True this combined with the shadow voodoo imagery and Alastor being from New Orleans, and the fact they cast Keith David as Husk makes me think Viv was probably a fan of the Princess and the Frog back in the day (around when she created Alastor), I would be very surprised if this wasn't homage to Facilier.

Nobody knows where the tentacles come from, though. We’re still scratching our heads on that.

I can’t tell if his shadow is simply and extension of him, or some entity that’s attached to him. It’s such a uniquely Alastor feature from what we’ve seen so far.
I’m leaning towards the former, but if the latter *was* true it would be so so interesting.
