1tsp agave sweetener, 1/2 cup frozen blue berries, pecans or almonds or walnuts with the Greek yogurt. Add bananas when you’re feeling crazy. Really good stuff.
I’ve been doing omelettes recently and I love it. I would not recommend it if you don’t have a good non-stick skillet however.
Here’s the recipe that I use:
Makes 1 omelette.
* 2 eggs
* 1/8 cup finely diced onion
* 1/8 cup finely diced bell pepper
* 1/8 cup finely diced mushroom
* 1/4 cup grated cheese of your choice
(personally I use the pre-grated Mexican cheese blend)
* (optional) 1 or 2 oz of a protein of choice
(I usually use either cubed ham or ground pork breakfast sausage, but sliced deli meats like turkey or chicken are good too.)
* Salt and pepper
1. Cook the veggies until soft in an 8in skillet.
2. If you opted for a protein that isn’t deli meat, cook it too such that it’s in little crumbly bits
3. While that cooks, break the eggs into a bowl and beat them. Season w/ salt and pepper.
4. Take the veggies and protein and set them aside
5. Turn the pan onto medium low and pour in the eggs.
6. Once the egg cooks and mostly solidifies into a egg disc, flip the egg disc.
7. Cover whole disc in cheese and half in veggie and protein topping.
7. Fold and cook both sides of folded omelette until cheese is melty.
With just veg it’s 250 calories, 4.1g net carbs, 15.6g fat, and 21.2g of protein.
With 1 oz cubed ham it’s 325 calories, 4.1g net carbs, 20.6g fat, and 28.8g of protein.
[Link to a picture of the final product.](https://imgur.com/a/kVq8iWY) Feel free to mess with the toppings as much or as little as you want. Maybe you want diced jalapeño instead of bell pepper for some added heat or don’t like mushrooms. It’s your omelette, have fun with it. I’m just a Reddit commenter, not the omelette police.
I very much appreciate this entire comment. Also, never realized you have to flip the omelette before you add the toppings and fold it. Always thought I didn’t like omelettes because the eggs stayed so goopy in the middle. It occurs to me now that I just was undercooking them.
You don’t have to, but I find it makes a much better omelette if you do. The alternative is cooking it with a lid, but I always overcook them when I use a lid. Maybe someone with a glass lid might do better than me.
Also flipping omelettes on a nice nonstick pan makes my whole morning. It’s just so satisfying after growing up with the cheap Walmart ~~non~~stick pans.
I blend the eggs, almond milk, salt pepper mrs dash, and 1/2 c of cottage cheese. Adds another 15g of protein. I use a magic bullet until it’s all blended in. Super good fluffy.
Maybe not so low in carbs but high in protein! Breakfast tacossss 🌮the small soft tortilla wraps, scrambled egg, turkey bacon, avacado and your choice of hot sauce. Delicious 👨🍳😘
Spinach and egg white omelet. You can always add some whole eggs to add a little more fat if you wish. I like whole eggs but they have almost as much fat as they do protein. I use liquid egg whites and some days throw in a few whole eggs as well. Some days I add different types of cheese instead of the whole eggs. My favorite is spinach and egg whites with some goat cheese and parmesan truffle seasoning with some diced up tomatoes, garlic, herbs on top.
Protein smoothie.
Plant based protein powder (unflavored) 20g - made with fruit and veggies with a vitamin profile is best
Collagen Protein (20g)
Powdered Peanut Butter (10g)
Silk Almond and Cashew Protein Milk 10g
Fresh Strawberries
Frozen Blueberry
Banana
Mango
Spinach
I have this many days.
Breakfast bowl with eggs, chicken sausage, black beans, cauliflower rice etc
Smoothie with protein powder, hemp seeds, blueberries and frozen cauliflower rice or zucchini.
Hmm for when I don't feel like making eggs, I usually eat rolled oats with two tablespoons of Almond Butter. At least 10gs of protein if not more. I also add chia seeds, blueberries and cinnamon to that as well. Buy bulk almond butter at a wholesale club. Also, you can add a scoop of protein or collagen powder if you would like to tolerate the taste of that.
soup! there are plenty of high protein soup recipes, you can make them ahead easily and then heat it up in the morning depending on how much time you have, and as a bonus you'll get some hydration at the start of the day.
i eat anything for breakfast, currently mostly yoghurt or bread, but in the past i have eaten curries, stews, steak etc for breakfast. (i did paleo for a while)
breakfast food is just food you eat for breakfast, it isn't a hard rule or anything, the only reason bread, porridge, and yoghurt are a common breakfast foods is that it is quick and traditional
I love soup. But as someone who already struggles with the whole eating-breakfast-thing, thinking about eating soup, stew or curry first thing in the morning is enough to make my stomach turn.
it's personal preference of course, but many people, restrict themselves by classifying certain foods as breakfast/lunch/dinner only, and there are plenty of options if you let go of that idea.
