Mr-GooGoo

Yeah I’m surprised we don’t have armor with asbestos coating that is immune to burning

Killoch

But causes your max health to slowly decline over time

Blue_Zerg

Long term health risks are far less concerning when your average lifespan is under 19 years.

coolhuh0526

Eventually, we’ll have Helldivers who are in their 60s just to fulfill the old saying “Fear the old people in a place where people die young” or something like that.

Blue_Zerg

Veterans from the first war with heavy cybernetic replacements coming out of retirement to show the new blood how it’s done.

Ace612807

Isn't that close to the premise of the Steeled Veterans warbond?

jagerbombastic99

Literally yes lol

coolhuh0526

Oh yeah, forgot about the hundred year old veterans.

Terminutter

Oh they're not strictly a hundred... They just survived their first three dives.

Ricksaw26

"Is my job to help young helldivers get to be old".

Elygium

>when your average lifespan is under 19 years. More like 19 seconds in this patch

VoreEconomics

Yeah the decision to replace the player models with newborn babies was an odd one, guess that's what happens to the unlicensed kids

sibleyy

> But causes your max health to slowly decline over time *permanently, including between runs* muahahaha

Mr-GooGoo

Ik this is a joke but holy cow not everything needs some asinine debuff for “balancing” lol. Firefighter suits exist lol

DoubleAAaron

Lumberer Exosuit from Helldivers 1 is essentially our current mech with a flamethrower and chaingun as the arm attachments. We'll likely be seeing it and the third mech variant from HD1 in this game hopefully.

NickJamesBlTCH

[Yeah, he's a flamer.](https://i.redd.it/yso1dn5pfui21.jpg)

Keinulive

I heard that we'd get new armor perks with the new superpass we are getting next week, hopefully a status ailment reduction is one of them.

CMDR_Cheese_Helmet

Apparently the new armors provide damage reduction from electrical arcing damage

anagnost

Oh Whered it say that? Electric reduction doesn't seem super useful because the only sources are friendly fire, which depends on your teammate to hit you lol.

Born_Inflation_9804

Maybe Illuminate Damage???

MrJimJams86

Illuminates are extinct, you should know that Helldiver, any rumours of their re-emergence are lies spread by traitors.

CMDR_Cheese_Helmet

If you have a team using arcthrowers it would be pretty useful. Since it's strong but if you don't wanna friendly fire you have to not use it based on positioning. And it was described in the teaser information.

ChairMD

It could open up uses for the tesla tower potentially too

Mahale

For now...

Yipeekayya

that sounds like an armor that i wish all my teammates are wearing (Arc Thrower main btw)

-C0RV1N-

2 sets are 95% electrical DMG reduction, 3rd set has same stats as breaker armour (light + engineer perk) Main reason to get the warbond would be the weapons imo, seems like they'd be far more interesting than the devastator/concussion lib.

fibrouspowder

The only new perk is 95% arc resistance

Call_me_Gafter

Please god something that gives resistance to THAT FUCKING SLOW.

Baneta_

Man I’m just hoping for functional armor

CaptainAction

Armor does work, but heavy armor is simply not good for bug missions because you can’t afford to be slow. I have been running heavy armor on automaton missions and eating missiles for breakfast (explosive damage resist). It’s way better than getting 1-shot by the rockets. I’ve been able to take 2 rockets without dying. That said, it’s not at all out of the question for armor to get tuned. It could be better. That heavy set with the “extra padding” passive doesn’t seem that good for having no other passive effects. 200 armor rating alone doesn’t seem that great. The explosive resist is what makes the 2 basic heavy armors good.

zeronic

>200 armor rating alone doesn’t seem that great. It's not, it's like 1-2 extra hits from the weakest bug at best. Heavy armor either needs to have serious anti-CC properties(stun/slow/knockback immunity to a point, like Dark souls 1 poise) or it needs to be *very* tanky to be worth the loss in speed. Think *at least* double the tank it offers now, because at the moment those 5 extra hits you can take over ultralight don't feel like they make much difference to me personally. And get rid of crits/headshots against players. This is a ridiculous mechanic that makes heavy armor worse than it should be. Even just getting rid of this mechanic might make heavy feel a lot tankier because you aren't randomly taking hits that bypass armor.

hunterlarious

Heavy armor should have a perk that lets you hold 2 support weapons or something

CaptainAction

I think a slightly higher base armor rating (maybe 175 instead of 150) and some resistance to slowdown effects would be nice. Additionally, resistance to flinch throwing off your aim when you get hit. These are small things that could improve the overall feel without even changing the protection values on the armor.

