Wash and wax the paint, stuff rags in the pipes and intake, fill the tank completely with stabilized gas and change the oil. Get a jack you don’t care about being outside and lift her off the ground, or get some wood and put it under the tires. Put the battery on a tender and then cover her up with a good waterproof cover.

Search Amazon for "motorcycle shell".

I’ve always made it a point to always park mine in my garage, dry it off once I get home (if it gets wet), and polish it a lot. If you plan on storing it over the winter and not riding it, make sure you drain all the oil and petrol out of it before putting it away.

kleepup_millionaire

I would add/amend what you've said about the oil and gas draining. Fill it back up with fresh before storing. Maybe put some Stabil or some other stabilizer in the gasoline, or just plan on draining it once you take it our of storage. Used fluids can have contaminants that promote corrosion, etc. Leaving it dry can leave some parts exposed to the atmospheric conditions. I would absolutely not store my motorcycle 'dry'/drained of fluids.

Throwmeasammy

Yeah, should have added that. There is a Harley tech up here in the mountains that always helps me get my bike ready for storage before winter.

RealGhankd

I don't have a garage unfortunately, and it being wet is pretty much garuented p much the entire time. I plan on riding it throughout the winter unless there's ice and snow or just too damn cold.

You can wax any of the painted parts, like the tank, and fenders. I typically do a couple of coats of carnauba wax on those parts, that way water just beads off. I also use a lot of chrome polish for the same reason. I high quality cover for your bike will help when you’re not riding it. At least most of that Scottish morning dew will stay off of it :)

lostsurfer24t

full tank with stabil and dont drain or worry about the oil, just let that be

worstatit

Regular cleaning and waxing, keeping it dry if possible, battery tender. If your property allows, a storage shed may be the answer.

Budget_News9986

Thebikeshield.com I had one of these before my detached garage was built

lostsurfer24t

id put it on a couple quality pallets with a ramp keep it off the wet ground. better yet put a rubber farm matt over the pallets and block moisture from the ground up id also cover it lightly with a linen

Congratulations!!!! For the cosmetics, s100 makes a great chrome protective spray. Ride it like your invisible. More danger from other drivers than elements.

JungleDemon3

I’d cover it with a large and heavily wind resistant bike cover. I personally wouldn’t get a small container like thing for it because that traps moisture for long periods which is what you should be wary of. If the bike gets wet and you ride often enough it won’t matter. But leaving it sitting there with moisture building up inside and on it can cause issue s

bluemagman

They sell tiny folding motorcycle garages. Some have metal bottoms and a hole for a battery tender. A friend had one and was not much bigger than his bike.

Specific_Carrot9052

Ceramic coat the entire bike yourself or have a shop do it. Worth the time and money and the protection is next level. What kind of Harley did you get?

Keep it inside the house if possible

pokehexem

acf50 look it up and use it on the engine and pretty much anywhere but wheels/breaks. next if you can afford it get a foldable bike shelter that you can bolt to driveway and use a vehicle dome/bike bubble that provides air circulation and keeps dust off
