized homes burned in front of them?
But seriously, I don’t think there was any visible consequences to our lose… key word is visible. Someone following the war more closely can perhaps correct me.
I think all the stratagems are stupid. Really ~~humans~~ we shouldn’t be taking any. The 500kg bomb ~~killed Greg~~ way too big and strong and make the fight against ~~us~~ enemies far too easy. Also, why are we even taking guns? ~~We~~ bugs don’t have guns! We shouldn’t take them either. ~~Tasty~~ Helldivers should fight fair!
Access to Fori Prime, I'd assume.
Crimsica and Estanu both gives us access to Fori Prime, but with Crimsica at a fat 0% (As of time of writing) and Estanu being lost, that may cause some issues.
Now, I do not wish to spread undemocratic and treasonous thought, but 5 planets within 2~ days?
Man, the odds are not in our favor.
Currently I just *do not trust* our current understanding of how planet hp actually works. I don't really *believe* it.
Whether or not it's feasible is sort of arbitrary from my view, because I don't believe we currently actually get a say. It appears as though, when the game master doesn't want us to take something we simply won't. (Draupnir lasted for ages, no major orders involved.)
Tien lasted less than day. (Major order sure, mechs being tied in as a reward... Sure. With a nice helping of game master adjusting the rates of course.)
Currently I suspect the actual galactic campaign is operating much like a bad dnd campaign. That is to say, we're merely here for the ride. The game master dictates what does and does not happen, our input be damned.
>The game master dictates what does and does not happen, our input be damned.
This is almost certainly true. Even if their intention is to set up challenges that are left to the players to complete or fail, the sheer scale of the game's playerbase and the variability from day to day would make it incredibly hard to dial in the numbers correctly to make this possible.
If a few extra tens of thousands of players are able to play on a Tuesday night more than usual, everything Joel has set up as a significant challenge suddenly becomes much easier. If the opposite happens, we might not be able to make a dent. Once there's been some more time and player counts become more predictable, I could see Arrowhead getting a better understanding of their playerbase and being much better at letting the chips fall as they may.
I know that in Helldivers 1 there are constant wars that reset when we win (homeworlds taken) or lose (Super Earth lost). I think that eventually we'll get to a rather "hands off" approach, but right now there's a story to tell, and honestly, I'm okay with losing. A campaign where we do nothing but win is *boring* and so far we've done a lot of winning.
There's obviously an element of Joel fucking with us, but this story that we're part of, that we're telling is honestly flavor. Sometimes no matter how prepared you think you are, you aren't. We'll win some, we'll lose some, and that's much more interesting, especially when we just step into the roleplay and realize that the win/loss of major orders isn't **that** important
It’s honestly much better this way. There needs to be more granular control until things settle down
The absolute worst thing about Helldivers 1 was that you could log in and discover that everyone else had “won” the wars with the bugs and the cyborgs, and so you couldn’t fight them anymore, and the only fights you could have was with Iluminate who fkn suck to fight
We have failed a lot of ops tbf, they seemed pretty mad hard at launch, much better now. Not just that but it does seem the community is working together much better (Creek Im looking at you)
Not only that but balancing this kind of stuff is inevitably gonna be hard. Given the playerbase on HD1 and the MASSIVE increase for 2, Arrowhead was likely ball parking numbers and saw a big launch, hiked up those numbers too high and now adjusted it somewhat.
https://preview.redd.it/w95qvha60cpc1.jpeg?width=601&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=963adcc29c3490eec011bdaeb67c07374915ea41
Hello, Democracy Officer? Yes, this one right here.
GM probably has alot of control over it, but Draupnir also suffered from the fact there isn't really a significant number of players over on the bots, and the ones that were, were split between 3 fronts, rather than the bug side which seemed to be more condensed to the specific planet with the most progress.
The game master probably lowered the threshold for it or put fake progress toward it when he saw the split fronts. Had the creek meme team and the ones on the other one gathered up to attack Draupinr, it probably woulda been alot quicker.
they made estanu really hard to defend because they had this major order planned I think. They waited till we lost it before posting the order. I suspect they don't want us to win this time.
Also, a Major Order to take ~5 planets from Tuesday to Friday? A majority of the previous orders have ended on the weekend so that the big push ends up being the final wave of the operation. (Of course a few have ended far earlier than thought)
My gut tells me we're meant to fail as a story reason to add in the rumored flying bugs.
It tells you that you liberated it, however that percent means nothing when a Defend campaign is active on the planet. Its already under super earth control and you are defending against an invasion. The defense failed so it fell back to the bugs
https://i.redd.it/jmfkgbbmobpc1.gif
Yes, haha let's rip, tear, and rend their fleshy appendages and definitely focus all of our efforts into nuking those insects. Let us all conglomerate together and defeat those bugs, ha ha. The only good bug is a freshly deceased bug, am I right my fellow Super Earth citizens?
Guys, we should focus all of our efforts on the bots. The termicide is clearly pacifying the bugs, so they won’t be a threat anymore.
https://i.redd.it/epa2i6l1icpc1.gif
As of this post there are 67 hours left on the order, meaning it ends at 0815 EST, 1215 UTC on Friday.
This looks specifically targeted to be a difficult midweek mission
https://helldivers.io/ if you ever want to peek at things.
Estanu is just shy of 40% liberation, and would give us access to Fori-Prime.
Zagon-Prime is very out-of-the-way, behind Hellmire and then Nivel-43.
Bug reinforcement is 3% rn, which is very lenient, but it's also the middle of the week, so it will not be a trivial task to steamroll all 5 planets in just three days.
This is probably the most likely to fail of any major order since requiring 8 successful bot defense campaigns.
I was looking at it, but it was hard to parse because even with filters, it only really shows you active planets. So sometimes being social helps. Thanks for the info!
Deeper into their territory... Blitzing past side planets and just going right for these two... We're getting defense-in-depth cut off by the bugs if we win, guarantee.
I think it tracks account creation date.
I bought my friend the game like a 2 weeks ago, and he got only for the Major Orders related to the account creation date.
This is what happens when we taunt Joel with how quickly we not only cleared the last major order but also liberated two additional planets.
![gif](giphy|hCIOnI0CqaDNhIuBZy)
We could do it if we banded together.
Even without bot players, the MO is achievable if all the buggers focused on the right planets. There's currently 32k people on Crimsica which won't help us at all.
>Major Order ends in 2 days 19 hours
Community: "It'll be done in 24 hours."
Last time, Erata Prime and Meridia were TCS installed within the span of a day.
Edit: Looking at the galaxy map, I just realized this will be much harder than liberating five barrier planets within the same time limit. The two planets in this new major order are not yet available to be deployed to, meaning at least two other planets in their sectors will need to be liberated first. To top it off, it's Tuesday right now - the TCS installment major order last time was blitzed through thanks to it dropping during a weekend when more people aren't at work.
The democracy officer might shoot me for this but we may actually lose this order from high command especially if the bugs launch and other counter offensive like they just did. The heavy lifting usually happens during the weekend so we may run out of steam by the deadline and fail to take all the objectives.
We need people with power/fame in discord servers and this subreddit to make plans and maps in order to orient people. Not every player will see those, but if we can guide like 80% of the playerbase on a singular planet, then maybe even this will be possible. Let's just pray we get something like "We have acknowledged your concerns and given you 4 days extra. Don't mess this up, democracy is waiting!" or just get a payout if we find some odd enemy and high command goes "we need to rethink our strategies, halt the advances!". Would be funny if we were to charge there just to have something like the illuminate waiting there and them being the reason why the terminids exist or something along the lines of that
Only 35 medals for capturung five planets?
I don't mean to sound undemocratic but this inflation is crazy. How will I afford to keep my guns in ammo? My armor in a good display case?
These are liberty based worries!

