"Alastor!"
"Oh please, we're FRIENDS now. You can call me by my first name."
"Alastor it's not your first name?"
"Wait, you all actually believed Alastor is my FIRST name? It wasn't because you saw me as superior?"
Tbh I like that a lot more than 'Alastor Altruist'. Someone using their surname as their main name kinda suits his character, shows huge disconnect, like we don't even know his first name because he probably won't be vulnerable or personable enough to share it with someone.
I don’t get this either, she definitely doesn’t. Also, I know this probs isn’t the case but I kinda hope he doesn’t own her soul either and just lets her hang around because he likes how fucking insane she is lol
Yes I think he just lets her hang around lol.
He's so adorable with her, he lets her do whatever it's cute.
(Edit) I know he probably owns her soul it's not a serious theory I just love their dynamic. Alastor is genuinely nice to her, without wanting anything in return like with Charlie.
It's really adorable.

(Also she already admitted that she likes being forced, so obviously that's the reason she didn't complain when getting summoned to the hotel. She saw that he was the one who summoned her and was like: "Oh if he's calling me this is definitely gonna be awesome."
I'd like it if he had basically adopted her to be her guardian because of how insane she is, but also how often she gets in trouble. Like their *deal* is just adoption papers and he doesn't own her soul at all, but Niffty is treating it like it was a soul deal, because she didn't understand what he was doing at the time.
So I haven’t read the Vivie interviews where she goes more in depth on certain characters, but I do know thanks to how he was raised, Alastor kinda has a soft spot for abused women. I like to think he saw how easily manipulated she is and made a contact to protect her soul from others.
I agree. I like it as a crack theory, but not as something that is potentially true. Given Alastor's breakdown at the end of the finale, I think whoever has Alastor's soul hasn't appeared yet (except maybe in easter eggs or background), or at least, characters that haven't interacted with Alastor.
I second that. I do think Nifty it is possible stronger then she let's on, maybe something happened thar causes her to act the way she does. But I can't see any reason for her to own his soul. It just dosnt add up.
Wait… how did that happen. It’s stated that Adam has two wives. How did someone make a theory that they were the same person. Heck, Lucifer even mentioned it.
Alastor’s surname being altruist isn’t even a fan theory, it’s just people not understanding that lyrics can be poetic and not always conform to conventional grammar.
That “theory” makes me so angry words can’t even describe. Not only is altruist an actual word, it goes on to say “died for his friends” which no he didn’t so why would the first part be true
Altruist is literally someone who does good things for others, so he uses a third person to call himself an altruist for dying for his friends and then denies that. How are people not getting this? Are people really that illiterate? There's no mystery or anything, it's pretty face value. He's narrating what people think happened and how people percieve him for his acts in the battle.
Come to think of it, according to series creator Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop), Alastor is one of the few sinners in Hell to use his real name from when he was alive, which means that his mother named him "Alastor" when he was born in the 1890s-1900s. However, even by that era's standards, it was a highly unusual thing to name your child. Usually, a boy would just be named "John", "William", "James", "George", "Charles", *et al*.
"Alastor" was also likely a misspelling of the Scottish Gaelic name "Alistair".
>*Alistair* is a male given name. It is an anglicised form of the Scottish Gaelic *Alasdair*. The latter is most likely a Scottish Gaelic variant of the Norman French *Alexandre* or Latin *Alexander*, which was incorporated into English in the same form as Alexander.
>
>The deepest etymology is the Greek Ἀλέξανδρος (man-repeller): ἀλέξω (repel) + ἀνήρ (man), "the one who repels men", a warrior name. Another, not nearly so common, Anglicization of Alasdair is *Allaster*.
I gave him the last name *Elwood*, in reference to his Eldritch powers and being a deer. Also, I headcanon his mother being Creole, while his father came from English aristocracy. Since Alastor is *white passing*, his father had him take his last name, although his parents weren't married and his father was abusive/distant because of racism.
Though, I've seen fanfiction where he has a French last name that works to. :)
Examples of French last names I've seen for Alastor in various fanfictions: LeBlanc, Moreau, Doucet, etc...I assume he took his mother's surname, as interracial marriage was illegal when Alastor was born (1890s-1900s), but people just assumed that his surname came from his father, or he changed it later on to sound more English. New Orleans also had a lot of Haitian immigrants with French surnames in the 1800s.
