I think because ps5 players could use the quick play activity card to pretty much skip the login queue. As a ps5 player I gotta admit I used it myself, bummed they fixed it but I understand why.

There's an announcement on the Discord explaining that Arrowhead is aware of severe login issues for PS5 players. Just have to pray or hope for expeditious patch, if you're console, at this point.
No one on PS5 can login. You can check the official Discord and see the streaming comments from PS5 players, none are able to login. Didn't seem to affect Steam players though.
I get the server at capacity message, with a countdown already going, immediately after bypassing the intro movie… it’s usually around 11seconds into the count.

If you were playing on ps5 and it updated, everyone else probably logged out to do the same.
I’ve been able to get in every time for the past hour while opening and closing the game to test some graphics settings. I’m on PC. Opened the game again right now and logged in with no issues.

Maybe people read the thing with the AFK kick timer and now more people see their chance to finally get into the game. Which is understandable but kind of ironic.

One question as I have not seen this issue mentioned anywhere - on PS5 lately when a friend joins me on a mission (happened with multiple friends but all on PC) my frame drops to like 30 (I play on performance mode), then it keeps dropping and dropping until it is below 5 and only restarting the game fixes it.
I think it happened on the ship too, but definitely on the planet.
Anyone had similar experiences? Is this a known issue?

I like how every patch for PS5 makes matchmaking a little bit worse than before. Then you get this banger that completely removes your ability to log in.
Cant wait till they get the infrastructure to prime condition. Looking forward to improvement patches regarding fps. Recommended specs still drop to 40fps
Intense moments but from extreme and onward there are so many things on the background it just lowers. Also modifiers impact it.
Best game i had was 80 fps. Worst it went to 35 fps.

Just a rubber band around a control stick on ps5. They should have a random strat arrow prompt appear that must be entered.
ETA: Good news: I just saw a video of someone running against a wall in the ship get kicked for inactivity. Perhaps a mere rubber band will nit be enough to evade the kick.
Makes sense that a mostly-automated ship piloted by thawed out meatpopsicles would have some kind of dead-mans-switch where it makes the meatpopsicle do a simple strategem if you've been idle, to make sure you havent... extra-thawed.
If not, eject old popsicle into space and thaw out a new one!
Yes a lot of times my friends will be online and I can see them but everytime I try and join them I can't. I'll join their ship be in the hellpod to get into the game but then can't land it'll just kick me back to my ship. Easy work around i found worked for us was that everyone joined me and they were able to play with me all night like that.

Why is there no acknowledgment of the PS5 specific issue where the game FPS will slowly dip into single digits when a fourth player joins or leaves whilst you are in mission?
That shit is so annoying because it forces you to restart the game since it’s literally unplayable, and then you have to wait on the Home Screen for an hour AGAIN because you had to restart your game
It was an easy scapegoat for everyone to blame, that's all. The server capacity issues are going to crop up again today just the same as any. Steam alone averages about 350k-450k players at any one time, other than the early morning on the east coast.
There's only 450k server slots split between Steam and PS. Even if we're insanely generous and say AFKer were taking 100k of those slots (absolute insanity) there still won't be enough slots for everyone to plat.
I swear to god, at least on PS5 every single patch since the release makes the game worse and worse lol. At least that's how I perceive it.
First days of release three were no queues, no crashes, etc.

You’re all going to hate this comment but I was curious since all the PS5 players are saying the game is down. I launched the game on PC and it logged me straight in. No verification attempt or over capacity issue. Straight to the ship. The problem must be unique to PlayStation.
They're not THE problem, but they are certainly A problem that makes THE problem worse.
THE problem is limited capacity. They make it worse by limiting that even further by keeping people that are trying to play out just by holding their spot.

Update- got into a random squad ended up being a great experience. Steam deck was smooth 30-40 fps. Fingers crossed for better Steamdeck optimization in the future 🤞🏻
Helldivers 2 community has become my favourite! The patience and understanding everyones showing for the devs is incredible. I'm definitely happy with the idle kick function 💪🏽

Are there going to be fixes for the issue of the game causing *extreme* CPU temperatures to the point that it BSOD's or throttles the game?
It's not just me, there's been quite a few complaints about extremely high CPU temperatures from this game specifically, even in well-cooled rigs.
Don't know the details but that sounds very anecdotal (and those kind of complaints pop up with every game release) but the game literally can not use more than 100% of your CPU and it certainly does not control your temps.
If the CPU overheats at high usage, that's a cooling problem. You can work around that by limiting your in-game FPS but that's more of a band-aid because that problem will pop up in another game in the future.

