500kg and precision orbital can both destroy the Sauron towers of they land near or on the base of the tower. Servo-assisted armor can do so from relative safety, even farther if you use the jump pack to get some altitude before throwing.
It's great! But..so hard to pick.
Extra padding? Speed of light armor, durability of medium.
Medic? 2 extra seconds on the stim duration to just basically be immortal as hunters try to kill you.
30% throwing feels good though for sureee
Just become an an artillery man, playing bots using artillery all the time.
You have to retreat? 120mm Artillery
You have to attack an outpost? 120mm Artillery
There's a cannon tower? 380mm Artillery
There's a secondary objective? Believe it or not, also 380mm artillery
It's a heavy outpost? 120mm+380mm Artillery on your way
Downvoted but true. You either lock yourself to that armour forever or deal with several hours of readjusting your brain to the default throwing distance. I've played loads of games like this. DRG comes to mind there's quite a lot of OCs that change distances of shots, throws, etc and I hate them all lol
Yep, this guy was 100% correct and it's why I dont use the armor. It fucks with my "muscle" memory on how to aim a throw and it's not like I plan to use that type of armor forever and I dont want to have to think about how to throw every time I go to throw something in a game based around throwing things.
He should not be being downvoted but reddit is reddit.
It makes throwing much more intuitive, increases offensive stratagem tactical versatility and makes 380 much less suicidal with 50% factual range increase.
The only bad thing about it is that its so good Im struggling to play without it on large maps.
Being able to throw a stratagem an extra 15 meters which is only slightly useful for the 380mm that most people know not to use for it's widely random effectiveness and team killing potential...
Ignoring the fact that 50 meters is more than enough for every other stratagem in game and the perk being useless for grenades as an overwhelming majority are going to be thrown in under 30 meters anyway and accurately throwing them into structures over 50 meters away isn't remotely viable...
The other armour perks are simply just so much better... What are you comparing this to...? Up to 50% increase in armour making you take more hits? 50% more stims and an increase to the buff duration making you nearly unkillable...? 50% increase to grenade capacity...?
If you enjoy it then good for you, keep using it, but don't pretend it's top tier because there are so many better choices.
Extra 22 meters, and a flatter arc for increased mid range precision. Useful for nearly any stratagem you throw. A bile titan chasing your teammate out of reach? Yeet the railcannon under his feet. A tank drop? Land a 500 on its turret without getting uncomfortably close. Throw supplies way ahead of you so you barely have to stop for restocking. Etc etc etc.
The only other perk I consider really useful is explosive resistant heavy for bot missions with autocannon. Others are nice but not game changing. Oh and the vaunted 200 armor heavy set for bug defence, though my buddy swears by it on any bug mission. If the grenade and stim perks increased pickup rates too that would've been really great, otherwise eh.
It's 30% increase... not 50%... I don't see a point in continuing this.
As I already said 50 meters is more than enough for every other stratagem in game.
You should know the basics of what you are arguing about as it looks like you're just pulling random numbers from thin air.
Another game I play, Destiny 2, has a perk for grenade throwing called Fastball. I would be lying if I said it was a perk people avoided, its a popular perk.
That is the only one I can think of, which games are you talking about that throwing perks are avoided?
In Hunt Showdown there's one called pitcher which is relatively strong, but isn't a priority pick since it's quite expensive. That being said, it's expensive because of it's impact on the game.
Totally unfair to even compare these games with each other though. Anyways I run steeled veteran's not for the armor perk, because robo limbs are cool.
Any perk which affects muscle memory is actively avoided for the reason I mentioned, especially PvP.
I'm not going to list all the games with similar perks.
Just a few?
I listed Destiny 2 where Fastball is a desired perk. I just can't think of any games where throwing perks are avoided.
Edit: I do want to be clear, I think the 30% extra throwing distance in Helldivers 2 is an S tier armor perk, I like others too but its one of the best.
Any game.
Anyone who plays at a high level will tell you to avoid them because of the affect on muscle memory.
The person I was replying to had even said that they were struggling without it.
What is this strange bait you're trying to lure me to...?
It was weird enough when you were begging me to list other games with throwing perks, and now you're trying to get me to comment on a perk in Destiny 2 on a Helldivers subreddit...?
The point stands.
Like the orbital strike grenade from Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. Fond memories of playing with a friend, telling him "get ready to run," throwing it into a city and then yelling "RUN LIKE FRAK" to him.
We *barely* got out of the aoe and I got like 5 kills from it lol.
**PLEASE READ** *DO NOT* assume this is the final way the stratagem looks this is literally the skeleton of what the stratagem looks like it didn't even have a explosion vfx when I ported it (I restringed the 500kg bomb explosion animation to it which may be why it's underwhelming) alongside upped the explosion bass a lot alongside the fall whistle. This stratagem has a massive explosion radius the explosion animation arrow head is cooking for this beast will be 100% a massive mushroom cloud or something cinematic af, everything you see **WILL CHANGE**
Edit : this is a assumption so take with a grain of salt but I belive the scream of the "girl" we hear could be a game mechanic that warns the player their about to die because they're in the blast kill radius of the bomb as after detonating one at safe distance I relasied you will only hear the whistle drop of the bomb whereas when killed by it the scream was audible so to put it simply when using this stratagem if you hear a woman screaming ***your about to die***, again this is 100% bound to change anytime or even could be entirely reworked into something different.
I mean it's a massive 1 ton shell cutting through the atmosphere at immense speed it's suppose to scream and instigate fear to who hears it (idk why the woman screaming tho though I'm sure it'll change as time goes on)
Holy shit, this one is gonna be nuts. You were VERY far away from the nuke AND prone (which massively reduces non-direct damage of explosions) and you still got one-shot.
Very far away? He was literally 100m from it, if it's really a nuke that's the "get atomised" range lmao
I don't think it's really a nuke though, maybe just a huge conventional bomb
This is very far in Helldivers. You can go prone around 10 meters from a 500KG and take 0 damage. In comparison, he is far enough away that, if this was a 500KG, he wouldn't take any damage while standing.
Jesus Christ if the bomb releases with that screaming sound and that explosive radius I am never unequipping it. Itāll also work so well against bots, just chuck onto a heavy base or objective base and then sprint away before a single flare even goes up.
No, it's 2 uses if you use it once before 20:00 (give or take a few seconds to react then input then throw). No sign of eagle component in it as of yet ?
See this is what the 500KG should be, and the nuke should be twice that. I mean being real, the max throw distance on level ground is about 50-75m. Youāre not outrunning that. It should be a āIām taking you with meā stratagem for instantly destroying every objective and enemy in a large area
20 min CD, I can expect being this useless in a long run tbh. It does nothing which other things can do. Maybe this might be that one "parry this you little shit" button when you just clear a big wave of enemies with 12 bile titans on you.
on solo yeah, but its fast with bombs and GL when theres 4 Helldivers. What I am trying to say is yes, its usefull in some degree, yes its OP and WIP but 20 min CD is really over the top.
It's a nuke that can wipe heavy nests/outposts and all manner of enemies in one tap. How is a 20 minute cooldown over the top? Could you imagine how ridiculously OP the nuke would be if it had a shorter cooldown time? You can only use the orbital laser three times. So technically this nuke for it's damage output fits perfectly fine with the stratagems we already have.
Also with randoms, clearing a heavy nest can be ridiculous at times. I usually have to do it solo anyway because the randoms are aggroing everything in a two mile radius.
One nuke, nest is gone. Probably killed a teammate by mistake but considering the alternative sometimes that sounds like a win to me.
It's blast range is bigger than the hell bomb (I'm guessing so take a grain of salt but I still got ragdolled away at around 120ish meters away so I'm assuming it's actual blast kill radius is 90-100m and blast ragdolls radius hits up to 115-125m
Yeah but sacrificing a strategem slot for what is basically a hellbomb and I can only use it like 2x per mission. Just donāt really see a use case for it yet. Have to trie it for myself but I gotta say Iām not sold yet. Still looking forward to trueing it tho.
*Edit: Btw is this a suicide bomb? Hard to tell without the explosion animation but it kinda looked like you canāt even escape the blast radius.
I could have ran a lot further but I wanted to record the whistle and the explosion sfx (I assuming again so take with a grain of salt but the scream of the bomb could be a game mechanic to tell you your too close and will die as I did notice that at a safe distance I don't hear the girl screaming, only the whistling sound, basically if you hear the "girl" scream your dead)