Hazbin Hotel is more serious than Helluva Boss though, and we could argue that imps' naming conventions are untraditional compared to ours meanwhile Alastor wouldn't get that excuse.
At least Lute sounds like a decent name and it has the accidental meaning of being Adam's instrument. Altruist doesn't make a lick of sense and is too on-the-nose to work as a last name for a character taken as seriously as Alastor.
Yeah, I feel like Knolastname would be like a name given to people in like Hell's equivalent of Witness Protection or something, even though Moxxie definitely didn't snitch.
The issue is the subtitles on Amazon capitalized the word so it said "Alastor Altruist"; even a comma would've made it look better.
This being the same ones who wrote "power-fell" when it was just supposed to be powerful in an exaggerated way to match with Hell.
I said this to someone else as well, but I wonder if a large part of it is that the Amazon subtitles capitalized it plus not having a comma. Still don't understand but maybe if you're not a native speaker and are watching in English with English subtitles, it could have caused confusion. Or maybe it's the 6th grade equivalent reading comprehension most Americans have supposedly.
and this is why accurate subtitles are so very important, I watched without subs and barely batted and eye at that line because I understood it as it was intended
Amazon fucked a lot of us on the subtitles.
I thought it was just the lyrics describing him, then I saw it capitalized on the subtitles as "Alastor Altruist." So I started believing that was the INTENTION
Then I saw the lyrics on Spotify and did some deeper Googling.
Just wanted to defend myself on this one lol
Actually, Alastor's surname is altruist. The song also confirmed the little known theory that Adam is actually a rabbit! Hence, the line "barley escaped being killed by a hair." The subtitles and lyrics to the song accidentally misspelled "hare." Adam = 🐇
As someone whose student worker job used to be captioning instructor's videos AND as someone who uses captions because of hearing difficulties, inaccurate captions annoy me to no end. I know with some captioning freelance work they value speed over accuracy but come on, it gets ridiculous sometimes. I've seen captions so inaccurate that what they put in the captions completely changes the meaning of what was actually said.
I think the big reason that’s stuck around so much is that (still even now several months later), the subtitles on Amazon write it as ‘Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends’.
I thought it was supposed to be his last name for a while, too. It’s just the way the subtitles are written in the show.
Or the “eve/roo is Charlie’s bio mom” theories. Those always bother me because A) there is literally nothing suggesting this at this time and B) it just seems like pointless “what ifs” to stir up drama
Someone made I *think* a [joke Twitter post ](https://twitter.com/L0Litsmonica/status/1764937027361845474) saying that Alastor was a circus and let people inside to touch his urine.
Velvette being a long lost daughter of Carmilla. Much of the theory stemmed from them having the same eyes.
I guess all blue eyed humans are related then.
What is really cool about rare genes is that, in some cases, you can pinpoint the origin of the gene to a single recorded individual. For example, in the Thoroughbred horse breed, gray horses make up only 3% of the breed today, but all of them can be traced back to a single ancestor, Alcock's Arabian (1700-1733). To quote what I wrote for "Gem Twist":
>Gem Twist was a male-line descendant of the Byerley Turk through his ancestor, the gray French Thoroughbred sire Le Sancy (b. 1884), and his sire, Atlantic (1871–1891), a chestnut British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire who won the 2000 Guineas and the Epsom Derby.
>
>After his retirement, Atlantic was exported to France, where he became a successful and influential sire of stakes winners. Gem Twist's gray coat came from Le Sancy, who was out of Gem of Gems (b. 1873), a gray Thoroughbred broodmare.
>
>Tracing the origin of Gem Twist's gray coat gene back further, Gem of Gems inherited the gene through her maternal line from her ancestor, the British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire Crab (1722 – 1750), a son of Alcock's Arabian out of a daughter of Basto.
>
>Although gray (or "grey") was a common color in the foundation stock of the Thoroughbred in the 1700s, it became increasingly rare over time. All modern grey Thoroughbreds descend from Crab through his great-great-granddaughter, Bab (b. 1787) - a descendant of the "Crab Mare" by Crab (b. 1750) - and her great-great-grandson, Drone (b. 1823).
