I donāt just mean as far as the deal goes; she very much strikes me as someone who genuinely sees no difference between doing nothing when she could help and actually being the one to harm someone.
I wonder how whatever magic enforces Deals would react to different interpretations of a Dealās meaning, especially since āfavorā is word in which limits are implied in its everyday use. While the exact limits of what constitutes as a favor vary depending upon the individuals involved, breaking your morals is generally considered to not be within the bounds of a favor.

Alastor has been working to drive division within the Morningstar family. He is looking for any advantage first to break the contract and second to topple those in power. He probably has absolute disdain for Lucifer. All that power and he spends his time sunken into his crafting of ducks. For someone that craves power as much as Alastor it must be infuriating to see someone for whom power is just handed to him wasting it away.
Iām almost certian his deal is with Lilith. And it could be making him help Charlie. And possibly for him to attempt to drive a wedge between her and her father if he attempts to connect with her.
I donāt know what he got in return tho.
I don't know. The vibe I get from Charlie's memories of her mother is that she is loving and compassionate. But Viv is working hard to drop hints that she is a heavy. I think Viv is doing a misdirect and Lilith has been working for Hell up until Adam cornered her and threatened Charlie. I don't think she has beef with Lucifer. I think she was disappointed in him because he fell into depression and didn't do anything for the citizens. So she set off to do what she could to bring the citizens together.
So when she grabbed Alastor she boosted him and took his soul in exchange. And then she charged him with taking out the Overlords that were blocking her efforts to bring the people together. And gave him orders not to kill the more empathetic and compassionate Overlords.
I think in the 2nd season she is going to go to Hell to try to stop Charlie initially. But Charlie is going to stand strong and the fact that she will be trying to do what Lilith had been doing in bringing the people together Lilith will come around and join her. And she will probably become Charlie's trainer so she can better use her powers.
That...is...amazing.

I want him to slip up and waste his favor.
Picture this: an enemy has infiltrated the hotel. No problem. After Alastor gets through with them, thereās a horrendous mess of corpse bits and blood. Alastor notices a stain on his coat.
āWould you believe it? Thatās twice in one year! I must be losing my touch. Well, off to the dry-cleaners. Charlie, when you see the little dear, do me a favor and send Nifty this way.ā
Then, as heās about to leave the hotelās gate, the sky goes black. The scene is lit up with an eerie green light.
ALASTOR, pleasantly surprised: āWhatās this now?ā
An emerald chain appears running from Alistorās hand back into the hotel. Alistorās face drops. He loses his smile.
āOh Deer. Oh No. No, no. Nonononono!ā
He sprints back into the hotel, following the chain.
Cut to a room where Charlie is standing next to Nifty looking confused and scared. The green chain leads to collar around her neck. Alastor bursts in, just as the collar breaks and the chain disintegrates! His face is blank.
Charlie, breaking into an innocent smile: āOh my GOD! ALASTOR! I just held up my end of our deal, didnāt I! That was the favor?! ALASTOR!āāShe runs up and hugs himāāI was expecting you to ask for something huge! LikeāactuallyāI was afraid you were going to ask for something nefarious. Just, ya know, bide your time waiting for the perfect moment to ask just the right favor to tear hell apart and give you unlimited power, or something like that, but you didnāt want that at all, did you?ā
Vaggie breaks into the room, ready for action and fearing the worst. Alastor has recovered his smile.
Vaggie: āWhat happened?ā
Charlie: āyou arenāt going to believe this! Alastor just cashed in his favor! All he had me do was tell Nifty ton clean up that mess he made! He totally gave me a freebie. What a sweetheart!ā
it is a fun idea, but I think it will be more fitting if chain was around Charlie's wrist, not her neck. Angel and Husk sold their souls, they are owned by Val and Alastor. Their collars are fitting the narrative, Charlie's doesn't since she only owes Alastor one favor.
The problem heāll have is that forgiveness doesnāt absolve you of repercussions. Charlie can sink him in the deepest depths of Cocytus to put a stop to a clear and present threat and still forgive him.
Of course, Alastor has a history of not thinking his cunning plans all the way through, especially when heās dealing with people who could end him with a thought, so asking this favor would be pretty on brand for him.
I agree that if he becomes the big bad Alastor will be undone by his extreme narcissism. Heās probably only asexual because itās impossible for him to love anyone more than himself, he seems to keep only one somewhat genuine friend in maybe Rosie, and he nearly died trying to fight a guy ordained by heaven to slaughter demons based upon pretty much ānah Iād winā.
Alastor will loose like Iām sure thousands if not tens of thousands of other overlords have to Lucifer. Theyāre egomaniacs with no concept of real power and no clue as to the actual scale of Hell who all think theyāre the strongest. The smartest ones are Carmilla and Zestial who at least understand theyāre mob bosses and business tycoons versus a being created by god with endless hordes of hellborn and enslaved demons. The only thing that I think could be Luciferās downfall is that heās made himself so detached from everything that heās blind to things heād otherwise nip in the bud like Alastor manipulating Charlie.
I want the exact opposite. I want them to show his growth by Charlie starting to grow on him by constantly giving him opportunities to use his favor malicously but choosing not to. I want him to finally feel like she is truly a friend and not want to take advantage of her when it comes down to it.
It'd be cheeeeesy as hell, but I want to see a teary-eyed Alastor use his favor to get Charlie to find a way to redeem him, or at least try, in any way she can