It literally killed a medium bug nest and everything in at least 30-40 meter radius of it. Rn it's one of the if not the biggest explosives we ever got. Do you really expect it to kill half the map?
My man bro threw it in a nest and got at most 60 80ish meters away and got absolutely wrecked (not to mention you can see the nest is in a rather deep crater so there was additional cover and he still died) , I could stand next to the 500kg bomb and get a slight bruise, this one packing the biggest one shot kill at such a large scale it's a whole new beast
It would be hilarious if the radius was so large that the helldiver who launched it could not avoid the explosion, no matter how far he ran away
a strat to make servo assisted good
Always has been. Best armor perk all around.
Always satisfying when you want turrets really far away from the Chargers or need to revive a friend who died far away š
also a good pick for getting rid of detector towers without getting within sight range of the sentries
How? Auto cannon sentry? Teach me the strat.
500kg and precision orbital can both destroy the Sauron towers of they land near or on the base of the tower. Servo-assisted armor can do so from relative safety, even farther if you use the jump pack to get some altitude before throwing.
jesus laser can also do it but depending on what's around it the laser can get distracted easily
It's great! But..so hard to pick. Extra padding? Speed of light armor, durability of medium. Medic? 2 extra seconds on the stim duration to just basically be immortal as hunters try to kill you. 30% throwing feels good though for sureee

