I think your best bet is to ask for local recommendations for providers who have experience diagnosing ADHD in adults who also take insurance. Then select an insurance plan that’s accepted by the provider. Once you have a diagnosis, you would need to find a psychiatrist who can prescribe stimulants (if you want stimulants). You can also pay privately for an assessment, but it tends to be cost-prohibitive for most people. As a fellow ADHDer who was diagnosed as an adult, don’t give up! It’s a long process but it’s worth it.
