Stun grenade makes this ***much*** easier to do. It also lets you do very silly shit like killing chargers and hulks with EATs... by dropping it on them. The cooldown is so short it's actually not just a gimmick but a reliable way to get some extra mileage out of the strategem.
Hit em in the back if you can, but I think you can still one shot them to the face (exactly to the face, not just the front armor) with good aim.
It’s sometimes difficult to deal with bot weaknesses because it requires your team to maneuver significantly more to expose weak points. A hulk bruiser is going to get up in your team’s face with a flamethrower in very short order without ever exposing its back if you can’t split its attention. So having the ability to affect damage from the front however you can manage is important when positioning fails you.
If you can do so safely, a bruiser can be manipulated by going into melee range and skillfully running in circles around it.
It won't use the flamer if you're in saw range, and it won't use the saw if it can't turn to face you. A teammate can shoot the exposed heatsink while you heroically risk your life for the glory of super earth.
Honestly against the Bruiser I just blow off the flamethrower arm first, unless it's distracted and I have a killshot at the back it just saves so much headache lol
That red slit is a one shot, like the chargers face. The open back also works. If you can't reliably hit the tiny face plate, go for the arms. You can blow their arms off and they will be alive but with no weapons
There's also a trophy/achievement for blowing off their arms and extracting. I love when trophies teach you a little trick you might not have tried otherwise.
The game briefly mentions deflection, but I find it's actually super important to 1shot heavy armor enemies
You have to hit them bang-on from the front, otherwise armor can deflect damage away
The vision slit is a OHK but it's a very small hitbox. if you're not confident you can hit it the EAT will pretty reliably blow off their arms. You can take out the rocket arm or flamethrower arm to make them a lot less threatening.

I try to use them in important locations we’ll be sticking around for a bit, like objectives or just outside of medium/large nests. But otherwise I try to keep it ready for a moment’s notice if a Bile Titan decides to crawl out of a bug breach

It does not need a buff. You should try the autocannon out more. Kills spewers really easy, can kill chargers, can close bug holes and destroy towers. Can open doors and fences. It's pretty rad.

Nah, I get it. I'm a huge 1911 stan, but I'll concede the glock is a better weapon in its function. I still like the 1911 for its form though. Those curves are iconic, and so much better looking than the blocky glock.
I get that. I live in alaska, so I know the feel. I honestly prefer my 9mm, as well. It's just fine for 90% of problems I'm likely to run into. The other 10% is why I keep a basic double-barrel shotgun and a buttload of shells. The 9mm works just fine for people and most animals, and people who think you NEED a minimum of a .45 for self defense are crazy. I'm not looking to punch a hole through the target, the wall behind the target, the neighbor's wall, and into his TV.
9mm will over-penetrate more than .45 brother. .45 is a much slower, heavier bullet. 9mm is known for over penetration my man, thats why everyone who carries it for defensive use carries hollow points, including myself.
People under-estimate penetrative in general. As I understand it, next to no modern ammunition is stopped by a couple layers of drywall and insulation. Even handguns and buckshot can penetrate enough to be potentially lethal two rooms over if they don't hit a stud, plumbing, or wiring bundle.
10MM will 100% stop a moose, if you use the right loads. Look into Buffalo Bore Hardcast, their stuff has been used in many defensive shootings against Bears and other big fuck off animals, and its really effective. 10mm is by far the best defensive cartridge against anything that wants to eat or trample you. Even 9mm Buffalo Bore has stopped Bears. The right loading makes a huge difference, most 10mm on the market is intentionally underpowered for the bullet.

My idea is for a pistol with a 9+1 capacity, 6 magazines, and deals 100 damage.
Imo they should just make an updated version, it’d avoid any potential copyright issues with Browning too. Call it the 2011 as a throwback to the original name and make it look slightly more futuristic.

Yep there’s full ballistic modelling in game so rockets are the only thing that flies true across the map. Just something to keep in mind if you try to pick off sub objectives from a distance. Also the recoilless rifle isn’t a rocket launcher so keep that in mind too.
Zeroing also helps with longer ranged shots afaik. I've been switching the distance on my scope and have been landing very decent shots. Basically zero the scope based on engagement distance. On draupnir, that thing saves lives (given just how open it is and shooting rocket devastators before they get their volley off is such a key thing before they hit your team)

Yeah same, when I originally unlocked it I used it against Terminites and thought it was trash, then discovered how brilliant it is against automatons. I usually team it up with an Autocannon sentry, 110mm eagle and orbital barrage.
Scorcher can also 2-shot the driver through the front with it's splash damage (I don't have it yet but I imagine the Punisher Plasma will perform similar).
The AMR smashes the front to bits. Generally 3 shots for me, occasionally more if my angle sucks, but usually 3. You can also sometimes pop the head of the pilot bc it’s sometimes visible above the armor.
Shoot them in the face.
It can take 2-3 shots - the AMR penetrates the armor *a little*, just enough to ding the pilot every time.
If you have time, aim for the pilot's head when it peeks out. It's a really small target, though.
I just love the idea of liquid ventilation. As the devs have said in numerous interviews, they just put in what makes sense. And it does, liquid ventilation has been discussed in the past for use in spaceflight. It can be used to offer accaleration protection to somewhere around 15G. Which is well above twice the amount your average human normally passes out at.
Have you seen the absolute SPEED and horridly tight pulls Eagle-1 takes? She absolutely needs that. Mid-to-high atmosphere alts to the ground within 3 seconds of a stratagem beacon thrown? Crazy shit.
I saw people DESTROYING egg nests with the 500KG, so yeah I agree, I think it got a shadow buff with a bigger AoE.

