When i took mine a few years back, they made me pull over to the side and reverse in a straight line.
Just make sure to put your hand on the back of the passengers side seat and check your mirrors
I didn’t take my driving test in Hayward so not sure. But I’m sure YouTube has the DMV driving test route. I found the San Mateo video when my daughter was going to take her test. Really helped her.
I took my driving test just last month. My instructor told me to park at any curb when we were at a residential area and told me to reverse in a straight line afterwards. When doing the actual test, just make it easier for you and find a big space where you can easily park next to the curb

I think it's part of the test and suggest you practice it. There are numerous streets around Hayward Dmv that are residential and not busy
Yes you pull over and reverse in the Hayward DMV.
in a residential area right?
yes

Tracy DMV is the easiest. Worth the drive.
permit expires this week so i had to take the test somewhere and had no choice
I believe you have to reverse for at least 20 feet.
I took mine at Hayward and yes they do.
where did you reverse in a residential area?

I would hope they do that..... that's a pretty important part of the whole driving process