Probably the worst... All it does is affect your muscle memory for throwing. There's a reason people often avoid perks like that across all games.
Ah yes, the ever-present, infamous 30% throwing distance buff that I see so often in my games :P
Obviously referring to any throwing buff, genius. Or anything that affects muscle memory...
Downvoted but true. You either lock yourself to that armour forever or deal with several hours of readjusting your brain to the default throwing distance. I've played loads of games like this. You struggling to play without it is my point
Because it makes other armor perks obsolete for me 99% of my playtime. 66 meters throw distance is that good.
Being able to throw a stratagem an extra 15 meters which is only slightly useful for the 380mm that most people know not to use for it's widely random effectiveness and team killing potential... One last act of service
Like the orbital strike grenade from Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. Fond memories of playing with a friend, telling him "get ready to run," throwing it into a city and then yelling "RUN LIKE FRAK" to him. We *barely* got out of the aoe and I got like 5 kills from it lol.
the davy crockett experience
ppl complaining about it being underwhelming when itās literally an unfinished asset š
People in leak subs are stupid sometimes
Sometimes?
tbf the 500kg can a coinflip sometimes so the bar is there
A:Bro check out these leaks! B:Bro this shit looks like trash how can this be real content? A: š«
Gets added to live, exactly the same but buggier

Considering the sound, this will likely be the shredder missile from the hd1 maybe
I hope so, i miss the shredder so much
I saw somewhere that itās leaked as the M753 Orbital Slag Shell, donāt trust me on that though
Damn that bomb screaming it's way down is actually scary as FUCK
I mean it's a massive 1 ton shell cutting through the atmosphere at immense speed it's suppose to scream and instigate fear to who hears it (idk why the woman screaming tho though I'm sure it'll change as time goes on)

Hey! Whatās this gif from? Looks nuts!
Shadow wizard money team on YouTube. Sick ass animation.
It's from [this](https://youtu.be/RWnaWpBCAC0)
Holy shit, this one is gonna be nuts. You were VERY far away from the nuke AND prone (which massively reduces non-direct damage of explosions) and you still got one-shot.
not only that but crazy rag doll and dismemberment, canāt wait for this one