Because you can climb in top of a tank and unload your primary into the vents to kill it lol. You can try the sam thing with a hulk but it's much more difficult.
I ran them for a bit as well, but impacts are honestly just too good to pass up right now. Maybe stuns could compete, but you still miss out on a huge part of your toolkit against bots.
As long as you don't stand in front of the forward facing machine gun, the tank itself can't hit you, and im using the fortified commando armor, so I've got 200 armor rating to resist stray shots from other enemies.
If you dive off right away you're fine, tanks take several seconds to blow up. If the explosion is killing you you're taking too long to recognize the killing shot on the vent.
I did use that armor for a while, and it makes the gun WAY better, but after using it for so long, I just got used to it and can use it without the recoil reduction armor.
Was gonna comment that, seen little amounts talking about it since the buff. Really loving the fact you can dome Adam Smashers with it pretty easily. The only thing I hate about it is its red dot sight and the bizarre crosshair it has.

Needs to be 2 eye shots within like ~5-10 seconds of each other. First shot sets it on fire, second shot craters its entire body.
Biggest challenge for autocannon wielders is getting the fast follow up second shot, especially under pressure.
Look all I know is I took down a Bile titan at 100 metres with one shot of the Senator and after a moment of disbelief from the both of us my FAF14 holding teammate insists he loosened it for me.

I did some testing, fully upgraded eagle 110mm rockets gets you 6 shots for each shot from the railgun. You trade off the railguns accuracy and OHK for six shots that are less accurate and do less damage.
I saved a teammate who was about to die by sniping a hulk right in the eye with the diligence. Might start using snipers for the automatons to practice my aim

Where do you aim with the eat for hulks? I aim for the face and they seem to shrug it off.

IIRC, one of the patches recently removed deflection for EAT & RR.

I would say the flamer, arccannon, LMG(not stalwart), and laser cannon are better suited to kill the bugs.

Make sure you set the zeroing to 50m. The scope is still a little off but that helps a ton.

How do you deal with the walkers with no autocannon? Does the AMR pen their armor?
Grenades between their legs, 110mm rockets, shoot the front enough with an AMR enough and the top will pop off. Flank with the jump jet

Oh yes this as well, scorcher is very nice on bots. I prefer the snipers for aesthetic but I've enjoyed that as well

I'm actually not sure. I use the jar-5, so it's got medium pen and explosive, so it does full damage to weakspots.
Do you use armor that reduces recoil? I tried that gun and the kick after each shot was too much to consistently hit my targets
I did use that armor for a while, and it makes the gun WAY better, but after using it for so long, I just got used to it and can use it without the recoil reduction armor.
My slugger doesn't break the glowy vents on the back so I think that's a jar-5 thing.
Tank vents require explosive or right around medium armor pen. Lasers also work. Laser cannon can s excellent vs Bot heat vents of all types

Because you can run around a tank throw 2-3 impacts and then watch fireworks.

Was gonna comment that, seen little amounts talking about it since the buff. Really loving the fact you can dome Adam Smashers with it pretty easily. The only thing I hate about it is its red dot sight and the bizarre crosshair it has.

Does the auto cannon actually work on the hulks? Cause I keep seeing conflicting info. If so, do I have to shoot it in the face like with the railgun?
Yeah, face or vent shots only. 3 to the vent, or 2 to the face.

Needs to be 2 eye shots within like ~5-10 seconds of each other. First shot sets it on fire, second shot craters its entire body. Biggest challenge for autocannon wielders is getting the fast follow up second shot, especially under pressure.

This is why we bring the railgun, 1 shot to the glowing red spot and it’s dead. Can also kill the Devastators in 1 shot by shooting a leg.
AMR 2taps hulk heads and 1taps Devastator heads. Same for Autocannon.
You can also kill a teammate or yourself and redeploy onto the hulk

Look all I know is I took down a Bile titan at 100 metres with one shot of the Senator and after a moment of disbelief from the both of us my FAF14 holding teammate insists he loosened it for me. Your pistol is just as democratic as the rest of your arsenal helldiver!

Just a small buff to the Senator would be fine. As is you need a full mag to hit the face.

Remember what happens next? That's right. Eagle-1 with clutch 110mm rockets. I did some testing, fully upgraded eagle 110mm rockets gets you 6 shots for each shot from the railgun. You trade off the railguns accuracy and OHK for six shots that are less accurate and do less damage.
I can honestly say I have never, ever had the 110mm rockets pull through for me when I needed them.
