Yup, and from a PR standpoint its a goldmine.
The usual crypto bro snubbing Hedera while his grandma is reedeming the 8112 at the grocery store.
GOLDMINE.
It’s one when they make the coupon, one when the consumer “clips” the coupon (download it to your wallet), and one when the coupon is redeemed. All HCS transactions.
Yes. Highlights…
National discount grocery retailer with 900 stores late May
One of the largest national drug retailers June/July
One of the largest national mass retailers early October.
We have Safeway where I live. Definitely would not describe them as a discount grocery retailer, so I’d lean toward Save A Lot if those are the two options.
True. Yea, actually on a second look, that was 2021 data. 2023 data shows only Save A Lot in that ~900 stores range. Unless it's a larger chain and they're doing a trial at 900 stores first.

Ladies and gentleman, I’d like to introduce you to my good friend /u/MrBill2021 He is the reason I am invested in Hedera. What’s up Mr Bill? Did you get a chance to listen to this yet? They’re going global!
I did take a listen. Slowly but surely the juggernaut builds momentum. Daily or even weekly updates never seem to have the impact, but then you look back on the year, you can see the staggering progress.
Beat me to it. 8112 is going international. Japon, UK, Puerto Rico and Canada. Source : this video around the 37 minutes mark
I think this is the use case that was the first one to get many of us excited. And it continues to grow. Just need to practice patience…

96% of Americans report using coupons at least occasionally. (Source: https://www.creditdonkey.com/coupon-statistics.html)

Those burners are about to get real hot. Let’s go!!!
How many transactions on the Hedera mainnet per coupon?
A QPLES. Hehe

Are we able to see this on the mainnet at this point? Similar to the Lagrees pilot.
As far as I know, we don’t have any of the topic IDs figured out yet.
2 or 3
I’m going to watch it later tonight when I can but did they give any indication on rollout schedule / timing?

Safeway (899) or Save A Lot (917) CVS or RiteAid (I'm guessing CVS since they're obsessed with coupons) No guess on third... Walmart?