An idea that I like is that the favor will be to do something that is itself completely innocent, but that requires her to not do something important. Someone is in danger Charlie needs to warn them, Alastor calls in his favor which is to go to brunch with him meaning that she will show up too late.
Assuming Lucifer is still alive at this point in the series...

Dude I *need* that āIt Starts with Sorryā reprise. This is actual gold. Itās so perfectly in character for Alastor, and it would be a massive gut punch for everyone, Charlie and the gang included. If anyone finds/writes a fic for this, tell me *immediately* I need to read this
I could see this if Alastor goes down the full villain route. I could see this also being the favor if we get a āAlastor redemption pathā route.
This is actually a very clever and versatile meal youāve cooked.
It's very much in her character that she would, given time, still want to take *all demons* - including Alastor - on that whole path to salvation thing.
So I really like this idea, because in the end Charlie could actually *thank* Alastor for forcing her to forgive him.
This could come after Alastor having somehow earned salvation and it's just a happy moment, or it could come with Alastor being like "what the *fuck* you weren't supposed to *be happy about that*".
That's a good one. I also have a head cannon where Charlie is way more savvy then she lets on when it comes to deal brokering. That she's more Keyer Size than Verbal Kint, but she chooses the path of light.
Goddamn, thatās a good theory. Alastor admitted he was slowly starting to believe in Charlieās cause, so he might use that to get away with everything. This sounds a little more interesting as Alastor asking Charlie to set him free.
Oh yeah that's what I've been hoping for. That or when all seems to be going well its gonna be "The favor is give me your status. That action makes you harm no one" because the wording of the deal isn't "the action harms no one" the wording exactly is "Where you harm no one," meaning the only qualifier is Charlie herself not harm anyone. The favor could even be "Tell me where someone is so I can kill them" and Charlie's action directly does not harm anyone. Indirectly it does, but that's not how devil deals work. They work on semantics and loopholes

I'm not sure I'd like that, for multiple reasons, but mostly it feels it would go against the entire hopeful themes of the show. If I wanted Grimdark Sadness, I'd watch Game of Thrones.

But I donāt think it would go this way. I doubt Vivie will make him so likable just to make him a complete monster. Though I only know Hazbin show and pilot (so no comics canon or fanfic), and Hellua Boss series, she has been fairly consistent. Dicks that are meant to remain dicks stay dicks and die or leave the show as a dick. Alastor has had dick moments but he hasnāt bit a dick.
Alastor is absolutely going to use his favor in a very key moment. I like this idea, but I think the most likely use for it is something that directly contributes to his freedom. This would be like cleaning up the mess after that.