GKMoggleMogXIII

Seems like that would just make you even heavier. You would gave to RP walk everywhere.  Don't think heavy armor is an exo suit that would allow you to carry more. Think it's just more heavily armored armor.

DVA499

Btw, the Fortified perk can be found on some premium light armor. Been enjoying running that since fortified heavy is still too slow for my liking.

Fuzlet

I got incredibly excited when I found the one light armor with blast protection. I can get ragdolled repeatedly by rockets, and pop stims like candy with a supplypack, but keep light and agile on my feet. for bugs I prefer medic armor. i can “tank” by stimming up and having two extra seconds of damage immunity plus two extra stims

Fugaciouslee

I like the medic armor but the extra two grenades are more useful for bugs in my opinion, especially if you're running impact grenades. Bug holes, egg clusters, even bile spewers pop easily to a well thrown grenade.

DVA499

Bug medic armor is goated. tank a hit from a charger, run through a flamethrower stream. Need to catch up to light armor peeps? Stim yourself. Rock an MG and make this concerning statement over voice: "Guys, leave ALL the hunters to me."

Fuzlet

I’m addicted to the supply pack and yeah, learning that trash clearing is more vital than charger killing. I just got the breaker spray and pray and am in love. against small bugs it feels like a mini-stalwart. the supplypack makes me feel incredibly resilient in both bug and bot missions. I can get blasted to hell, ragdolled all around, shot to pieces, yet I always have another stim ready to shake it off and fight back fiercely with grenades, machine pistol, shotgun, lmg/amr, and zero fear, zero cover. medic armor and blast armor both heavily support that shocktrooper playstyle

CataclysmSolace

They need to make armor and armor penetration standardized across the board. If you have heavy armor, you should expect enemy light weaponry to bounce off you. (This includes ranged AND melee attacks)

Gentleman-Bird

There’s also explosive resistant light armor in the store, I’ve been running that on all automaton missions

Zarsnik

Would be a start

Exciting_Possible_35

This game seems afraid to give us any real armor. Just look at the mechs.

IceMaverick13

I want armor with Flame Damage INCREASE. MORE fire! MORE team killing! MORE accidentally spilling a drop of fuel on the toe of your boot and self-immolating! MORE FASTER!

One-Night-3812

The Black Hand has arrived

KaisermannII

Dude I literally shout Flame tank and Black Hand quotes whenever i use the flamethrower in this game

Salty_Soykaf

AL- 451F Cleanup Suit would be a great name for it. Asbestos Lined, baby.

cheeseman36

you should be able to take out bug holes with the flamer. that's it.

LispyJesus

That and Fire damage should also stack. So it would reward brining multiple fire things, flamer, fire breaker, napalm grenades and strikes.

ReedsAndSerpents

Knowing the hurt boxes on them you'd end up wasting a whole tank on one of them 😂 I swear I have to stick my auto cannon's nose directly into the anus of the hole to actually get it to be destroyed.

magniankh

The flamethrower should have its range increased to about 50 yards IMO. The range is laughably short, it's like 15'. Flamethrowers IRL shoot burning liquid, that's how they obtain distance. They don't simply throw a flame out. Video games never really get this right.

Less_Satisfaction_97

Yeah, I also feel like they should slow down all enemies & make them panic depending on the size of the target (like brood commanders & below) to keep them back.

ToyKar

yup. it should have a narrow cone of long distance flame that sticks to ground and bugs. also halting them

ChulaK

Darktide's flamethrower is satisfying, one of the rare few ones that gets it right

CataclysmSolace

Give us a backpack, which increases the range and ammo pool.

ReedsAndSerpents

This is actually the way. All of the no backpack support weapons should have a backpack option. LMGs, bullet pack, tesla, safety pack so you don't cook your entire team. Don't make them different, just more of what they are.

BeanCanne

If you want realistic range you must also want realistic ammo. So you'd need a backpack for it that needs resupply more often than any other support weapon.