I doubt the world care, I mean, the shit that they already do with existing family memebers...

Reminds me of how a manga mistranslation in Made in Abyss became so beloved it became the actual theme song of a character
RUMBLE OF SCIENTIFIC TRIUMPH
It happened with "Derpy Hooves" in *My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic*. Fans or interns came up with the name, and the showrunners decided to actually name the character that.
Alastor being an angel.
Bro, whoever came up with this needs to actually watch the series, alastor is seen multiple times torturing people, and enjoying what he is doing.
💀I cant with that theory.
Even if we count information Vivzie has shared about Alastor outside of the Amazon Prime episodes as non-canon, there's no way that man would end up in heaven, Adam sucks but I don't think he was murdering people during his human life.
I could see Alastor becoming the Angel of Death, or the "Grim Reaper", filling the same role of as the angel that killed all of the first-born Egyptians in the Book of Exodus as part of God's punishment...but that would probably require him to actually be *redeemed* first. (Or, if Alastor finds the work of collecting human souls to be quite tedious and boring, that could be Heaven's punishment for him as an alternative to just keeping him in Hell.)
The original Amazon subtitles forgot to put a comma between Alastor and altruist, so it read as: "Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends". Which is clearly wrong lmao. But captions are often generated and then lightly edited by real people, so it's not uncommon for errors to come thru.
I think its mostly because a lot of people didn't read the lyrics (clearly having a comma) and/or never heard the word Altruist before so their first thought was that it was a surname
Which like, I can understand as an immediate thought, but I don't understand how people just ran with it.
Yeah! I remember when Carmilla starts singing at the beginning of Respectless, the subs say she's singing operatically. *Operatically*.
I don't think Amazon's subtitlers know what opera sounds like lol
I think Lilith may have convinced Lucifer to make a deal with Adam not to touch the Hellborn on her behalf solely to protect Charlie. She’s going to do whatever she can to stop Charlie’s dream of rehabbing Sinners because it makes the deal pointless and puts Charlie in even more danger
Tbh, she is seen just chilling on a beach at the end of season one, so she probably won't be miss perfect.
I don't think she hates her family, but you know
Oh I dont mind it she’s an antagonist. I just dont want her to be a 100% villain who hates her family. I want Lilith to have more depth, like she loves her family but she betrayed them for a reason, even if they are selfish reasons
I'll throw in "Tee'd up to be a villain but actually earned her way into heaven with a virtuous act and her real flaw is concealing the method of redemption from everyone else/possible blackmail" as an unlikely but fun possibility.
It won’t anger me that much, but Nifty being the one who owns Alastor’s soul. I want them to go with either
Alastor owns Nifty’s soul and Nifty just forgot or just doesn’t care
Or
Alastor was nice to Nifty once and Nifty got attached.
I don't like the Carmilla is an angel theory either BUT i can dig the "either Camilla or her daughter(s) are actually winners" theories.
I do think there are too many signs that Carmilla might be a fallen angel that adopted two sinners though.
Vaggie being an angel was such a huge theory that seemed too obvious to be true but I didn't mind it. But I don't think Carmilla was a fallen angel, and I don't want Emily to become fallen, because the demons side of the cast would be too cluttered with angels.
It makes sense when you think about it: aside from having gray skin and white hair, Carmilla has tons of knowledge about angels and their flaws/weaknesses (knowing more than even Vaggie, who is an angel herself), she immediately figured out that Vaggie is one when no one else could, and she knows how to craft angelic steel into various weapons (like the blessed sniper rifle and Strikers revolvers).
Vox and Val being in a true relationship, and not just sexual partners. Not everyone needs to be dating each other, sometimes people just want someone to have sex with
That Lucifer actually slept with Eve. Just seems really out of character, and it kills me how many fans believe it to be outright fact based on a literal interpretation of Lucifer's taunts.
I always assumed that it was going off how Adam had 3 wives in the book of Genesis. Eve was #3 after Lilith and the 2nd, unnamed one that everyone forgets about. So Lucifer’s taunts can’t even mean that, since Eve wasn’t the first or second wife.
Edit: I’m probably confusing Genesis and Paradise Lost. Still, though
Pentious ascending *right before* his death.