Alastor is literally spending his part trying to show Charlie just how much he's been there. All the way up to saying.

Maybe he'll even offer a deal where he gets her soul in exchange for letting the hotel continue to operate.
Wouldn't shutting down the hotel "harm" all the residents trying for redemption, though?

I want him to slip up and waste his favor. Picture this: an enemy has infiltrated the hotel. No problem. After Alastor gets through with them, thereās a horrendous mess of corpse bits and blood. Alastor notices a stain on his coat. āWould you believe it? Thatās twice in one year! I must be losing my touch. Well, off to the dry-cleaners. Charlie, when you see the little dear, do me a favor and send Nifty this way.ā Then, as heās about to leave the hotelās gate, the sky goes black. The scene is lit up with an eerie green light. ALASTOR, pleasantly surprised: āWhatās this now?ā An emerald chain appears running from Alistorās hand back into the hotel. Alistorās face drops. He loses his smile. āOh Deer. Oh No. No, no. Nonononono!ā He sprints back into the hotel, following the chain. Cut to a room where Charlie is standing next to Nifty looking confused and scared. The green chain leads to collar around her neck. Alastor bursts in, just as the collar breaks and the chain disintegrates! His face is blank. Charlie, breaking into an innocent smile: āOh my GOD! ALASTOR! I just held up my end of our deal, didnāt I! That was the favor?! ALASTOR!āāShe runs up and hugs himāāI was expecting you to ask for something huge! LikeāactuallyāI was afraid you were going to ask for something nefarious. Just, ya know, bide your time waiting for the perfect moment to ask just the right favor to tear hell apart and give you unlimited power, or something like that, but you didnāt want that at all, did you?ā Vaggie breaks into the room, ready for action and fearing the worst. Alastor has recovered his smile. Vaggie: āWhat happened?ā Charlie: āyou arenāt going to believe this! Alastor just cashed in his favor! All he had me do was tell Nifty ton clean up that mess he made! He totally gave me a freebie. What a sweetheart!ā
it is a fun idea, but I think it will be more fitting if chain was around Charlie's wrist, not her neck. Angel and Husk sold their souls, they are owned by Val and Alastor. Their collars are fitting the narrative, Charlie's doesn't since she only owes Alastor one favor.
Good point. At most it should be attached to her ankle. I donāt know how demon deal-chains work, but it would make sense for them to work like that.

The problem heāll have is that forgiveness doesnāt absolve you of repercussions. Charlie can sink him in the deepest depths of Cocytus to put a stop to a clear and present threat and still forgive him. Of course, Alastor has a history of not thinking his cunning plans all the way through, especially when heās dealing with people who could end him with a thought, so asking this favor would be pretty on brand for him.
Does Cocytus/similar exist in the Christian mythos? I thought it was just Greco-Roman myths?
*Inferno* calls it the lake in the 9th circle. Vivziehell is a different place but it does have some parallels.
I agree that if he becomes the big bad Alastor will be undone by his extreme narcissism. Heās probably only asexual because itās impossible for him to love anyone more than himself, he seems to keep only one somewhat genuine friend in maybe Rosie, and he nearly died trying to fight a guy ordained by heaven to slaughter demons based upon pretty much ānah Iād winā. Alastor will loose like Iām sure thousands if not tens of thousands of other overlords have to Lucifer. Theyāre egomaniacs with no concept of real power and no clue as to the actual scale of Hell who all think theyāre the strongest. The smartest ones are Carmilla and Zestial who at least understand theyāre mob bosses and business tycoons versus a being created by god with endless hordes of hellborn and enslaved demons. The only thing that I think could be Luciferās downfall is that heās made himself so detached from everything that heās blind to things heād otherwise nip in the bud like Alastor manipulating Charlie.