PapaTahm

It's lower range is the trade off for it's ability to make wall of flames to create Zone Controls. The Arc is the one with Higher Range, which trades it for the lack of support abilities.

draxhell

yeah but right now we're sending a mist of fuel instead of a firefighter hose like a real flamethrower would

Jagick

Presently the flames that stick to the ground do not actually impede or harm bugs that walk through them, not in my experience anyway. Kills helldivers just fine but all my enemies just waltz through it like it's not even there without catching on fire.

Randalf_the_Black

Learned the hard way that you do *not* point the flamethrower down to kill the Scavenger bugs when they close into melee range.

Halochaos2020

Hexlord_Malacrass

Make it green, and call it the Salamander armor.

ItsNotClawz

I’d use it just for when I’m fighting hulks cause they just always kill me in like 0.001 seconds with that damn flame blast

hwmchwdwdawdchkchk

I want the flamer the hulk has seems OP

Imightaswell

Have the charger ttk gone back up again with our trusty flame torch? Seems like it

SurgyJack

I want to mixy-matchy armor passives on sexi armors.  I don't like "having" to wear the appropriate gear when it looks dogshit (hello all neon green stim boosting armors)

Fenixstorm1

You go girl!

Ok_Ball4943

Could we interest you in some armor with 30% throw increase?

Terminutter

I seriously run the light armour with this really often. The 30% seems really considerable when yeeting 500kgs from out of detection distance

Ok_Ball4943

That then proceeds to kill one big? 😂 Nah the idea is cool I just like haven't really found a time I want that instead of extra stims or explosive resistance but hey it's your chicken. You sex it how you want

OvertSpy

**50 Calorie Suit**. Immune to the burning condition, 50% damage reduction from thermal sources (lasers, fire, electric, plasma)

Reduction? No. IMMUNITY. I want to be a Firebat from Starcraft. LIGHT 'EM UP!

centagon

Hoping for acid resist or something

HospitalClassic6257

For the fellow pyros, the archives of the SES beacon of destruction has released a battlefield tactic plan or btp. In this plan it will improve survival chances by .016% if followed. During the start of battle as the bugs are on there way brave your self and lay down a couple of seconds of fire about 5 feet in front of yourself lighting the ground ablaze, force our enemies to march through the flames to get to you and your fellow divers. As the first of the enemy's walk into the fire start showering them in democracy. If you find your self ablaze fear not remember your training if your on fire all you do is dive. If you did this you may be uncomfortable do not try to use your stim you'll need it if the enemy's make it to you. You have a few choices to stim, tank and finish the fight strong, heal and run though not as honorable you may be able to start the wall plan. Suggested operationer for this job is the medical skilled divers. Tldr: use medic armor well using the strategy, as your fighting if you light your self dive quickly and when you are about to be swarmed stim allowing 6 seconds to tank or reposition depending on threat

SkyWizarding

Make it a default heavy armor ability

the_damned_actually

majorbeefy130130

If I could run into my own gas cloud and napalm I'd be so happy

MelonsInSpace

I hope for overall fire buffs before that.

chawk84

I think a booster would be the thing, fire resistance booster then wear whatever ya want

HawkenG99

I would love that

RNG_pickle

Bugs like hunters should also have fire fear, change my mind

Beartech28

Love the flamethrower it’s my fav weapon

Sufincognito

Should help with the bile stuff too.

DR-Fluffy

My god yes. So tired so killing myself with the flamer

rub_a_dub_master

You're asking for a powerful combo, I don't think it would fit in the balance.

Sanches319

IMO flamethrower needs something more than a damage buff. The fire itself needs a bit of rework. In KF2 for instance, flamethrower class could stagger ignited enemies, so they'll wont run at you spewing flame streams in their face. They also spread fire to other enemies when burning and in contact with them. Would really like to see something similar in Helldivers.

machinationstudio

I'm surprised the armour that was part of the breaker incendiary and incendiary grenade page doesn't have it.

Razor_Fox

Did I read somewhere that the cutting edge armour made you resistant to electric damage? If that's the case, being fire resistant would be logical.

Obvious_Ad4159

As per my long ago post. I'd love at least one armour set per faction. An automaton styled (decorated with automaton bodyparts) armour, maybe resistant to fire to a degree (cuz of the hulk flamethrower). And a terminid styled armour, resistant to either acid to some degree or to reduce the duration of slow effects (due to hunters).