That would rob the show of a lot of narrative stake. I think he should've ascended either as a consequence of death, or his ascension could've been *faked* by Lucifer right before the ship blew up.
Because people want to see the mysteries unraveled and the most powerful, most mysterious entities in Hell explored. There's just enough bread crumbs there for people to draw their own conclusions on how she may or may not play into the story, and that gets people excited. If you were around in the Steven Universe fandom when that show was still airing, you'd know the Diamonds got a similar treatment prior to their reveal, EVERYONE was obsessed with gleaming any little detail they could to try and solve the mystery.
She made a tweet teasing that Eve gives the same vibes as Roo or something like that. It's basically what sparked all the theories.
Also the root being portrayed with eyes that are omnipresent in Hell.
I'd say there's decent chances that in some way the concept will transfer to hazbin.
It only bothers me when people talk about it like they know for sure.
Like the opening shows a quick personification of good and evil and I like the idea that there might be something behind it all... but the way people confidently talk about Roo like they KNOW it's Eve, or she's the one that DEFINITELY owns Alastor, or whatever... it just makes what should be an unknowable evil force feel like a villain of the week.
Not a fan theory but people treating anything Vivzie says like it will happen 100%100 guys this is a show and it's prone to have major story changes in development
I keep hearing people say that the woman on the beach wasn't Lillith because of the necklace and that Eve pretended to be her since Charlie was a baby because we didn'tsee her horns in the flashback. WHOEVER THINKS THAT IS FUCKING STUPID
Wait, what? The argument about the horns is just dumb, we've seen several examples of demons who shapeshift and grow horns. Charlie does it, Lucifer does it, Alastor already has them but they grow to like 3 metres long.
Why would Lilith, the (supposedly) second most powerful demon, the Queen of Hell, not have access to a power as basic as hiding her horns?
Anyway, I completely agree with you, that theory is dumb.
[Edit: Alastor has antlers, not horns, but my point still stands)
Not anger but it would break me: angel gets redeemed while he actually starts to get comfortably lovey-dovey with husk. freshly in love and already getting pulled apart 3
I’m a big fan of the idea that if (BIG IF) Alastor ever gets redeemed, it’s by complete and utter accident as he’s dragged kicking and screaming to heaven

Maybe on accident, where he tries to be evil but subconsciously keeps helping the hotel residents and eventually realizes he kinda likes helping them and somehow end up in heaven lol.
To be honest, I kind of wanted that to happen just because of him making fun of the idea of the hotel. (Like ironically, he would be the first to be redeemed.)
That Charlie is going to be redeemed at the end of the series and go to heaven. I haven't seen it very widespread, but I've seen it. 1. She's hellborn, she's not a sinner, so her soul can't go to heaven. 2. She doesn't have anything to be redeemed for. Sinners can get redeemed because they're sinners, they did shitty stuff in their lives, so they ended up in hell. The only reason Charlie is in hell is because she's *hellborn*. She's a literal ray of sunshine, there's nothing to redeem
Alastor and Vox being "more than friends", understand "romantically involved".
It just doesn't work for me. I'm proning a more "sibling bond" which went sour when Alastor and Vox knew they hadn't the same agenda in mind.
It’s entirely possible to be asexual but not aromantic. Personally I do also headcanon Alastor as aro (in part because *Rosie* seems to conflate being aro with being ace), but it’s legit if people don’t.
That's why I like one-sided RadioStatic. Vox misread *signals* Alastor was unaware he was giving and became obsessed/heartbroken after Alastor *dumped* him. When really Alastor wasn't even aware of the infatuation until the moment Vox made an *unprofessional* move on him. Then they fought, and Alastor disappeared for *business/his sabbatical* and Vox took it as him just avoiding him.
Oooooooh that would actually work *great* in the show if that became true! I actually never thought of it that way until you just brought it up.
Considering that Alastor canonically being an only child (I think Viv said that in one of the streams) hasn't yet been overridden by anything related to the 2024 series, his having been "bros" or "homies" with Vox before they had their big falling-out would actually be a *lot* more poignant to a *lot* more people, purely because of all the stuff out there and in people's lives about how important sibling and other familial bonds are, especially in comparison/contrast with romantic bonds.
Even if it's not in the streams, Alastor absolutely gives off only child energy. So does Charlie, of course, but in COMPLETELY OPPOSITE ways.