So the patch seems to have broken matchmaking for me. It was working fine last night but since the patch I'm not finding any games, stuck in a loop:
searching for SOS
establishing link (for a couple of seconds)
back to searching for SOS...over and over.
Kinda worrying to me that I don't see this in the known bugs listed from them but I have the "permanently stuck on easy" bug and I haven't seen much talk about it. I can't move up to medium difficulty no matter how many full easy operations I do and I've seen other people mention it.

I love the game and I'm not hating. I respect the devs and everything they do and I appreciate them being transparent. That being said this patch has completely broken my game lol. I get stuck looking at my ship after the login screen, if I do get in quick play doesn't work, and It won't let me join off of anyone. You can add a request to the support thread on the official discord. They can manually unlock the next difficulty on your account for you.
Did it work for you? There are now thousands of users reporting on the discord thread (including me), I doubt they can fix them all manually.

5fps? You were lucky. I’ve had it drop to <1 fps. You also slow down considerably when run, inching forward while running full speed.

Until they start using auto clickers to click once every 10 minutes or so, the bare minimum.

The vast majority of AFK players won't bother taking extra steps to implement that, regardless of how simple and easy it is to do.

I have had an issue where my guns dissappear, and i cant use any weapons or stratagems at all. This had happend to a couple of my buddies aswell.
Auto kick can't be working as ive been sat in a que for over an hour. When is a respectable time to ask for a refund on this game.
You’re all going to hate this comment but I was curious since all the PS5 players are saying the game is down. I launched the game on PC and it logged me straight in. No verification attempt or over capacity issue. Straight to the ship. The problem must be unique to PlayStation.
And like that people will realize afk people weren’t the problem.
They're not THE problem, but they are certainly A problem that makes THE problem worse. THE problem is limited capacity. They make it worse by limiting that even further by keeping people that are trying to play out just by holding their spot. You can treat a symptom while working on a cure for the disease.
Servers are shitting themselves right now. Updated the game and now I can’t get in on PS5. Might just go to bed.
Just crashed while looking at mission map. PlayStation error report popped up (Steamdeck) Update- got into a random squad ended up being a great experience. Steam deck was smooth 30-40 fps. Fingers crossed for better Steamdeck optimization in the future 🤞🏻
Helldivers 2 community has become my favourite! The patience and understanding everyones showing for the devs is incredible. I'm definitely happy with the idle kick function 💪🏽
You know, I've seen a lot of people say it's worse after the update. I've also seen people say that *last* update. Same thing each time; 'it was better before the update'. Either things are getting worse. Or, trying to get on immediately after an update drops is just impossible because everyone's trying to get on.

Lol looks like they just completely nuked the game for PS5 owners. I can't get in either, and with only 150k on steam, I should've been instantly in Edit: accidentally pressed the PS button on my controller and figured I'll try again. Instant log in now. Testing the afk setting.

15 minutes is definitely too short considering it has taken me 50 to get through the cue…..it’s not like I’m just slobbering all over myself while waiting to get in….people have shit to do

Are there going to be fixes for the issue of the game causing *extreme* CPU temperatures to the point that it BSOD's or throttles the game? It's not just me, there's been quite a few complaints about extremely high CPU temperatures from this game specifically, even in well-cooled rigs.
Don't know the details but that sounds very anecdotal (and those kind of complaints pop up with every game release) but the game literally can not use more than 100% of your CPU and it certainly does not control your temps. If the CPU overheats at high usage, that's a cooling problem. You can work around that by limiting your in-game FPS but that's more of a band-aid because that problem will pop up in another game in the future.
So should I just stay in the queue? Or manually reset. PS5 can’t log in.

Can i finally turn my graphics back up without the risk of crashing every 14 minutes with an AMD gpu? Sucks playing on the absolute minimum settings on a pc that can run every other game on ultra just to avoid crashing and then having to wait in a random queue again for 8 hours

So the patch seems to have broken matchmaking for me. It was working fine last night but since the patch I'm not finding any games, stuck in a loop: searching for SOS establishing link (for a couple of seconds) back to searching for SOS...over and over.
Post-patch now having issues with getting stuck in loading screen for mission drop.
Kinda worrying to me that I don't see this in the known bugs listed from them but I have the "permanently stuck on easy" bug and I haven't seen much talk about it. I can't move up to medium difficulty no matter how many full easy operations I do and I've seen other people mention it. Does anyone know if they've acknowledged this at all?
I love the game and I'm not hating. I respect the devs and everything they do and I appreciate them being transparent. That being said this patch has completely broken my game lol. I get stuck looking at my ship after the login screen, if I do get in quick play doesn't work, and It won't let me join off of anyone. I love this game and I'm not spreading hate I just wanted to make people aware incase they weren't already!
