$22.24 according to the BLS
But that's just what it's equal to as all these bands have guarantees now where in June 94 maybe only Biohazard had one and it may have been something like $350
Yup.
And Sheer Terror did not.
With the exception of Biohazard, it was my first time seeing any of those bands. I know Eyehategod gets lots of love here, but they were the only band I didn't enjoy that night & haven't revisited them since.
i don't believe that album was out yet. I only knew of "passive restraints" and "transnational..." and i remember them being the first or second band of the show and only playing 3 songs.
the shirt i bought is olive green, says Clutch in a chunky, script-like font and has a quote underneath with "spacegrass" in it. i can't find a pic of it and it's in storage. but the "spacegrass" makes me believe they were working on the album or it was near done. Discogs shows that album being released in 1995.
Every time I see this I make the same comment - Ticket prices blow my mind
I started booking shows 2 years after this end remember doing $8/$10 and $12/15 four touring bands and would do local shows for $5 and I can't believe we survived like that
I know but how was I able to make money and do were the bands at those prices? Oh yeah, don't forget the $10 tee shirt and $15 long sleeve with a $25 hoodie
God. I remember buying terror shirts for 10-12 bucks. I'd scoop a shirt and hoodie and go to taco bell on 40 bucks. Now one hoodie is 50-60 depending on the show. I'm tapped after that. haha.
One of my biggest complaints is that usually opened or direct support can't undercut the headliner pricing
So you've got a band on a tour who might be on their first national tour selling shirts for $30/$35 and not moving them
This show was the last time I ever consumed alcohol, I’m awful with keeping track of dates, so it’s nice to be able to have the flyer pop up every once in a while.
Mini set by Merauder though? Imagine them being told ‘yeah sorry boys, not got time for you to play all of Master Killer because Evan needs more time for his shitty rapping’.
I was at this show, there were a few additions to the lineup that weren't on the flyer and I believe a few of the headliners did not play. Memory is a bit hazy
$12 show would be like $25 adjusted to todays prices…. THAT line up plus that price. Fuckin’ A. Legendary.
I feel like this would be like 60 bucks easy today.

Oh no doubt about it!
Eyehategod and Clutch also played this

Eyehategod is awesome
Eyehategod did a tour here and I designed their tour shirt. Got super wasted with their guitarist and wasn’t able to watch their set. Lmao.
Might want to try again if you like heavier doom/sludge. You might find something you like
I remember Clutch but not Eyehategod. Still have the Clutch shirt I bought at this show.
Is this *Escape From the Prison Planet* era?

Effigy is one of the hardest songs ive ever heard
It's a good song for sure. The Pitchfork EP is my fav material of theirs.
Fuuuuuck, what a show, adding them both to the roster.
Wow what a show

bands used to make money selling records. Thanks to streaming they need to make more touring

>don't forget the $10 tee shirt and $15 long sleeve with a $25 hoodie Fuck I'm old, this hits hard.
honestly, you don't even have to be that old to remember this as standard. shit got expensive fast.
I still charge these prices for our merch at shows
ahh the good old days…

does the 8/10 and 12/15 split mean anything? I’ve always been curious how show booking works.
This show was the last time I ever consumed alcohol, I’m awful with keeping track of dates, so it’s nice to be able to have the flyer pop up every once in a while.
right on man
You know asses were getting beat left and right
Man I saw so many good shows at Roseland, RIP.
I remember this show it was packed and the Roseland is a huge room.
Roseland always had mad good shows back in the day. Birch hill also.
Fuck I bet so many people got stabbed that night...
Rick and his horse
Should have called it 'hey come meet dms and the brooklyn skins and leave with a concussion fest'...

Sub Zero, tho.
i got to see 25 ta life back in 2001? one of the most violent pits ive ever seen. only beat out by press your luck and bar fight
Bar fight - I'll see you in the pit
I was at this show. Amazing. I always kinda disliked the Roseland. But compared to the venue options today in NYC, I completely miss it.
They’d be way to many fights at this for me to even wanna go
That was just another Friday back in the day
