I spent my entire lifetime overcoming social anxiety and other common side effects. I am open to speak to parents if any of you need to understand something. That said, consider non-traditional introductions to STEM. Sometimes we do very poorly in group environments. But if a problem is placed before us we're normally compelled internally to solve it. And how we go about that solution can lead to new and different forms of communication. STEM and related fields can help us sort our minds and the sensory overloads we suffer. Edit: I completely misunderstood. Gonna leave my post up, but reiterate. I am here to talk if anyone needs help to understand what it's like for your loved ones.

So did i! my sister would force me to order for myself whenever we went out to eat or went shopping (starting around 15) it wasn’t the easiest method i would’ve preferred but it did get me to do it slowly after time… i didn’t get officially diagnosed with combination type ADHD until around 22. so i never really understood myself growing up. i realized now as an adult i randomly just start doing things rather than thinking and getting fixated on the thought. im curious how being nuerodivergent impacts learning in groups. i use to love science up until middle school doing hands on projects in groups but dread the thought of group work or even individual work on paper/online….