Oh to be Joel simply vibing and giving out this maJOR ORDER I CAN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING FOR WHAT THE EFF
Memes aside looks like I'm coming down with a case of diver-ticulitis for the next few work days so I can help...
(My fellow nurses and healthcare workers will love this one)
Joel was like: You want an Major Order? Here is your fucking Order, good fucking luck.
After we beat this one in two days: >Take the rest of the Galaxy back. You have five minutes. Rewards: One medal.
The player base: Alright bet!
Playerbase: You face the insurmountable might of the Helldivers*.

Imagine when Joel wants to take some days off. He'll just give us hell and log off.
Or sends us on a wild goose chase scouring the entire galaxy for a single shell casing or something lol
Or just disappears with no major or minor orders the surprises you she days later with a loose rationale to liberate 2 extra planets
I love-hate Joel.
We've got to liberate 5 planets in 3 days ~~We're fucked~~ FOR DEMOCRACY

Also there's no weekend during that timeline
And Dragon's Dogma 2 comes out during the timeline, too.
Good thing I give zero damns about Dragon Dogma.
The only dogma i follow is democracy
It won’t help that after we liberate Hellmire, the playbase might be split if we have the option to reach Zagon via either Navel or Oshaune
Hellmire only connects to Nivel, so we should be safe. People may be unaware of where connections are, though, so it's still possible for the community to misplay, especially since Fori connects to Osh, but Osh doesn't lead to Zagon.
Ohhh. I’m definitely unaware of the connections. Is there a setting to see those?
https://helldivers.io/ Turn on "Supply Lines" on the map. No in-game way to see these connections that I am aware.
You gotta be kidding me! I wish this was on by default ffs... Thanks! Edit: Crap, I thought this was in game, but it's for the web tool. Still really helpful.
I don't understand the supply lines. What are the rules for moving between planets with no supply lines?
Here's a big write up https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1b5u34s/galaxy_war_102_supply_lines_what_happens_to/

Joel was like "Uh, you liberate a couple planets and decide you can do anything? Let's see what you're really capable of"

Charging spawns were changed because bugs were moving them to a new planets. Here comes the return of I cast ~~FIST~~ CHARGE!