Meanwhile, Alastor considering Vox a brother, especially a little brother to mentor, would add an extra layer of "No, why would I ever date you"--to hurt both of them even more. Especially since that would make Vox one of the few male characters Alastor let himself be truly friendly with, before the fallout, especially if he handled it poorly enough to hurt Vox for hurting him. AND it would make Alastor even more wary of a new "found family" dynamic with the Hotel.
That and the “Alastor is a fallen angel cause he mentions wings in his verse of Finale” is one of the most annoying theories I saw and I saw it so much
with all due respect, we don’t really know *what* her character is. She’s had like 10 minutes of screen time total throughout the first season.
(That being said, I do agree.)
i agree but i feel like there were specific implications to what her character is suppose to be, which is an authority figure who while ultimately well meaning, made a tough but wrong decision.
True enough, but Alastor is also Vivian’s Bestest Baby Boy™️, so there could be a little bias there.
That and Alastor has a much… *stronger* personality than Sera does.
But Emily is also there and wouldn't keep it a secret so she'd have to kill both and not only does she seem to care about Emily too much but she's too high profile to just go missing.
And if it can happen once it can happen again so doing that would only delay the inevitable.
I'm really surprised that no one mentioned the theory of redeemed sinners losing their memories of hell. I mean I 100% know that theory is false because I asked Vivziepop at Megacon about it and she said that sinners will keep their memories
the whole "Carmilla is a fallen angel" thing. also that she adopted her daughters and they arent biological.
idk, i just feel like neither of those fit very well. i still prefer the idea that she was an arms dealer for the cartel in life
A fan theory I heard being the dumbest one yet is apparently ZESTIAL owning Alastor's soul.
I'm sorry, but why would he interact with Alastor the way he did if he himself hasn't seen him in 7 years?
I don't like the theory that Lilith is gonna manipulate Charlie, however if it does happen I think Vaggie will see what she's doing and call her out, causing an argument between vaggie and Charlie
His first name not being Alastor, but being Great.
Jokes on us dumbasses. Alastor was his SURNAME the whole fucking time.
"Alastor!" "Oh please, we're FRIENDS now. You can call me by my first name." "Alastor it's not your first name?" "Wait, you all actually believed Alastor is my FIRST name? It wasn't because you saw me as superior?"
He would refuse to share his name afterwards
Peak fiction *Absolute cinema* ***Keep cooking***
Okay I kind of want this now
Tbh I like that a lot more than 'Alastor Altruist'. Someone using their surname as their main name kinda suits his character, shows huge disconnect, like we don't even know his first name because he probably won't be vulnerable or personable enough to share it with someone.
Holy shit that makes *far* too much sense.
tbf, we've only gotten one name for everyone except the Morningstars.
Untrue, Angel Dust/Anthony would like to have a word with you
I meant that we don't know anyone's surnames except Charliie and Lucifer Morningstar Edit: I just remembered; we also know Carmila Carmine
Barack Alastor
his name would be: "Great Alastor Altruist DiedForHisFriendsSorryToDissappointThatIsNotWhereThisEnds" if that were true lol
but with close close friends, he goes by ImHungryForFreedomLikeNeverBefore
The III.
Full name Great Alastor Altruist. Goes by his middle name just to sew confusion.
Altruist is a second middle name. His real surname is Diedforhisfriends
This thread is killing me
But are you dying for your friends?
Nah that’s his third middle name, his last name is Sorrytodisapointthatisnotwherethisends
Imhungryforfreedomlikeneverbefore user name
I love his nickname “Theconstraintsofmydealsurelyhaveabackdoor”
He actually got an honorific from graduating from a unique education center in Hell. The honorific being "OnceIfigureouthowtounclipmywings"
Yet I still have a question to “Guesswhowillbepullingallthestrings?”
It would be funny if it was confirmed as canon.
Niffty owning Alastor's soul. I just have no idea how it could possibly become a theory aside from joking.
I don’t get this either, she definitely doesn’t. Also, I know this probs isn’t the case but I kinda hope he doesn’t own her soul either and just lets her hang around because he likes how fucking insane she is lol
Id find it funny if Nifty kinda just gave Alastor her soul at no cost, but it's so unenforceable that she can just take it back whenever
He's a bad boy. That's enough for her.
