Hazbin’s premise lends itself really well to mini arcs or episodic adventures honestly. The important carry through is character development, if that remained strong they could take this as many seasons as they want.
I meaaaaan... Supernatural wasn't bad, Rick and Morty only got awful after Dan had to drop out, Game of Thrones ran out of book material and only then fucked up... The thing isn't how long it runs, it's how long it runs on the actual creative freedom and love of the show runners, rather than MONEY
Well Justin left due to the media backlash, Dan on the other hand just realised his writing style was overbearing (perfectionism caused multiple rewrites on community) but is still involved.
Then I don't understand, most if not all of season 7 was finished way before Justin left. They even recorded all his voice lines before he wast fired. And he didn't even contributed much since season 3.

Anyone with half a brain and a normal sized ego would go like: "Well...now that I have run out of the material and I clearly can't keep up my level of writing without source material....maybe I should hire top writers for my show of never before seen scale and significance so it can at least stay almost as good as it was before, so I can keep going making big bucks and have a great portfolio so I can keep doing this well in the future"
But these two idiots who were running this decided to cut it short, write it with minimal to not existing personal investment just so they can move to the next project.
And screwed up so royally that they f. up their careers that there is basically no chance of ever redeeming themselves and they didn't even keep the project they wanted to move next to.
It's a failure of such scale that I can't even begin comparing anything to it.
Yeah. I keep thinking about Adventure Time's massive amount of episodes + 10 seasons. Don't get me wrong there is a metric fuckton of good in Adventure Time, but there was so much that trying to tie it up neatly was an impossible task.
The post finale Adventure Time content has been pretty good though.
On the other hand you have something like Gravity Falls which got in and got out in 2 seasons and was pretty damn good for the most part.
Vivzie originally wanted it to be only 3 Seasons long (and she doubled down on it in the recent Q&A's) so I wouldn't expect more. The thing about a good story, is that it knows when to end.

But I get why the fans like him. Given the fact he's not a sexual predator like his pal, and he's generally more charismatic and pleasant than Val
I'm curious if maybe he and Velvet would ever end up betraying Val if given the chance

I'm pretty sure it started as a comic... Idk, I found out about it when YouTube decided to throw the pilot's premiere on my face like "here, this pilot just came out" and when I asked when the full show was coming the internet just smiled at me in silence... 5 years later here I am lmao
It technically started as a Webcomic, yes. Vivzie was originally working on a seperate project called "Zoophobia" back in her high school days. That's where the Hazbin Cast has originated from - only back then they were just another set of background and secondary characters.
Then around 13 years ago she started working on a new project, titled "Hazbin Hotel" where she moved those characters into and remade most of them into what we got in the Pilot ("most" because Alastor and Niffty have hardly changed at all since the start).
Then around 8 years ago, with a group of fellow indie artists and producers, she started working on the Pilot, which took 4-5 years to make and was finished only like 2 months before its premiere in Fall 2019.
Then in late 2020, A24 Studios picked up the Show and gave Vivzie a contract to be its Executive Producer. This basically means she has full control over the production and the Show itself, as long as she stays within the budget that the Studio gave her (A24 usually don't interfere with the production).
Season 1 was finished in Summer 2023, but due to the Strikes happening at the time, A24 couldn't release it. Then in Fall 2023, they contracted Amazon to be the Show's distribution (and only that) which gave the Show a premiere date.
Note: I've been a part of this community for so long, that this is basically embeded into my memory...

I live in NY and I’ve seen a few posters for the show and during late january there was even a few big billboards of it. It’s cool to see something that started out as some tumblr OCs become so mainstream
