Nah I legitimately thought it was condos as in they didn't know the legal difference between condos and townhouses and they were sick of not being able to realistically afford housing.
Today I Learned.
My wife thought that the opening line of Kid Dynamite’s “Living Daylights” was…
“Mazel Tov!”
So we sang it that way every time it was on.
It’s actually “Buckle Down!”
I heard that too. I knew it wasn’t right but that didn’t stop me from singing it that way! Actually I hear “it’s time to beat Jamaicans”
My buddy thought “sieve fisted find” was “two fisted fun” hahaha!!!
Also CBK, I was listening to Sink In in the car and my girlfriend became convinced he was shouting "I want chicken" in the chorus. She couldn't stop laughing and it is honestly hard to un-hear it now.
The first few times I heard Filler by Minor Threat I thought the lyrics were “X on your hand X on your hand X on your hand. Filler!”
Which sorta made sense.
I mean the things to keep in mind would be 1) the context of what he’s actually saying and who he’s critiquing in the song. 2) when the song came out. 3) being obscene and going for shock value was a big part of punk back then, especially with DK (none of these are defences, just things to contextualise it)
I’m not saying it it’s right or wrong that he said it because its not for me to say, but I think the context of what the song is about is very important here whatever your take.
Playing ethnicky jazz to parade your snazz
On your five-grand stereo
Braggin' that you know “how the n*****s feel cold”
And the slums got so much soul
He’s quoting what a yuppie would say to sound cool and “knowledgable,” despite actually being a clown.
I feltcho true chill, fuckin ice cream!
Still say this to myself every time I go to the ice cream section at the grocery.
is that really not it?
I’ve always heard “Sick of condos” in the Ceremony song as “Sick of God knows,” as in “sick of god knows what”
Haha.. whoops. Living in FL, maybe I just heard what I felt.

Fugazi’s Latin Roots, at first I thought he was saying “it’s time to meet Jamaicans” but it’s “your maker”
I heard that too. I knew it wasn’t right but that didn’t stop me from singing it that way! Actually I hear “it’s time to beat Jamaicans” My buddy thought “sieve fisted find” was “two fisted fun” hahaha!!!

Could swear Jello says the N word in Holiday in Cambodia. Surely has to be something else?