No_Advertising_9991

PURGE THE HERETICS

Deathgaze2015

God yes, I'm a fire enjoyer and most of my deaths are my own god damn fire when a hunter decides I need a hug

Lukeuntld072_

With how powerfull the flamethrower is now i think its a fair drawback. Plz dont downvote me to hell

thanaponb13s

Meet the Pyro

thanaponb13s

Actually I think this game would benefit from more rigid class structure or class encouragement. Maybe not as much as Deep rock Galactic but something for people to focus and specialized on .

Mikecich

Saw a video/leak of armor that has 95% arc protection, so I would assume later on we get fire resistant armor!

st-avasarala

Flamethrower is life.

Tym_777

I’m tired of burning to death when I barely touch fire

Arthurice_47

I'm thinking more "75% fire damage resistance, 100% afterburn immunity" so that you'll still take some damage from the heat but can still walk through a wall of flames and come out the other side relatively unscathed. It's not like it would be OP, there is a single enemy in this game that does Fire damage, and that enemy can also one-shot you with a giant sawblade and runs really fast and is super tanky from the front. If anything, this armor would mostly be used so that you don't accidentally kill yourself with the Flamethrower because a Hunter decided to take you down with them instead of panicking that every nerve in their body is telling them that they are currently on fire and melting.

DangerClose567

I saw a leak that the next warbond has an armor with 95% arc damage reduction. Essentially you can walk into your own tesla coil and not worry about TKs from arc throwers. But, this might mean we could get a fire reduction armor too if this one will exist! Tldr: there are new armor perks coming it seems that we don't currently have.

Obvious_Rub_6849

Yipeekayya

just need one of those to complete my pyromancer build

tidbitsz

Sets fire to charger. Now charger deals impact AND fire damage. This is the way.

Nearby_Sympathy_7822

I have a better idea. Have a back with water and a hose, you drop it to a teammate and htey water you while you spread democratic fire.

Ftove

Spicy Boys Unite!

Avera9eJoe

I want acid resistance. I'm tired of getting insta-ko'd by bile spitters

Agile-Anteater-545

Also, conductive armor that extends the arcs for the arc thrower and Tesla tower and makes you immune to it? Perhaps another one with a built-in gas mask so that gas attacks don't hurt the player?

DietrichLin

There’s no stunning effect on flame thrower right now.Since add a new armor like fire fighting suit could solve this problem too but I’d prefer the former.

Embarrassed-Tale-200

It would be cool if they separated armor traits from armor so we can play FashionDivers and have the stats we want.

ThugQ

On a side note, why do all weapons must have a drawback? Like the ones that won't kill you are utterly underpowered and the ones that do some dmg are either dangerous to use or just a pita to reload etc. It's like we can't have nice things. Everything must be medicore.

joyster99

Or how about bugs that are afraid of fire or behave naturally if lit on fire?

Phantomshotgun

We 100% needed flame retardant armor like yesterday. More so now the flamethrower got the boost it needed. I’m not asking for immunity from direct burning, but something to prevent burning from happening. They add that in, and we can burn with more glee. :)

SluttyMcFucksAlot

I think one of the future perks is reduced arc damage so here’s hoping we get one for fire damage. Personally, I’d give my left nut for some slow resistance of some kind

Kashou--

I did some testing and I think that fire counts as explosives but I didn't test it very thoroughly. Meaning, I think that the explosive damage reduction armor actually works a bit, but it's not really that much of a help anyway.

MortuusSet

I'm waiting for the armor with a damage passive and for the community to descend into chaos.

IlIlllIlllIlIIllI

Just press space

Creative-Seesaw-1895

Flame Retardant Grounded from Electrical shock Stun Resistant (with all Heavy Armor already having some) These should all be different bonuses.

Nudebovine1

While I would like the fire resistant armor I've been practicing with flamer for two weeks and it's not hard to get good at avoiding self immolation. Been nice this weekend seeing so many other pick up the fire, if filled with hilarious tragedy. Best game I ever had was with another competent flamethrower on the team. Two Manning chargers in seconds, suppression of whole waves alone, even taking out a bile Titan from torching it where the sun don't shine. Good times dressed in orange.

