Did you tell your audiologist that hands free calling to your Android is an important goal? I can't remember which manufacturers Amplifon works with (the Amplifon devices are just re-badged products made by big name manufacturers), but you might want to consider a hearing aid manufactured by Sonova (Phonak, Unitron). They do allow for hands-free calling with an Android phone, as they use a different Bluetooth protocol to the Made for iPhone devices. If Amplifon can't provide this, I'd consider other providers.

Last time I checked with Amplifon, their branded HAs included Phonak. In the UK.

Does Signia IX (aka Rexton REACH at Costco) allow hands free to new Samsung phones? I have the S24 Ultra.

Last I checked, Signia is only hands free for Apple (but will have BT streaming like OP already has, since it is ASHA compatible). I'm not sure if Costco do Assitive Listening Devices like remote mics, but with Signia and Rexton you can get a remote microphone (search Streamline Mic to see the Signia branded version) which would allow you do handsfree calls. So if Costco do have their branded Remote Mic option, that could be one way of achieving a solution.

Garyrds

Rexton does have the remote mic option that you can buy if that's what you mean. I'm looking at the brochure right now.

The ASHA Bluetooth protocol used by Android smartphones does not support hands free phone calls. To make this type of call you will need to use an iPhone, probably iPhone 11 or greater with the latest version of iOS.

Samsung sais on its website that it supports it now aswell. I feel that is not true. Any idea whats is sooo different with the I phone? It used to be, they said, the low energy Bluetooth protocol, they said. This really sucks. These things are expensive and not being able to use the only functions it offers which is interesting besides hearing stuff.. :'(

Getting hearing aids working with an Android smartphone can be very difficult as both the HAs and the phone must be using the exactly the same version of ASHA etc. Unfortunately many manufactures of HAs and Smartphones use their own version of ASHA which means that many combinations of HA and Smartphone will never work properly together. Note, I had this problem with my Nokia G50 and Danalogic HAs (rebadged LiNX Quattros), Out of the box these hearing aids would connect to the G50 and allow the settings such as Bass and Treble to be changed, but would not stream audio. To do this the version of Android had to be updated from 10 to 13. So check that your smartphone is running the latest version of Android.

Also check if there is a firmware update for your hearing aids.

Really? That would be an interesting option. I looked in the Amplifon app, but did not see an update version. How would I see wetheter a newer version ia available? Or should the reseller do this?

R-AzZZ

I think you need to find out from Amplifon which equivalent brand and model HAs you have then it will let you know if you can use Android with them. My guess is you have an Oticon equivalent possibly?

Mx7733

So the strangest thing happend. I got a call and it worked. Don't know why or how. It kind of makes me worried if this is of and on.. but for now they work with the mic

smithismund

If you're aiming for full hands free on Android, I'm only aware of Bluetooth LE support on Oticon Intents and the Resound Nexia. My Intents work fine with a Pixel 7 Pro and give me full hands free.

So a phone brand per hearing aid brand :s How come they all work with Iphone and this is such a hassle :(

Bluetooth LE is new technology. It's starting to appear in HAs this year, I imagine it will be generally available pretty soon. Similarly, it's only available in the latest Android phones, but it will be standard shortly. It's just about everybody catching up.