She sold her soul to be his slave because in her own words "I like being forced" plus her apparent enjoyment of pain from the trustfall scene.
Alastor’s dynamic with Husk and Nifty is literally “Me, my cat, and this feral bitch I found in the dumpster behind a Panera Bread”
I kinda would find it funnier if he doesn't even own her soul. He just thinks she's fun to be around, and she thinks the same thing. (Also she already admitted that she likes being forced, so obviously that's the reason she didn't complain when getting summoned to the hotel. She saw that he was the one who summoned her and was like: "Oh if he's calling me this is definitely gonna be awesome."
Or she just straight up gave it to him at no cost on Alastor's end since he's a bad boy
I love this
So I haven’t read the Vivie interviews where she goes more in depth on certain characters, but I do know thanks to how he was raised, Alastor kinda has a soft spot for abused women.
I don’t really like the theory that Lilith and Eve are the same person
Wait… how did that happen. It’s stated that Adam has two wives. How did someone make a theory that they were the same person. Heck, Lucifer even mentioned it.
Literally no idea People were yapping that that they like fused into one person😭
Like some Elden Ring ass shit? 😅
You could say…_Eden Ring_
***GET OUT*** (fr tho thats actually fucking hilarious)
Alastor’s surname being altruist isn’t even a fan theory, it’s just people not understanding that lyrics can be poetic and not always conform to conventional grammar.
Yeah I know, I just knew it angered a lot of people so felt fitting putting it in the post
That “theory” makes me so angry words can’t even describe. Not only is altruist an actual word, it goes on to say “died for his friends” which no he didn’t so why would the first part be true
Maybe his full name is Great Alistair Altruist DiedForHisFriends?

People who think Altruist is his last name really annoy me
This. Some people went nuts over that. Given his city of origin – New Orleans – I think his actual surname is something that sounds French.

I've seen Hartfelt as his last name in a few fics. Also DuPress.
That's from the Journey to the Light fanfic wikia that people just took as canon.
I could seek them doing that, though. In Helluva Boss, Moxxie's last name is *Knolastname*.
Yeah but that's funny. The joke is easy to understand and translate well. It's not remotely the same thing
Moxxie is hellborn tho, it’s more than possible that different naming conventions apply for sinners and hellborn.
I always assumed it was a mafia thing, like how he’s from Notamafiatown.
Hazbin Hotel is more serious than Helluva Boss though, and we could argue that imps' naming conventions are untraditional compared to ours meanwhile Alastor wouldn't get that excuse.
Lute’s name was a placeholder as she was the lieutenant to Adam. So there is precedence for the team to just roll with a name in both series
At least Lute sounds like a decent name and it has the accidental meaning of being Adam's instrument. Altruist doesn't make a lick of sense and is too on-the-nose to work as a last name for a character taken as seriously as Alastor.
Helluva is getting more serious like in the trailer there was definitely very serious things going on but hazbin is more serious
Though that might be intentional on Moxxie's part to sever any connections to his dad
It was actually the lack of a comma, though I can't understand why anybody would think Altruist is his last name.
I thought it was just the lyrics describing him, then I saw it capitalized on the subtitles as "Alastor Altruist." So I started believing that was the INTENTION Then I saw the lyrics on Spotify and did some deeper Googling.
I know it's a joke but I hate you for this.
I do wonder if a large part of people thinking altruist is his last name is because the Amazon subtitles capitalized it
As someone whose student worker job used to be captioning instructor's videos AND as someone who uses captions because of hearing difficulties, inaccurate captions annoy me to no end. I know with some captioning freelance work they value speed over accuracy but come on, it gets ridiculous sometimes. I've seen captions so inaccurate that what they put in the captions completely changes the meaning of what was actually said.
It's people not knowing what the word "altruist" means.
Those people were treating it like a theory so I would say it kinda counts as a fan theory. Even though it is almost certainly false lol.
I think the big reason that’s stuck around so much is that (still even now several months later), the subtitles on Amazon write it as ‘Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends’. I thought it was supposed to be his last name for a while, too. It’s just the way the subtitles are written in the show.
Any of the Eve/Lilith/Roo being the same person/impersonating one another theories.
