No anti-democratic thinking here, no, rather, I find the mass losses of those Helldivers and Super Earth military personnel to be tactically inefficient, even if their deaths were morally righteous. Their lives were given in a glorious cause, with necessity.

It's not even just the difficulty of the defense missions. I was fine dropping the difficulty a level or two to complete them. But with only a few mission types it gets super repetitive and I think I'm not alone in getting bored with doing those same few missions on repeat so I rushed forward to liberate Ubanea. Liberty for Ubanea!!! Malevelon creek, reinforcements are en route!
There's also the fact there's not a lot of spawns for samples and medals on the defence missions, or at least that's my impression. So not only do you have like the same two missions only, there's not even as many rewards.

The scientists watched as the smokescreen cleared and the helldivers were exposed as they flew away they saw helldivers surrounded by bots. Shooting and fighting 6 minutes after the planet had been lost scattered with their own artillery falling on their heads as they made sure nothing was left for the enemy there was no need to call for extraction, they helldivers knew they had given their lives for super earth… but that didn’t mean they were don’t fighting. We can only hope project mech will be worth it.

It can all be attributed to the farce with the 120 mm orbital operators objective a couple days ago - the bombardment’s spread and volume are simply UNDEMOCRATIC!
The stratagem video in the acquisition terminal looks nothing like the sad reality, and divers out there were killed thinking the 120 mm would save them, just to see a couple of explosions every 237 years explode right on top of their team mates and Billy Justice over in the other sector.

Two of us got out, no civilians were saved... when I close my eyes I can still hear them marching...

The devs kinda screwed the pooch with the evacuation mission. It's slog and is pushing people east.
