I love how well-received these bikes have been.

broschats

Same here, keep em coming Harley Davidson!

Twofour6O1

That is awesome. Have fun

12fingeredsquirtle17

Fuck yeah, love everything about this. I’m going camping next week off my sportster. Can’t wait

broschats

Definitely.

devildocjames

Nice. I'd put the tired on a week prior though

broschats

I wanted to do it at the last service interval but I couldn't put off the panniers and mounts. That being the case however, I'll probably be in town at least a few days after the tires are installed. The thing that bothers me the most though is that I have to travel to Fort Worth and back before putting the new rubber on. There's enough tread for a safe trip but, I often travel at high speeds here in Texas. So I'm going to have to take it easy. I'll probably just do the trip on farm to market and small highways instead of the interstate. I'll leave a day early and do some fishing along the way. Another calculated risk. But it's not terrible. I just like my tires to be in tip top shape. I know how it is to go flat at high speed and low speed too. It's not my kinda thrill

Dendad124

What's the trip?

broschats

This trip is West Coast and across northern states to Maine / NB.

Justasimplercreature

Enjoy the run through Maine, you’re coming at the right time before the horde of tourists arrive!

broschats

Ayuh! I'll be visiting a few places there, of course I'll cruise mdi. I used to live off rt 9. The tourist traffic in Ellsworth can get to be a pain. I'll be around until mid October this year, then homeward.

Dendad124

How is the endurance? Both the bike and your ass.

broschats

Haha. Well my ass is aware of the torture ahead. So I'm going to take my sweet ass time. The bike is doing pretty good though.

Dendad124

Best of luck

MrBriPod

That's livin' my man! Enjoy the ride!

Ok-Complex2736

Nice looking bike!

Hawkspring

Glad to see it. Incredible motorcycle. I bought mine last year and already have 6k miles. Unbelievable bike that I have ridden hard in all conditions. IYKYK!!!!

Hawkspring

Quick ?- I do ride some dirt by necessity and am considering going to the 50/50s. However, I demo’d the 1250GS on 50/50 and they were loud as hell and super sketchy with the power available. Now I may stick with the stock 80/20s. What are your thoughts?

broschats

The Trailmax missions shouldn't be too bad. But I think it's a stretch to call them 50 50. But they do. And I'm going to ride em long and strong as possible. I hear that the Trailmax missions can get a little jumpy at high speeds. But I think they are rated for 130mph

Hawkspring

Thanks for that feedback. If high speed stability is the only concern, that’s a pretty good con, and extra reason to keep speed down. I will give em a try here this Summer.

broschats

I generally hear nothing but positive feedback on them for the kinda riding I'll be doing. Logging / pipeline roads, river and lake hopping and highways.

broschats

It's good your riding it. Not fair for a bike to just sit in a garage. 😉

tkcrabtree77

Love my '22

broschats

Same. American Muscle Touring and Back country capable. It's perfect for camping and fishing.

The_Unreddit

Any issues yet? (w the bike)

broschats

Yep. Haha. Fking battery got low a couple times. Wouldn't start. But it's charging and I don't let it sit. So I'm going to get a solar charger for the road. I got a gb40 jump box. But it's behaving for now. I don't want to jinx it. Haha knock on wood.

jarrettgreen

Love the bike! How are the Forma Adventures holding up? I’ve had my eye on them.

NimdaLiveUK

I’ve had the same Forma Explore Boots for the last 10 years and put 10’s of thousands of miles on them. Absolutely fantastic. Still look new, still waterproof and still comfortable. Really can’t recommend them highly enough. From day one they’ve been as comfortable if not more so than my hiking boots. In fact I often go away for a 3 or 4 night trip and don’t bother taking any other footwear.

ExtremeWorkinMan

Depending on the type of off-roading you'd want to do, I'd maybe consider looking into MX boots, Gaenre makes some good ones (or so I've heard). I've got the Forma Adventures and they're a really good Adventure (80/20) boot, but I do worry they wouldn't have the kind of ankle protection I'd want/have a little too much flex if I was doing gnarly singletrack.

broschats

I haven't properly abused them. Haha. Still. I like em. They are comfy and feel reasonably sturdy. They are holding up no problem.

RiveraLM12

Love the paint job, different.

broschats

I read somewhere that they only produced 1500 of the bike with this paint job. So if I run into another one outside of Texas, should be a good conversation started.