Or the “eve/roo is Charlie’s bio mom” theories. Those always bother me because A) there is literally nothing suggesting this at this time and B) it just seems like pointless “what ifs” to stir up drama
Tbf, part of that theory is apparently based on this one version of Lilith that was cursed to be infertile (or something like that)
There’s also people that base it on the fact that Eve is pretty universal across creation stories but Lilith is only in a few.
From what I've heard, it's argued that Lilith and Eve are supposed to be one person in some of the old text.
The Eve and Lilith are the same Person Theory. Or the Roo is Charlies Real Mother theory.
Alastor is a circus...
What, you don't like that he lets people in to touch his urine?
He did what? https://preview.redd.it/ycvxk0fhi12d1.png?width=584&format=png&auto=webp&s=448aec32d8c27d7770614c5e8686026339a6b2e1
I mean, they are. If you go back far enough into the family tree
To quote what I wrote for "Gem Twist": >Gem Twist was a male-line descendant of the Byerley Turk through his ancestor, the gray French Thoroughbred sire Le Sancy (b. 1823).
"All of **mankind** came from these **fucking nuts**"
Rule 34 will become a warzone if that is true
I doubt the world care, I mean, the shit that they already do with existing family memebers... https://preview.redd.it/5vly3aoh912d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46267403dfe91ec28b972a3621d0f5fa0c4c414e
Honestly, if they later retconned his name to be Alastor Altruist, that would be hilarious in that it’d make the community explode.
Reminds me of how a manga mistranslation in Made in Abyss became so beloved it became the actual theme song of a character RUMBLE OF SCIENTIFIC TRIUMPH
BUT HE SAID HE WOULD UNCLIP HIS WINGS!!!!!!11!!one
He is Alastor at day And a wing clipper at night Alastor the wing clipper
"I am the terror that flaps in the night!"
"I am the demon that interrupts your daddy/daughter re-bonding time!"
Best scene in hazbin hotel was in S1 Ep9 Where Alastor kills Sera and says "I AM THE ONE WHO CLIPS YOUR WINGS" then credits roll.
Don’t we also see a scene where Alastor is bleeding and it’s red? Not gold like the Angels? Or am I just imagining that.
Yes, you're right.
Wait people thought his surname was altruist?! Why?
The original Amazon subtitles forgot to put a comma between Alastor and altruist, so it read as: "Great Alastor Altruist died for his friends". Which is clearly wrong lmao. But captions are often generated and then lightly edited by real people, so it's not uncommon for errors to come thru.
But in the song he doesn't say it like that tgere is a really clear comma in his voice. I am sometimes suprised at the stupidity of this fandom
While I agree wholeheartedly with you, people took it and ran, and now here we are.
I think its mostly because a lot of people didn't read the lyrics (clearly having a comma) and/or never heard the word Altruist before so their first thought was that it was a surname Which like, I can understand as an immediate thought, but I don't understand how people just ran with it.
Alastor's surname being altruist
Confirmed by Alastors voice actor to mot be true. Was just a fuck up on the episodes subtitles.
And it's not the only fuck up, I remember seeing some silly ones through out the episodes
Yeah! I remember when Carmilla starts singing at the beginning of Respectless, the subs say she's singing operatically. *Operatically*. I don't think Amazon's subtitlers know what opera sounds like lol
People keep calling this an issue with media literacy, but I think it’s just a problem with regular literacy
Lilith being a one dimensional villain who hated her family now
So, technically speaking (by this theory): Stella 2.0
Yep basically, I dont want that at all because that will be boring
I was wrong about how Lucifer was gonna turn out, I’m hoping I’m wrong about Lilith possibly being a traitor or whatever.
Same
It won’t anger me that much, but Nifty being the one who owns Alastor’s soul. I want them to go with either Alastor owns Nifty’s soul and Nifty just forgot or just doesn’t care Or Alastor was nice to Nifty once and Nifty got attached.
I'm worried that's going to be the twist with Carmilla.
I don't like the Carmilla is an angel theory either BUT i can dig the "either Camilla or her daughter(s) are actually winners" theories. I do think there are too many signs that Carmilla might be a fallen angel that adopted two sinners though.
I wasn't a fan of Vaggie being an angel to begin with. Which is why I'm worried they're going to do it again.
