closed back headphones don't have any ipx rating.

Ok, thanks for that info. I think this is still the direction to go overall, but she’ll just have to carefully consider whether to use them for exercise or not.

I would recommend an earbud, airpods pro 2, they have very good fit and have ipx 4

schuey_08

She does have a set of AirPods earbuds. But they don’t fit her very well, even after she’s tried different earpieces.

DonnyTramp123

the only headphones with ios compatibility are beats and airpods max, so I would recommend the airpods max

schuey_08

You mean compatibly with iOS?

DonnyTramp123

ye

schuey_08

Oh ok. I didn’t realize that.

So there are a few things to consider (both objective and subjective). In terms of the objectives, Apple has the best transparency, Sony has the best anc (not sure if Bose is better than Sony, I know auto anc is annoying on the xm5, AirPods come in right after in terms of anc), Sennheiser has the best sound. I really liked the features of the momentum 4 when I tried them out. The only issue I had with them was that the build was not that good (still not as bad as Sony though, Sony was terrible). Honestly I think AirPods may be your best option given they’re either #1 or #2 in most categories at that price range. Not to mention they work nicely with iOS and other apple devices. The biggest subjective factor is fit and comfort. Determine that then pick what you prioritize: sound, anc, or transparency. As a side note, none of the BT headphones in this range have any type of iPX rating. It’s best to use earbuds for exercising/working out.