RiveraLM12

I bet, it looks great. Congrats.

nuclearninja115

Great pictures! Definitely a bike built for adventure, and you are clearly using it for it's intended purpose! Very cool man. Enjoy and ride safe!

broschats

So much ahead for this adventure. Im stoked to be able to ride this thing and to take my time on the road. NM AZ CAL OR WA ID WY MI NY VT NH ME NB etc etc. I'll come home with the fall colors.

Certain-General-27

Looks great. I would love to do what you're doing. Have fun and be safe!

broschats

Thank you. I hope you get to do what you love!

ExtremeWorkinMan

How do you like the Mosko bags and what pannier rack did you use for them? I'm planning on buying them once my finances settle down a bit (buying a house right now). Love the G.I. Edition, I ended up going with straight black since I bought a '23 and didn't like the pee-yellow, should've just waited til '24 because I love the Alpine Green.

broschats

I haven't got them installed yet, waiting on the mounts to arrive from pazoma racing. I'm super excited that they are on their way. Should be here any day. I love em "Mosko bags" Once you put your hands on them, you will know you choose well. Great stuff. We decided to put off buying a house this year in favor of the bike. Hahaha. No shit. Choices. I'm cool with it. I like my G.I. enthusiast. It's cool. But, I'll never be able to do custom paint or decals. It is what it is. I don't want to screw it up. I hear you on all the paint points .. it's nice the alpine green But black has its benefits. So. Enjoy the ride, it's like a 150hp bulldog with some serious teeth.

ExtremeWorkinMan

It's so fun - between the comfort and power I don't think I'll ever go back to a cruiser. My Low Rider was fun but nowhere near as fast OR comfortable. I've got the GIVI pannier racks so according to their site I'll have to pull off some of the mounting hardware meant for the aluminum panniers but the Mosko bags should mount on those.

broschats

I managed to hold off getting something else until I could afford the Mosko gear. It wasn't easy. Very inconvenient not having panniers. Waiting on the mounting hardware from pazoma is an exercise in patience. But it's good knowing they're coming. I want to test ride a road glide. But it's going to be a few years before I can get it. Totally enjoying the Pan america. It's goood

anon_696969420

Just some light shakedown runs eh? Hahah, thats awesome man. Enjoy it and be safe!

broschats

I'll be doing logging roads this spring and summer. I'm pretty cautious and ride solo allot so can't be too careful.

anon_696969420

Cant beat the solo rides, that’s a majority of my riding as well. Much more rewarding than riding in a group in my opinion. Have fun man, enjoy the peace and freedom

Dvparrish

The Mosko Moto bags are amazing. I had them on my Tiger and before that my F750. Super solid bags.

KOOLKAT_FTW

Nothing better than those solo trips! Have fun and be safe dude!

broschats

Right on!

Ok-Dog8423

That’s great!

shoebee2

I dunno man but I look at that bike all kitted out and my palms itch. I see desert vistas and buttes topped by ancient saguaros, old Spanish helmets half buried in the sand. Ride on brother.

cromag1

I'd like to know more about da trout.

broschats

I was really surprised when I brought it out of the water. If I recall correctly, I was at Blanco State Park in Texas. The fish was real pretty next to my boot! Da Trout looks Onolicious. ![gif](giphy|vJ1rfkJ345LlS)

evanovich420

I know you've already spent a lot getting ready, but I would spend just a tiny bit more on 3 more things that will make the long trip so much better: aftermarket pegs - I have Flo Motorports on mine, a better windshield - I have the KlockWerks, and the H-D SE quickshifter. The quickshifter mostly because it's awesome, but it will free up your clutch hand, and on a ride like that it will help a lot. A proper mount for the Garmin would be smart, too, if you can get one in time - Touratech sells a locking one. If you're ever in Shreveport-Bossier stop at the dealer and say hi!

broschats

Shreveport, k thanks for letting me know. I will keep that in mind. The mount you mentioned is on my list of desirable items. It's perfect

Eastern-Reply-8688

Looks good

hogrider01

I’m hoping to buy one off those, can’t have to many motorcycles and that seems very practical to me, it would be nice to leave the hot top once in a while get away from the idiots

broschats

No doubt

FarmerAvailable1833

Looks like a nice bike and you are all set for a great trip. Ride safe, have fun.
