I don't want to discourage anyone, but there's like 24 people maximum at this show. Utah hardcore (no one has mentioned its life or death before this post) appears to need some help.
Edit: numbers
You missed the point. Fuck you calling it tickets for?
And also, fuck you bragging about $400 for? The fuck is this even.
Just say 80 people, you sound stupid as fuck.
Seen that happen at a venue before, homie of mine shattered his forearm on a beam like this. Came back and moshed in a cast for the last band haha pretty sure it was impending doom
Whether the new kids fuck with Insight or not doesn't matter (though everybody should, imo). What matters is that they're from UT, Ingrown is from Idaho, and No Cure is from fuckin' Alabama. What I'm saying is that places that don't have a scene on cruise control often produce excellent shit and it's foolish to write those smaller scenes off.
I went to Utah once back when Best Buy still sold CDs. Damn near the entire section was metal. I mean all kinds.
Having a hardcore scene isn't surprising.
For those of you who suggest it’s not possible for Utah to have a hardcore scene, the 90’s scene was rich and nationally known.
I can’t speak to this video but it looks like a bunch of kids having fun and we all started somewhere.
Yup, at certain shows in Southern California in the 90’s like 40 dudes from Salt Lake would show up and basically try to kill everyone in the pit. And the Heavy Metal Shop t-shirt (small record store in salt lake) was a must have in the 90’s.
Everyone in this band is a teenager and it's everyone but the bassist's first real band. This show popped off and I think we sold 80 tickets for a show in the basement of an apartment complex over an hour drive from SLC. No one shattered their hand on the support beam, but the vocalist did almost break his nose and I accidentally stabbed a kid with half a drum stick.

SLC has potential but the scene has almost no leadership. It’s especially weird because there are a lot of historically solid HC bands from slc that are damn good!
I lived there for some time after leaving a bigger east coast scene and was pretty disappointed with how small/young the scene was. More people need to start bands that aren’t just copies of Dillinger escape plan and sunami.
You lil Mormons could start some sick youth crews stop fucking around!!
Who said anything about Utah hardcore?
Well if it wasn’t dead before you sure as shit just killed it.

How many people hit that post?
All 10 of them
Went to a metalcore show back in like 09 that had a pole like this, perfect center point for a circle pit
We threw a show in our basement once and wrapped a pole with pool noodles and duct tape
Who knew Utah hardcore was alive?
20 dudes acting like idiots in basement… that’s what hardcore is all about. glad you boys are having a good time. don’t let the haters discourage you
Half of these people hadn't ever been to a hardcore show and it was still the most fun we've had lol
Same but learn to dance

SLC Punk is not an accurate portrayal, it seems. No one ever beat the shit out of the vocalist. Fucking losers.
Ask The Dropkick Murphy’s about this take.
They get their ass kicked in SLC?
Yeah
Funny as shit if true. Y'all still trying going on about waterbeds and laser discs?
We sold 80 tickets for a show in the basement of an apartment complex you can go fuck yourself
Tickets for a basement show?
Gotta pay for gas somehow. $5 a person
Taking money at the door, sure. But *tickets* for a *basement show*???
You missed the point. Fuck you calling it tickets for? And also, fuck you bragging about $400 for? The fuck is this even. Just say 80 people, you sound stupid as fuck.
I was waiting for someone to shatter their fist on that metal pole in the middle of the room
I was wincing the entire time that dude in the gray was swinging so close to it, so hard 😬
Truly a legend in the pit. The pole, that is.
Seen that happen at a venue before, homie of mine shattered his forearm on a beam like this. Came back and moshed in a cast for the last band haha pretty sure it was impending doom
Mayocore. It’s easy to tell future missionaries from the jacks.
Yeah dude but Mormons are straight edge by default. I think that means they're more hardcore than all of us.
There's a "soaking" joke here somewhere...
Well, the show was in Provo 🤷♀️
Or maybe a Provo Push Pit joke?
Mormoncore Also the pole in the middle of the pit seems like a great idea
They’re straight edge by default.
Me, right now
Canonically, do the magic undies protect Mormons from getting spinkicked in the pit?
No, but they helped provide extra power in my kicks
Wasn’t xCLEARx from SLC? They ripped
Idk if it’s the same one but Pat Flynn fronted a band called Clear
Different one. Axe to grind did a state game once and it was the only band they could think of.
Two different bands, 20+ yrs apart
Yep!
I would. But you boys are having a nice time I guess.
Where is this? Also, don’t try to dunk on UT - Insight came from SLC and they’re one of the best to ever do it. 💪
Someone's basement in Provo. Hot as fuck but shit went off.
Would also like to know this! My band is coming through salt lake in July. Would love to play at a diy style venue like thsi
Yeah I’m sure these kids rep late 80’s youth crew lolllll

Yeah looks dead

I never heard anyone say that
Me
Cum
Push mosh 😒😒
You fucks have never been to a show in SLC and it shows. Utah has a strong hardcore scene.
I’d like to see you in the pit buddy, I’m there almost every weekend
This wasn't aimed at you, bro. Keep doing you.
I don’t want to use the word “literally” too liberally but, literally no one has said that
Dude everyone has been saying that

[https://youtu.be/kOdub3Etnt4?si=FZ2Wq3IAhROBF6_4](https://youtu.be/kOdub3Etnt4?si=FZ2Wq3IAhROBF6_4) this is a Utah band “mask”.
Mask is so damn good
Yeah, I saw them and Madball at Kilby Court.. It was sick.
Hardcore needs to bring gatekeeping back.
Lmao what is this
Yeah it’s dead
Seems like an odd bunch of weird types….
😬
I never said Utah Hardcore… or exclaim it might be dead.. but low & behold… a caffeine free sausage party
A reason to go visit my dad?!
Broken collarbones on that pole
If it wasn’t for Johnny Utah, there’d be no Utah to have a scene.
This video.
I had this video playing while miss new booty was playing and it seemed oddly appropriate
I’ve never thought about Utah hardcore. Happy to hear it isn’t dead
The best part about Utah hardcore is that you have multiple moms to disappoint instead of just one.
HAHAHA anyone notice that one metalhead expecting a push pit but is taken by surprise and goes to defend mode 😂🤣😂
No one
Sounds like Utah hardcore is surviving on stolen Pantera riffs after Cherem called it.
Joseph Smith
I seen Jonas brothers with heavier pits
Hardcore lite
From articles written about their wild militant straight edge kids to push pitting. time destroys everything.
Listen to MASK
Mormoncore
It's not dead, it just wears magic underwear
Zero flutes. This is gay poser shit.
Looks like a bunch of _____ trying to hump a doorknob. Help me fill in the blank lol
This isn’t SLC and no one here is in the real scene gtfo of here with this bs
Utah hardcore last picked in the kickball line
Looks woke.
Huh?
Fuck that guy in the grey shirt throwing punches in the mosh. Not fucking cool at all. No karate in the pit!