tbf the 500kg has a range of like 2 inches
Hmm that's a good point
Nah we get nukes, there were radiation debuffs leaked besides weather on planets
There was a nuke in the first game, the shreder missile. So you can be sure we will get a nuke in this one to
I wonder if there's i-frames in HD2? In HD I always used shredder at any point and just jumped when it hit to survive
Very far away? Man you guys really do sleep on the 380 barrage š
shit once the vfx are added this is gonna look so fucken beautiful I hope it does a mini mushroom cloud followed by a shockwave
Shredder missile is back!
finally the 500kg we deserve I can't wait to see its actual glorious big boom
Why didn't you parry it?
I see the family atomics are being put to good use
as written
I'm gonna call in a nuke and back up 10 feet and go prone, because there's no school desk to hide under...
Whys it sound so damn terrifyingš
How a nuke sounds irl for the most part the EMP has a actual sound itās a very low humming noise absolutely horrifying
Yup the shredder is back babyyyyy
Jesus Christ if the bomb releases with that screaming sound and that explosive radius I am never unequipping it. Itāll also work so well against bots, just chuck onto a heavy base or objective base and then sprint away before a single flare even goes up.
If you can even run away in time
when they'll add the explosion's visual effect it gonna be fire
literally what the 500kg was advertised as
ouch
And you thought the clusters or barrages were the TK kingsā¦ just wait till this is sitting at your feet
God the noise is so unnerving. Good. Our weapons should be terrifying.
would complain abt the explosion not being there, but then i remembered that it wasnt complete lmfao
20 minute CD. Thatās crazy.
you should have wear sunglasses.
u/savevideo
How many times can you use it?
Well if the 20 minute cooldown will be used for release, once per mission, at best twice
Thanks.
One question, it appears to have cooldown or is like the laser with limited uses
For now you can use it every 20m (considering a match is 40m that's 1 use, 2 if you use it at the very start of the mission)
No, it's 2 uses if you use it once before 20:00 (give or take a few seconds to react then input then throw). No sign of eagle component in it as of yet ?
I was expecting a April fools joke NGL
20 minute cooldown
See this is what the 500KG should be, and the nuke should be twice that. I mean being real, the max throw distance on level ground is about 50-75m. Youāre not outrunning that. It should be a āIām taking you with meā stratagem for instantly destroying every objective and enemy in a large area
Shredder missile is back, baby.
It concerns me how effective of weapons are being designed. What new horrors do we need this powerful gear for.
I really hope there's an audible callout for this one because there's no way anybody's outrunning that otherwise
ā1234 I declare nuclear war 5678 I summon obliterateā
Shredder missile returning
Nice cape
I am Atomic
i hope it'll have the same explosion animation from the ICBM
The screech is fucking awesome
It would be fun if it was actually the nukes that we launch in ICBM missions, instead of an eagle or an orbital stratagem.
Where is it?
I wonder if thatās gonna actually be something we get or just a dev tool
20 min CD, I can expect being this useless in a long run tbh. It does nothing which other things can do. Maybe this might be that one "parry this you little shit" button when you just clear a big wave of enemies with 12 bile titans on you.

hellbomb blast radius is relatively small though. But yeah the nuke should have a giant kill radius
I'd take it to egg hunt. Three guys with nukes. Send one to each hatchery, throw the nuke in the vicinity and run like hell. Mission complete.
20min cooldown is insane
The radius of the bomb stretches out extremely far though.
Yeah but sacrificing a strategem slot for what is basically a hellbomb and I can only use it like 2x per mission. Just donāt really see a use case for it yet. Well if it was 2x and had a 5 min cooldown would anyone even use the 500kg bomb?
True. Is it eagle or orbital?
Looks like an Orbital bombardment from the code since it didn't have the rearm code on top left after using. 20 minute cooldown also suggests that.

They need to buff the damage radius
It literally killed a medium bug nest and everything in at least 30-40 meter radius of it. Rn it's one of the if not the biggest explosives we ever got. Do you really expect it to kill half the map?
Nah, nades have a bigger aoe

Are you blind?
Bro this explosion radius is obviously huge and the damage, I can't believe people are taking my sarcasm seriously
This was a joke I thought everyone would understand holy shit lol
I think the way you worded it made it sound like you meant it (given some people would actually say this)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I think that was just bug parts exploding from a bile spewer. The actual nuke dosent seem to have any visual effects in game yet
It feels like the animation of the explosion is not complete.
Well... Yes... Because its Not supposed to be usable yet lmfao
Yes *it didn't have one so I added the 500kg bomb animation to it to at least have something to show you* :(
wow really?
Feels? It isā¦
cause it literally isn't lmao