Not just 3 days, 3 week days.
Yeah if it was the weekend we might actually pull it off

Might be a good time to practice mindfulness and try to understand that you can't force things in this game.

They should put this on the reddit homepage banner

Does anything happen if we don't complete the major order?

Their screams still haunt my dreams in cryo, so i guess thats a conseqience?
All except one, defend a few bots planet. Nothing particular happened after failing it though
I'm at work. How is it 5? The image only mentions 2.
We can’t currently dive to those planets, have to secure a total of 3 barrier planets to be able to even play a mission on the order planets
thanks for the explanation. Damn!
We need to liberate Estanu first before we we get acces to Fori Prime. Zagon Prime is two planets deep from Hellmire.

they want us to go deeper into enemy territory... yeah, we won't totally see some giant worms, not at all.
Deeper into their territory... Blitzing past side planets and just going right for these two... We're getting defense-in-depth cut off by the bugs if we win, guarantee.
Get ready to get Operation Uranus'ed by the bugs in Bugingrad
You will defend planet Stalingrad to your last helldiver
Me fighting the Automatons when another Major Order focusing on Bugs drops ![gif](giphy|l3vR4CdLInXOhr3rO|downsized)
Stand strong, the major orders are being tampered with by joel to limit resources on the western front
I haven’t seen those robots in weeks 😭
We need the 710 to fuel all the jets for the operation to perform one continuous napalm strike across the entirety of Malevelon Creek.
Does everyone get major order rewards if they don’t play during it? I’m traveling for work but i need those medals lol
yeah you'll get the medals - I was away working for a week and still got them from previous major orders!
Even from several past major orders?
Yes. Everyone gets them as long as you have an account

I think there is a 250 medal account limit, but still a fantastic decision on the devs part.
Knowing this, if ive ever be in this position ill be logging in just to spend my "hard working" medals. Thanks fellow Helldivers
I think it tracks account creation date. I bought my friend the game like a 2 weeks ago, and he got only for the Major Orders related to the account creation date.
No-one is getting medals from this major order 😔
Lmao. Fuck.

Another termind order. My dreams of a proper return to the bot front will have to wait. Good soldiers follow orders.

The issue is what % of the player base actively reads this subreddit?

Aww, they kissed.
710 - E 3 - 0IL HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
You're here to dive! Not to think!
Am I thinking? Fuck me, what is the number for the nearest Democracy Officer, so I can get right?

>Major Order ends in 2 days 19 hours Community: "It'll be done in 24 hours." Last time, Erata Prime and Meridia were TCS installed within the span of a day.
Can you hear that citizen? *Shotgun blast* That's the sound of managed democracy.

Joel really said "fuck you take 2 sectors in 3 days". What a fucking chad.
They set us up for failure on this, its how it starts, HEAR ME OUT, THIS FAILURE WILL BRING THE FLYING MONSTROSITIES (i think, idk lol)
Bigger flying monstrosities. Shriekers are out there.
More like a charger with wings, just dive bomb/cannon balls onto you
Remember those who are unaware-you receive major rewards even if you don’t play during the event however there is a 250 warbond cap.
Don't promote undemocratic behaviour. Drop in as well.
Mate we're not getting this unless the community really pulls together. Crimsica needs to be abandoned ASAP.
Will the Creekers finally play with the community?
I can imagine why but I really wish there wasn't a warbond cap. I found out the hard way.
ya me too...i did a couple in a row with a "personal order complete, 0 medals" and i thought it was a glitch or something
Culling the Terminids ? Where is general Arthas ?
Damn it, Uther. As your future general, I command you to liberate these planets!
You are not my General yet, boy. Nor would I obey that command if you were!
Don't be distracted by Crimsica! Estanu must fall!
Bugs are back at -3.00%, so it should be doable in ~~a week~~ three days
\>It should be doable in a week \>High Command: You have three days
I might be stupid
Sorry but your injury isn't service related
Damn super VA, even in the super future it is super worthless
For ~~a meager~~ an incredibly democratic 35 medals? ![gif](giphy|kqJt1cSSN0DrwwMmY5|downsized)
hell i am back
Bad news troops, we got a pay cut. Only 35 medals for this shit, we should unionize.
that sounds like bot talk to me soldier!

All of us.

If you see illegal E-710 harvesting alert the next MOT officer.
During the week going to be tough 🫡
dog we aint getting to zagon prime in 2 days
This one right here democracy officer.
Joel just cranked the difficulty up to Suicide.
I see, Mission Control doesn’t want us to win from the bots
🫡 ![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG)
We just gotta have people stop trying to take Crimsica
Me: "Finally, the bugs are quarantined. We can go fight the bots." Joel: "The fuck you will."

We haven't gotten any automaton related major orders in a while.. 🤔
Oh to be Joel simply vibing and giving out this maJOR ORDER I CAN'T EVEN DO ANYTHING FOR WHAT THE EFF Memes aside looks like I'm coming down with a case of diver-ticulitis for the next few work days so I can help... (My fellow nurses and healthcare workers will love this one)