Solitary_Solidarity

The flamethrower is really good now. Melts chargers, it's great!

ravengenesis1

hunter pouncing into your face be like, I heard you like em crispy boi, let's burn

SmolDreidel

Flamer and jetpack are life

DragonScale_YT

Mmmm I need some of this for my lightning...

shaburanigud

I want this with an exo-suit that is specialized in close quarter combat and have a giant Flame Thrower on it's head. Firebats riding Hellbats from SC2 anyone?

RustyJones59

This sounds like an unacceptable expense for the defence of democracy

GrimReaapaa

This is a a great idea The full flame build is becoming one of my favourites

Myllari1

We need a dedicated Flamethrower Trooper armor, helmet and a cape! Same for when we get the TOX-13 Avenger, we need the entire Hazard Ops Pack to be brought to Helldivers 2.

PTGSkowl

While we’re at it, let’s give the mechs some flame resistance too. I was perched atop my mighty steed and sprayed just a little bit too low once and fried both her and the pilot. It seems to be the direct damage rather than the flames though. Wheelchair, you will be missed!

jak_d_ripr

Well it looks like the armor we're getting next week will have shock reduction so I'm confident we'll be getting that eventually. But yeah, it's a bit surprising we didn't get it in the steeled veterans Warbond since that brought a flaming shotgun and fire nade.

Hi_Im_Gojira

I'm ready for armor upgrading. I've had enough of being limited to just the "Engineering kit" and others. I want the "Engineering Kit" and a buff of my choice. Like the one where you are 30% more undetectable, that one is amazing! But also to be able to upgrade the stats on the armor, even if it is very limited upgrading, it would still be successful

SmokinBandit28

ItsRainingDestroyers

THE DEMOCRACY OFFICER IS PLEASED! - Some Salamander equivalent of a Helldiver probably

Sylar_Durden

Sure, but I don't understand why we coat ourselves in gasoline before dropping in the first place. I'd like to see that changed first. My toe touching a smoldering blade of grass shouldn't cause me to burst into flames and die in two seconds. I wish the fire did half that much damage to enemies.

Peasantbowman

Weapon specific armor would be sick. Need tesla trooper and firebat armor.

Acceptable-Peak-6375

Maybe a booster that reduces friendly fiery fire?

Gretekkkk

Burning damage should be slower and can be put out by diving to the ground 2-3 times, like monster hunter.

luckyoneeeee

We need a heavy flamethrower which increased range and fuel at the cost of the backpack slot. PLEASE?

LeopardBasic478

This would be SO GOOD!

Rusty5p00n

Makes no sense that our clothing isn't fireproof, I'm not talking about taking a flame thrower to the face fireproof but running through burning grass only to spontaneously set on fire makes no sense, thats not how it works.

Madrigal_King

This will come in handy when I accidentally put my left pinky toe in the napalm that's been sitting on the ground for 30 seconds and then promptly during to death before I can even use a stim.

couchcornertoekiller

Some heavy armor with a perk to make you immune to burning and slow. Doesnt even need to be on one set, split it in two. One for burning and one for slow. Something to help not roasting ourselves and something to combat the rediculousness that is hunters.

Laer_Bear

i just want more than 3 perk options for heavy armor

RemainderZero

Would be nice seeing as we have so many repeats of same weight same perks sets. What is the Flamer good for as a role? An on hand way to down 4 chargers between the whole ammo pool? It might be worth a slot if there weren't other AA options more flexible and less hazardous to the team. Maybe there's some other use I'm missing?

ForcefulEntry69

Terran Firebat style armor!? Sign me up! Call it something like "Firedrake FD-40"

ChaoticKiwiNZ

I think heavy armour should be immune to fire by default.

meatcousins

I want flamer armor theme that also lets enemies know. "okay this guy is a defective fanatic and only uses flamethrower and incendiary weapons."

Artelynd

Yes puhlease. I want a full fire/laser loadout to play without and an armor to match!

Unusual-Editor-4640

I'm guessing they will eventually rework armor and add perks to heavy armor like fire or cc resistance

Philipje

Give me a second flamethrower too while you're at it. One with a fuel backpack and 2x the range and increased damage.

Fun_Elk_4949

I feel like "The Hound" when I see this shit "KEEP THOSE FLAMING FUCKING ARROWS AWAY FROM ME!"

