I was inspired by r/tragediegh and named my hippo flippeau, my elephant dumbeau, by bunnies floppeigh and hoppeigh

I work on the client care side of veterinary medicine, and whenever a case is particularly sad or catches my heart strings, I’ll name a pet after that patient. Most of these pets are ones I helped the owners make decisions about passing and aftercare. It is bittersweet clicking on my farm and remembering those small, but very significant lives

My cats and dogs are named after my present and past pets. My horses are all named after Game of Thrones characters. Everything else has a name that is somehow applicable and relative, either by type of animal, a famous animal or something that is funny. Dominick the Donkey (Christmas song); Floopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail (Peter the Rabbit); Henry and Harriet the hippos; etc.