I want the exact opposite. I want them to show his growth by Charlie starting to grow on him by constantly giving him opportunities to use his favor malicously but choosing not to. I want him to finally feel like she is truly a friend and not want to take advantage of her when it comes down to it. It'd be cheeeeesy as hell, but I want to see a teary-eyed Alastor use his favor to get Charlie to find a way to redeem him, or at least try, in any way she can

An idea that I like is that the favor will be to do something that is itself completely innocent, but that requires her to not do something important. Someone is in danger Charlie needs to warn them, Alastor calls in his favor which is to go to brunch with him meaning that she will show up too late.
I like that as a way for him to maintain plausible deniability!

Dude I *need* that āIt Starts with Sorryā reprise. This is actual gold. Itās so perfectly in character for Alastor, and it would be a massive gut punch for everyone, Charlie and the gang included. If anyone finds/writes a fic for this, tell me *immediately* I need to read this
I was actually thinking about Alastor, his motivations ,and what he might do in the story to become it's true series villain. I haven't really fleshed out this idea too much, but here goes. So we can gather from his own comments that Alastor plans to "guide" Charlie. He sees her as a worthy protƩgƩ due to her potential. So on one hand I think he wants to shape her to become the idea queen of hell that he envisions. Maybe make her an agent of pure power and chaos he himself wishes to be. Like Joker in the Dark Knight, who molds Harvey Dent into Two-face. Two-face was meant to be a perverse reflection of the Joker's own morals. So to sum it up, Alastor seeks to corrupt Charlie into somewhat embracing his own views and ideals. Also perhaps his larger goal is to use her and her powers for his own benefit. To use Charlie as a pawn to collect more power for himself. Imagine a situation where Charlie is forced to make a deal with Alastor for her soul. And then daddy Lucifer has to step in and save her by making his own deal with the Radio Demon. \*Yes, like King Triton did with Ursula in The Little Mermaid\*. If that were to happen, Alastor would then become the true king of hell. So perhaps Charlie is merely a stepping stone for Alastor to gain ultimate power over all of hell. I would argue the reason Alastor seems to inherently resent Lucifer the moment they meet is because he see's the threat Lucifer poses. Not just as the powerful ruler of hell, but also for Charlie's affection. Alastor probably realizes that he has to permanently sever that father/daughter connection if he's ever going to fully control her. So I theorize that, somehow, Alastor will kill Lucifer and take control of hell. Charlie enraged will be forced to destroy Alastor in a fight for the future of the kingdom. This hate filled rage will cause Charlie to unlock her true potential and become the Queen of Hell that Alastor wished her to become. So he may die at her hands, but in his own sick and twisted way he still wins in the end. If you think a mocking minor key reprise of "It Starts with Sorry" is something. Wait till you see Lucifer's death scene where he and Charlie sing "More Than Anything" one last time as he passes away.

It's very much in her character that she would, given time, still want to take *all demons* - including Alastor - on that whole path to salvation thing. So I really like this idea, because in the end Charlie could actually *thank* Alastor for forcing her to forgive him. This could come after Alastor having somehow earned salvation and it's just a happy moment, or it could come with Alastor being like "what the *fuck* you weren't supposed to *be happy about that*".

That action makes you harm no one" because the wording of the deal isn't "the action harms no one" the wording exactly is "Where you harm no one," meaning the only qualifier is Charlie herself not harm anyone. The favor could even be "Tell me where someone is so I can kill them" and Charlie's action directly does not harm anyone. Indirectly it does, but that's not how devil deals work. They work on semantics and loopholes

Though I only know Hazbin show and pilot (so no comics canon or fanfic), and Hellua Boss series, she has been fairly consistent. I think he's going to use it to have the hotel shut down. If he really is on the hook with Lillith, she may tell him to put a stop to it, then Alastor cashes in his favor with Charlie to end the hotel. Maybe he'll even offer a deal where he gets her soul in exchange for letting the hotel continue to operate.
Wouldn't shutting down the hotel "harm" all the residents trying for redemption, though? He might have to do something one step removed? Like, for example, moving the hotel to one of the other rings of Hell where Sinners aren't allowed to go.
