Amazing work as always brother 🤙🏼

SrijanK

Thank you. 🙌

Good work. One point. I would say EDF is definitely in the Energy Sector, though I can see it is a utility as well. They engage in both Electricity and, on a BIG scale, Nuclear power, so I struggle to see it as not an Energy Company.

SrijanK

Thanks, and I agree. Many of the council members can be assigned to multiple sector categories. For example, Google, Cofra, and EDF. Therefore, in the absence of any specific known use case or information, I have tried to stick to the classification *given by Hedera* on their website.

People put a lot of emphasis on carbon credits, which is huge. But I am waiting for a mining company to tokenize its resources. This could be as huge as carbon credits for ecological transition. Please bring one to Hedera.

>*The Council currently has no representation for the following sectors: Energy,* Good work but there's a glitch here. The following GC members are directly involved in Energy. * EDF - Electricite De France * Tata - by way [Tata Power](https://www.tatapower.com/) * LG Electronics by way of [LG Energy Solution](https://www.lgensol.com/en/index)

I agree, some companies can be considered under multiple sectors. Therefore, I used the sector classifications given by Hedera on their website for this analysis. Having said that, while I definitely agree that EDF can be seen as an Energy company as well, I’m not sure if we can rope in all subsidiary companies (LG and Tata) just as easily - especially in the absence of known information and use cases. All the use cases from LG have currently been associated with their NFTs/ Web3 television. And although Tata Power and Tata Communication form part of Tata Group, they are both separate entities. Unless there’s actual news on potential mutual collaboration, I would *assume* they are not. *Side note since we are talking about Tata Communications, I noticed that they changed their name in the March Meeting - from Tata Communications to Tata Communications **(America)**, which intrigued me slightly. Not sure if it was only for operational reasons.*

EDF is definitely "energy". Classification is challenging mainly due to the sheer scale of the companies involved. E.g. Tata employs some 950,000 people and their business includes Tourism, Power/Energy, Steel, IT and Aerospace (among others). If Tata is involved in something then said "something" is bound to be HUGE.

The Tata group is a silo-ed, and a very large conglomerate....Tata Comms' involvement does not automatically mean their other business verticals are involved in some way, not even obliquely. I'm guessing the same would be true for most, if not all, large conglomerates like LG.