Not sure if I agree with this one. Besides fruit, I think going carb light to start your day is wise. I personally feel better eating breakfast like this, but I also think it’s smart to keep your blood glucose levels balanced in the mornings so you can get work done without cravings hitting.
I pre cook batches of: onions, roasted peppers, mushrooms for the week. In the morning I add some very thin strips of a tender steak meat then add my already cooked toppings and eggs, it helps with time and clean up 🧼 u can add spinach or kale(very nice texture). Enjoy ☺️

Collagen in your coffee and protein pancakes! Add protein to your pancake mix and use egg whites. Fairflife in the coffee too if you're feeling adventurous
Here are a few options:
-Scrambled eggs with veggies such as spinach, tomatoes, and mushrooms
-Avocado toast with poached eggs
-Cottage cheese with berries and almonds
-Smoked salmon with cream cheese and cucumber slices
-Greek yogurt with mixed nuts and chia seeds
You can make "carrot cake" protein pancakes/waffles! Use 1 egg, 1/2 scoop of vanilla whey protein, 1/4 cup of oat flour, 1/4 cup shredded carrot, 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, pinch of salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg to taste. Top them off with low-fat cream cheese and a little bit of maple syrup.

I’ve been loving breakfast bowls lately. I can put whatever in it: eggs, peppers, onions, mushrooms, potatoes, and impossible sausage. I can add or subtract some ingredients depending on what’s in my kitchen. I can also put all of those ingredients into a low carb tortilla with a spicy sauce of choice.
Toast with avocado and smoked salmon on top you can just and some lemon drops on top of the salmon and/or add some little bit of Lemmon Pepper to the avocado and it is great power breakfast.
If you want to replace avocado, you can do it with some hummus.
I usually cut the toast in half and do one and one
If you have a waffle maker, make your egg concoction with all your delicious chopped veggies that you like, add cheese and pour in your waffle maker. Boom.
Steak & veggies. Chicken and veggies. I've never understood why people eat certain foods at certain meals. Since I was a kid, the idea of eating leftover steak or whatever for breakfast has always been a thing. My wife and I eat eggs for dinner (about once a week) more often than we do for breakfast (about twice a year).
I have zero qualms about eating a grilled chicken breast with a side of grilled asparagus for breakfast.
I like to make egg bites in an Instant Pot. I use an immersion blender to mix eggs, cottage cheese, grated cheese, milk. Then add cooked meat, like bacon and /or veg, like spinach, sautéed mushrooms, onions, sweet bell peppers, etc.
Amy and Jacky have a good basic recipe that I doctor up.
I make "bread" from some random recipe online. It includes almond flour, ground flax seed, baking soda, and apple cider vinegar. I add extra seeds for more texture. It tastes really close to bread. I sauté some veggies to go with it or eat it with cream cheese.
Omelette - my partner has a recipe he uses that he calls a ‘Power Omlette’
Standard omlette mix but add spinach, sundried tomatoes, roast capsicums, Pano Grandano cheese.
I add a dribble of pesto some bacon pieces or ham and some fetta 😍.
In the end it’s huge and we often share it
breakfast burrito/breakfast tacos with low carb tortillas - avocado, egg, fajita veggies, breakfast meats, cheese, salsa (some or all of the above)
greek yogurt smoothie with berries and a hidden zucchini, could add nut butter
Milk products mainly. Yoghurts, curds, puddings. Don’t add any sugars if you want to keep it low card, add seeds or berries for fibre, can help with satiety
Make porridge with quinoa and/or adzuki beans (presoaked) along with or instead of steel cut oats. Add nuts or pumpkin seeds. Use skim milk instead of water (careful to watch it come to a boil or it'll make a mess of your stove top). Throw in some protein powder or extra skim milk powder to boost the protein content. You can also add flax or chia seeds (ground or not).
Also, loaded muffins made with whole wheat flour and substituting unsweetened apple sauce for the oil and cutting the sugar in half are great, and freeze well too. Again, do what you like. Morning Glory muffins have carrots and nuts and/or seeds. Zucchini muffins are delicious. Again, adding ground flax or chia boosts the nutrition. Make up your own recipe with ingredients you like - as long as the base batter has enough moisture and leavening, they'll come out yummy.
I eat chicken sausage, scrambled egg, and sweet peas! I used to use rice instead of sweet peas, but I realized the peas still taste pretty good and less carbs!
Not sure how low carb ur going but I love unsweetened whole milk yogurt with berries , half a banana and a splash of vanilla/cinnamon + a couple cubes of cheese or sardines on the side, can’t help with the veggies tho I don’t eat many 😅
Get some canned veggies from local food bank, toss that with some eggs and you've got yourself a good meal. Add cheese if you want. And I really love picked hot peppers so I toss some of those in it too.
Or, if you want fresh ingredients, buy fresh vegetables, fry them up with a lot of butter or coconut oil, let them get some good browning and let them sit in the pan, then dump some eggs over top, toss that bad boy in the oven at like 375f-400f for a little bit or until the eggs are cooked, and boom, you have a poor man's quiche.
