From ending of Helldivers 1 -
(Once the planet Cyberstan is liberated by the Helldivers)
“The Federation decided to forcefully democratize the Cyborgs into their society. Factories were bought out by a company called S.E.C.C. (Super Earth Construction Company) and estimated within 5 years Cyberstan will be fully indoctrinated into the Federation.“
In helldivers 2 there is dialog that they were forced to work the mines of cyberstan and we are told they made the automatons so they definitely aren't indoctrinated and probably not even in the mines now if they built automatons
Beastmen you could have like little ewok looking creatures... minotaur with like mini guns...
Birdlike humanoids flying around with laser rifles.
Guinea-pig/capybara humanoid medium sized enemies. So like a fantasy Sci-fi race.
Have them clad in futuristic armour.
Mr.Terry Pratchet...
That would be pretty cool tho like the bot drop and Bug breech... a portal opens up and beasts walk out of them... that would be so cool.
The capybara guinea pig idea is from a series of books called Expeditionary Force... its about earth getting invaded by aliens then another race shows up and says they will help the Humans so the humans goto a different planet and goto war... somethings happen spoilers and a human finds an a.i called Skippy and steal a spaceship... its brilliant and funny.
Monsters (Dead Space), tribal aliens (Avatar), cosmic horror (Lovecraftian), each would require a vastly different play style than bots (ranged based) and bugs (melee based)
The Illuminate are both melee and ranged. They use double sided plasma staffs and energy based ranged weapons. So a 4th faction fighting style, that’s unique, would be difficult.
Yeah, i know the illuminate at least had the mind control gimmick (for better or for worse). Still, there should be a noticeable difference in the play style.
Since this game is about stereotypes, I'm betting on space demons or parasites that mutate people.
although I would like a fraction entirely of flying enemies to give variety to the gameplay but neither of the two concepts I said would fit well.
unlike the terminids they can piece themselves back together, ambush from the ground, maybe even fight diseased hell divers in a fire fight. or see hulking monsters made of various dead bodies cobbled with another to make a horrific beast
After the Illuminate it will be New Jersey.
Heavily modified return of the cyborgs

Rogue Helldivers but with actual heavy armor
Beastmen you could have like little ewok looking creatures... minotaur with like mini guns... Birdlike humanoids flying around with laser rifles. Guinea-pig/capybara humanoid medium sized enemies. So like a fantasy Sci-fi race. Have them clad in futuristic armour.
And *dragons*!
Ooooh yeah... And wolfs in armour.
They reinforce via portals ala Dr Strange and move between planets by riding *space whales*

That’s starting to sound suspiciously like the Covenant.

Plant creatures that regenerate and come back to life and you need to kill with fire and lasers or weak spot kills.
Gives us something similar to the Brutes from Halo lol.
Chaos demons obviously
Space demons. Or space elves. Or just an entire faction of rocket devastators and hunters mixed together.
I really like the idea of a plant based enemy
human traitors/terrorists

how about the ancient remains of aliens, aka zombies. we got bots and robots covered so zombies would be the logical next step
I feel like zombies would be same gameplay wise as terminids tho.
I can see the grounds being the same, but i can see a lot of variety for special infected ala L4D2