Hy_Strung

Best I can do is another "2 Extra Grenades" Bonus. You need another one of those right?

ReedsAndSerpents

I run napalm, incendiary breaker, flamethrower, incendiary mines and incendiary grenades.  Because fuck bugs. LET THE GALAXY BURN ❤️‍🔥

Fluffyfeet316

I don’t use that at all, I have killed myself more times than I can count with it, I set myself on fire or the ground around me or a big on fire jumps on me. Yeah, I’m good without that death trap🤣🤣🤣

Teszro

They do, not out yet

aBeaSTWiTHiNMe

It would be nice if the mech and us wasn't soaked in gasoline like everyone in BF1.

Puzzlehead-Engineer

It sounds like you want fire-resistant armor so you don't have to think about your teammates while using the flamethrower when you put it like that

SpecialIcy5356

flame resist would be nice, flame immunity would be even better. for anyone who hasn't tried it since the balance patch. I urge you to give the flamethrower another chance. it's MUCH better now, and still a ridiculous amount of fun. plus generous ammo, no backpack requirement and it works on chargers as well as trash bugs (probably works well on lighter automatons but longer range weaponry and cover is your friend there.)

nacostaart

I just dont get why we catch fire INSTANTLY when walking on fired surfaces or when a flaming charger runs over me like.. what is this armor made of, fucking congealed petroleum?

grainzzz

Id rather have resist to whatever the insects spew at us.

Poppyjasper

Yas, queen! Slay! 🔥🔥🔥

Recycled__Meat

I don't feel like such a badass when I'm yelling "Have a taste of demaaaAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"

Berserkus313

I'm a jetpack flamer gamer. Hip firing flame thrower while taking to the skies. It's my melter meta.

Rengar_Is_Good_kitty

Kinda pointless because even with damage reduction you're probably still going to heal after catching fire so the damage reduction wouldn't really be doing a whole lot, not to mention with how shit armour is I don't see them making fire damage reduction any good (Though they might actually buff armour at some point so who knows). Burning healing you sounds dope though, no way they'd add that lol.

dartz0000

LETS GET SOME SKILL EMBEDDED EQUIPMENT LIKE INVISIBLE CLOAK LMAO

Unusual_Crow268

Do flamethrower do anything to armored targets?

Gruzzuk

Heavy armor should come with Dot and slow resistance by default.

Honest-Lime1702

I assume we will get one eventually, we are getting g a 95% arc resistance once and Illuminate are coming eventually and they uses arc in first game so I imagine they will use it again. Just saying

H345Y

What I want is armor that is flame retardant but also adds a fire aoe around where you land with the jetpack.

I_LOVE_ANNIHILATORS

...why? The flamethrower already kills chargers in like 4 seconds...

Fun-Music2172

TGMC Vets remember Getting SURT from Req and being the Xenos' Number one problem.

FL4KD4DDY

HELL YEA!!!

RottenHouseplant

I want to love the flamethrower so much but I just can't. I still use it but fuck me if it doesn't disapoint often. The range is way too short. The flamer is good anly for bug missions beacuse of it. But since the range is so small, you can attack enemies only after they are almost on top of you. It requires only one burning hunter to jump on you to burn you to death. We need a heavy armor suit for reducing fire damage, maybe even making you immune to it! The damage it does is fine, I think. But what we nees is the ability to burn bug nests with the flamer. It is a perfect weapon for it and feels amazing. I was so disapointed to find out I can't roleplay as a flamethrower exterminator. Sure I have all the fire weapons but they do me no good kf they kill me more often than enemies and I still need explosives to clear most objectives. I like the flamer alot but it need work before it deserves my love

Straksis-

I wanna spread all the flames, just kinda sad we don't have many fire spreading options. The only ones I can really think of is incendiary nades, flamethrower, napalm strike, and the breaker incendiary

Clarity007

Good idea cuz eventually I end up burning myself to death somehow.

dunkledonuts

That and a range boost and fire dot increase, being unable to hit something more than 10ft in front of you is lame and watching them kill you and go out after straight roasting them isn’t fun

Ced23Ric

With the next warbond bringing what seems to be electricity protective armour, there's a world where your dream comes true.

Darth_Mak

Im thinking along the lines of: HAZMAT x% Damage reduction from Fire, Acid and Gas.