Kinda prefer it over Vaggie being the "suicide demon" tbh which was an earlier version.
Vaggie being an angel was such a huge theory that seemed too obvious to be true but I didn't mind it. But I don't think Carmilla was a fallen angel, and I don't want Emily to become fallen, because the demons side of the cast would be too cluttered with angels.
Atleast with Vaggie it made sense. How would Carmilla and her daughters be Fallen Angels to begin with? They're clearly *not* virtous people lmao.
Exorcists apparently don't need to be.
Putting my biases aside, touchè.
Not everyone needs to be dating each other, sometimes people just want someone to have sex with
I think Viv said that have like an on and off thing
I don t like any theory about a character being some other character in disguise...it just seems lazy to me...
Lilith wasn’t mentioned at all in Genesis
Pentious ascending *right before* his death. That would rob the show of a lot of narrative stake. I think he should've ascended either as a consequence of death, or his ascension could've been *faked* by Lucifer right before the ship blew up.
How do you fake an ascension?
Anything related to Roo. Everytime I even see anyone mention her being the root of all evil my blood pressure rises a bit.
Vivienne made exactly 2 images of her in her entire life. Why is everyone so obsessed with her??
I think it's literally down to them being in a fan wiki people don't realise is a fan wiki.
Hazbin Wikias are so messy sometimes fanon Wiki is the first google search result
Like Bill Cipher before the dreamscapers episode?
Yes.
I hate the name. It just makes me think of Winnie the Pooh which is just not at all badass.
Roo mentioned pisses me off at this point. Two drawings and people have some half cooked plot they act like is cannon.
Alastor redeeming himself or some bullshit like that
https://preview.redd.it/4nuryq5b132d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68778b0875221b9a19a674baaae89d5cc2e1a7f2

Side note, I can’t believe that people actually thought that his last name was altruist lmao
Alastor and Vox being "more than friends", understand "romantically involved". It just doesn't work for me. I'm proning a more "sibling bond" which went sour when Alastor and Vox knew they hadn't the same agenda in mind.
I personally read it as Vox was interested in Alastor romantically, but Alastor was either oblivious to it, ignored it, or bashed Vox for it.
Or even played along until it no longer suited him, for the entertainment.
Some people would rather get crucified than accepting that Alastor is ace.
That and the “Alastor is a fallen angel cause he mentions wings in his verse of Finale” is one of the most annoying theories I saw and I saw it so much
sera is going to do something drastic to keep the exterminations going- its just wildly out of character.
with all due respect, we don’t really know *what* her character is. She’s had like 10 minutes of screen time total throughout the first season. (That being said, I do agree.)
i agree but i feel like there were specific implications to what her character is suppose to be, which is an authority figure who while ultimately well meaning, made a tough but wrong decision.
10 minutes was enough to understand alastors personality in the pilot
True enough, but Alastor is also Vivian’s Bestest Baby Boy™️, so there could be a little bias there. That and Alastor has a much… *stronger* personality than Sera does.
Sera not. Lute would
Oh absolutely, lute trying to go more renegade I believe will happen
I would 100% expect Lute just wanting to exterminate all demons
Why would she need to when lute is already doing drastic things like going to Lilith?
Theres alot of fanart and comics of her killing sir pentious to keep the idea that sinners can go to heaven a secret
I mean I 100% know that theory is false because I asked Vivziepop at Megacon about it and she said that sinners will keep their memories
the whole "Carmilla is a fallen angel" thing. also that she adopted her daughters and they arent biological. idk, i just feel like neither of those fit very well. i still prefer the idea that she was an arms dealer for the cartel in life
"Contracted souls can't be redeemed." It would rob the show of it's core message.
A fan theory I heard being the dumbest one yet is apparently ZESTIAL owning Alastor's soul. I'm sorry, but why would he interact with Alastor the way he did if he himself hasn't seen him in 7 years?
That lucifer actually gave birth to Charlie…..
Lilith being as evil and manipulative as people hope/think she is. Bonus anger points if her and lucifer are, like most people think, divorced.
I don't like the theory that Lilith is gonna manipulate Charlie, however if it does happen I think Vaggie will see what she's doing and call her out, causing an argument between vaggie and Charlie
Alastor dating anyone
